Once you dive down the rabbit hole of Home Free, you’ll understand why this particular song is an outlier, beyond the norm of what a Home Free song usually constitutes. That and you’ll understand just how versatile each member of this group is. In this particular song the bass plays a tenor, and the baritone plays the bass. For those that have been long time fans, this song was a head-turner for that very reason.

Keep in mind that the vocalist who started the video can sing lower than the piano. Take a minute ... re-read ... yes ... lower than the piano. The location is an old warehouse in Minneapolis that was converted to convention / conference center while still maintaining the industrial vibe.(Home Free began in Mankato, MN which is about an hour south of the Cities.) Check out some of Tim Foust's subwoofer ear candy on "Ring of Fire", "Do You Hear What I Hear" (an incredible tour de force for them all!), "Folsom Prison Blues", "Sold", "Down To The Honky Tonk", and their latest Sea Shanty Medley. They are all incredibly versatile and talented musicians. You can do no wrong with Home Free. We Home Fries welcome you to our rabbit hole!!

If you want to hear more of his incredible 5 octave range, check out his Doo Wop solo mashup of Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. It’s too bad you haven’t seen more of them before you saw this song because the man who started this song is the Bass! What is amazing is Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5 octave range and was singing tenor here. If you want to hear his amazing bass voice watch the video Misty Mountains (from the movie the Hobbit) with Peter Hollens (another amazing “a cappella” singer) featuring Tim Foust. It’s great and he goes really low. I think this was filmed on a ship or boat of some sort. Mayday is a distress call for ships. Home Free won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013. The man who sang bass in this video is the baritone/bass and is the newest member, Chance. You might want to hear more of him in I Can’t Outrun You or Yours. I’m glad you like them. They have amazing harmonies. I subscribed. Try Helplessly Hoping, Country Roads, End of the Road to hear more great harmonies. Enjoy!

I appreciate the complexity of Adam’s phenomenal vocal percussion and great harmonies. It is so awesome how Chance and Tim seamlessly switch between bass notes and lead vocals. I love how Tim’s range is so crazy (5 octaves) that he can do his super deep bass notes, and then at the same time make the tenor part of his range sound so effortless like in this song and Snow Globe. I agree with you, they have beautiful voices! I became a Home Fry recently and have already made a playlist of mostly Home Free music.

@@redneckmafi, be that baritenor and use it. My range extends up into low tenor, but cannot belt the way a tenor can. Bass can be very dramatic, but in most arraignments bass singers don't get to shine. Layne Stein or Geoff makes sure to make Geoff shine, but most don't consider the bass, to be honest. Baritones or tenors get the spotlight more often; having characteristics of those ranges is very beneficial. You know, like Eli of Voiceplay.

Too bad you didn't know the group better before listening to this song. You would have had more appreciation for the abilities of these gentlemen. Slap on the hand to whomever suggested this at your point in the homefree journey. A real homefry knows the sequence.

If you really want to see Tim go low....check out Misty Mountain. The very last note he sings is a G1#. Enjoy. You won't believe it.

You kind of missed the fact that Tim Foust sang both the lowest note in their cover of "Ring of Fire" and was the high singer at the beginning of this song - 5 octave range! Adam Chance, who sang bass in this piece, generally handles Home Free's baritone lines, but sang bass in his previous group.

4 months late, sorry my lovelies. I love the original song by CAM - she was kickass. But this.... Tim Foust singing tenor made me so confused I had to watch the video like 3 times in a row to make sure I was really watching the lowest bassist I've ever heard sing tenor. Ya'll just made me happy, yeah even 4 months later. Much love!
