Amy Winehouse was, and still is, one of the greatest talents ever in my opinion. I think if you listen to it a few times more you’d fall in love with the song. Her album Back To Black is on of the best ever. You should listen to it from start to finish. You should also do a reaction to her song “Rehab.” RIP Amy. What a major loss.

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't heard much of Amy. At the time of her death, her album Back to Black was the biggest selling album of the 21st century and it won her 5 Grammy's. She is particularly a huge star in the UK where she is recognised as a cultural icon and her music is still very relevant to this day.

When Mark Ronson collaborated with Amy on this album, he purchased lots of analogue 60’s equipment to give it that raw authenticity that would enhance Amy’s style.

@@kayleighmoran She actually classified herself as a Jazz singer, and she was during her early years. Or during her first studio album “Frank” which she released in 2003, after this first album she strayed from it but at the root she was always a Jazz artist. Even if it wasn’t reflected as much during her second and last studio album “Back To Black” released in 2006. And she was actually very young! People tend to forget this, because she looked so mature. In that video she was only 22!

Amy combined genre's and loved the old time band singers. It does have jazz, and Tony Neen rated her with the greats like Ella, Billie Holiday, etc. Listen to her song "valerie" (live) and "Rehab" (more upbeat). Her style was so new to the generation she was in, she stood out and embraced. I'd recommend the HBO cocu film on her. The coffin was said to be her broken heart. She said she wouldn't do well with fame and she didn't. Not many supports around her, not even her Father, who seemed more interested in her fame. I'd like to hear your reaction to her singing voice, lyrics and performances. RIP to Amy. BTW: alcohol bonds with a chemical in the brain, and addictive. Herion and cigarettes do the same.

Mark Ronson - Bruno Mars And Uptown Funk. Ronson was also a very good friend of Amy's. Amy Winehouse was an amazing and unique talent in the early 2000s. You may want to listen to her song Valerie. Amy had a troubled life. While a huge star she was married to a herion addict who was bad for her. She was always a drinker but, with her husband she really got into drugs and ended up passing away at 27. Like others in the 27 club (Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, ect), the world lost another great and huge talent We will be much poorer for it.

It was released in 2007 but it is a masterpiece that really does grow on you with repeated listens. She had a jazz/pop sound but listen to the album to really understand her. Its Phil Spector sounding over production is on purpose taking you back to songs like 'Leader of the pack' by the Shangrilas. She also recorded quite a few reggae & ska tracks that are real fun songs & a change of mood. There's a new movie biopic coming out this year about her which you really should try to see. I guarantee your opinion will totally change. Her life story is quite incredible.

The band were Sharon Jones (RIP) backing band The Dap-Kings. Mark Ronson heard their demo of Signed, Sealed Delivered and thought they'd be perfect for Amy, the rest is history.

I'm sure many people will recommend you react to Valerie by Amy Winehouse, if you do make sure you do to her acoustic studio performance that is a real masterclass.

Other than Amy, Mark Ronson has collaborated with many top artists - Bruno Mars (Uptown Funk), Miley Cyrus (Nothing Breaks Like a Heart) and the Oscar winning song Shallow (A Star is Born) that he wrote with Lady Gaga - so you will know of his work, if not the name as he writes and produces rather than takes the lead

Still want you to do because you loved me, that’s the way it is, think twice, it’s all coming back to me now, a new day has come, all by myself, dance with my father, the power of love, I’m alive….all by Celine Dion.

Just to keep the public health information accurate, alcohol is very physiologically addictive. An addict can actually go into a potentially fatal condition if they suddenly stop drinking called delerium tremens which can include seizures etc. (nurse with experience in detox unit)

The 28 Club - why is that year so hard for musicians? What a talent. If heaven exists, there must be quite a band up there.
