He wrote all the raps throughout the whole movie except one. Parking lot rap battle. he was supposed to write a rap for it, but he was so busy he didn't get a chance to. It's when it's time to shoot the scene, he told them that he's just going to do something off the top of his head. So that one is an actual legit freestyle

FRR not only did Wink have to trick the girl to even get alone with her, and we all know she was doing it to get that “ticket” out of the city she had previously talked about. So that’s still really Eminem’s hoe anyway, But he also got the shit beat out of him. It’s a good thing he’s big talk and got in with another big talker with a gun/multiple sheeple cus if not he’d be finished.
Yea, Brittany Murphy (RIP) at the end was his girlfriend but the flipping off was sort of a respect between them both because she always pushed him to be who he was because she knew he was special.

Psychological damage. He stated everything the other dude could use as ammunition and fired it himself. The perfect response to going first. If you use everything what else can your enemy use against you? Nothing. Plus outing him probably messed up the guy too.
“Lets see if he can win by going first” Bruh its Eminem, you cant let him go first and you cant let him go last because he will still win. As soon as B Rabbit turned the crowd against Papa Doc, he had already won. He then put him on blast with his real life facts and exposed him playing gangster this whole time, he then proceeded to roast himself so that Papa Doc would have nothing else to say. Absolute genius and a just masterpiece of bars 🔥
Love this... 8 Mile is the movie where Em hit Papa Doc so hard, he quit rapping and became an Avenger.
That Lotto line after the music cuts out is hard. Referencing the opponent’s name, lottery tickets and get his mom’s number in half a bar.
Captain America sitting there thinking, that boy snapped….Eminem has literally made an entire career of holding the torch with every verse he’s written since…regardless of who was on the track with him….GOAT

Papa Doc's verse tho. "Yo..." Amazing.
8 mile is one of those movies that has about 30 minutes of highlight reel, and the rest is just punching you in the feels.

I know im late but that “captain america” guy didnt know what eminem was gonna say in the script and he rapped about his actual life outside of acting. Thats why his flabbergasted face looked so believable
The film "8 Mile" is a classic. It's one of the greatest retribution endings to a movie of all-time.
(Yes I'm extracting actual life lessons out of this fictitious rap battle scene from a movie) There are two really useful things to pick up on in what Rabbit (Eminem) does here: First, he is honest about his past and talks about it openly - this is especially important for anyone trying to have a public presence, or be a celebrity, or a politician. If you think about how many scandals happen where someone tries to blackmail someone or calls them out for something private, all of that is avoided if you beat everyone to the punch and share your past on your own. It's also a good idea to try and live in a way such that you'd not be embarrassed if the world saw you do something. Second about communication in general: If you are talking with folks especially if you are laying out some sort of plan or suggestion or giving a presentation - it's helpful to try and think about what the likely concerns, objections, and counterarguments are going to be and address them in your talking points in advance - this reduces the likelihood of someone interrupting you and also shows that you've thought through your idea which will help convince some folks that may be on the fence about it. As a good rule of thumb you want at least 3 reasons why you think something is a good idea because most people don't think through things that deeply so if you have at least 3 reasons you'll probably have enough to win over most folks. This is ESPECIALLY good to get in the habit in with any sort of job or career - the people that are good at presentations, speaking, and writing - are the people who get promoted more easily or asked to be leaders. VERY important to know that the most important general skill to learn and improve on is to be more articulate - that is useful no matter what job you have or get. Cheers.

@@brandonlozier4404 haha no worries I believe it had to do mostly with the "clarence " parents had a real good marriage. He grew up with both parents and was loved, Em thought saying that to him as Papa Doc would get under his skin and it did. Mackey later admitted that was kinda low to make fun of me because I had loving parents.
Also, Em wrote all of the lyrics in this movie. He based them off of what was actually said (I believe), no one disses Em as hard as he disses himself (Bad Guy is a great example). Oh! Except for the last one, Em actually did some research so Clarence is getting roasted for real (I also believe Anthony was surprised when Em started listing off personal lore.)
I love this movie and it's based on Eminem's life coming up and his struggle to make something of himself. He's a genius.
He re-framed the conversation, getting out ahead of him by being honest. That's why you never hide your true self. Be honest and proud.

It amazes me to this day how freakishly good, crisp and sharp this movie is, atmospheric, none bad actors, none dumb unnecessary scenes, solid as can be. And the fact it came not from some world renowned director is even crazier. I always recommended to see this movie even to those who has zero knowledge or interest in rap, because it's just a cool film. Remember watching it on some pirated VHS with a quite questionable image quality and translation to my language when I was a kid, what a memory. I watched this movie probable at least 2 dozen times throughout the years (glad they didn't translate battles and let me hear the flow back then =)
I saw an interview w/ Anthony Mackie, the actor who played PapaDoc, the last round Eminem wrote and asked Anthony I’m gonna use some of your real life, is that ok? Anthony said yes, but didn’t know he was gonna go so hard on Anthony’s REAL life, till he heard it. Crazy! I love behind the scenes stories like that! Great movie ❤
You cant say he let it shined him. The writers got that shit from THIS movie😂 Let it shine 8 miled that shit you feel me💀. I fuckin love this movie
This is the moment he decided to stop rapping and become a superhero instead, cause fighting Thanos was way easier than battling Eminem

It’s so much better when you know it’s someone’s first time watching this lol
What's cool is after the movie, there's video of him letting the Detroit artist freestyle/audition for the rap part
You should watch the movie, the second guy he challenged in what you just watched was actually one of the people hired to be in the crowd. One day they had down time and started doing rap battles and this guy won and got a place in the movie. He grew up poor as shit, and this is his passion and talent but he hasn’t grown up and he has confidence issues. It’s a coming of age story, for an aspiring rap artist. You’ll enjoy it I am a white girl from Canada and I didn’t even really like Eminem until I saw this movie. It completely changed my opinion about him and was a damn good story too.
I love that you are breaking down lines ever other person on earth has already heard 😂 and without context since you didn’t watch the movie. This is top YT content 😂
