And her song writing. She wrote her own songs, and yes, reference to drugs.

R.I.P. sweet Amy 💔This song got me thru so many dark times.....she had that incredibly unique gift of being able to connect with those who were in pain - her lyrics, her music but combine that with her amazing voice and you have a LEGENDARY artist....gone far too soon....this world & fame was too much for her to cope with. The official video for 'Back To Black' is SO prophetic😢 She battled bulimia in her teens/20's, alcoholism/drug addiction in her 20's and the scumbag of a husband that destroyed her (‘Back To Black’ is about him).....he was so toxic, but tragically she paid the price for loving him. I will never forget the day she died.....I felt like I'd lost a best friend....and still do... Listen to ‘You Know I'm No Good’, ‘Rehab’, 'Tears Dry on their Own', 'Valerie' live acoustic, 'What Is It About Men', 'Me & Mr Jones' and a couple of amazing covers - ‘To Know Him Is To Love Him’, 'Will You Still Me Tomorrow' or Donny Hathaway's 'I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know' - just WOW - mesmerising, haunting and such emotive vocals...basically what she did best.🖤 Also, check out her acoustic set from 'Dingle' - stunningly flawless. Peace from Ireland☘

I'll never forget that day we lost her, too. I heard the news at work and I got very emotional immediately. I, too, felt like I lost a best friend...and still do 💕 She just had a way to deeply connect with ones soul through her words, her melody and her haunting voice. I still get emotional every time I listen to her albums.

You should watch the documentary called .Amy.Its brilliant.

Thank you for the amazing reaction! The line “You love blow and I love puff” was Amy referring to her than ex boyfriend and later husband and ex husband Blake fielder civil. She was saying that the reason they had to break up was that he was doing cocaine and trying to get her to do it too but she then only liked weed. Later when that got back together he got her into hard drugs and practically ruined her life😢 she did got clean in 2008 and stayed that way until she died from alcohol poisoning on July 23rd 2011. I would really recommend you to watch the documentary “AMY” about her life, it is absolutely incredible! Also you should watch her performance of back to black live in Dingle other voices. It will show you she was one of the greatest artists and vocalists of all times! And maybe make a follow up comparison video😉
