" oh, I just need a friend.". That line broke my heart. SO true, needed support around her instead of people after the money. Even her father was all about the fame, didn't see the harm. A PERSON died, not just an artist we know. From all accounts she was a loyal friend, sweet , kind and funny. Fame did her in and I'm sorry for her loss. RIP Amy, you deserved better.

When I first heard 'Losing Game,' I blithely assumed it was a cover of some forgotten classic from the Atlantic label, circa mid-Sixties. When I discovered she wrote it herself, I was speechless for several minutes.

and just to add she wrote most of these in her late teens to early 20s... think she was 20/21 when writing love is a losing game ... he writing is so very clever and her ability wind words around a melody ..what needs be said ...

I had a similar reaction - the first time I heard her I was on my lunch break and browsing in a book store and they were playing her "Back to Black" album over the store's music system. I thought for sure it was some singer from the 60's or 70's. I had to get back to work but ended up staying to listen to the whole album! LOL.

In her song Rehab, when she says "I don't ever want to drink again, I just need a friend", I saw your sad expression, as I reacted the same way when I heard those lyrics. Because when It comes down to it, that's really what she seeked and needed in her life. A genuine friend to be there for her. I remember listening to her song "wake up alone," and I broke down in tears

Ugggg. She was just so damn amazing. “Love Is A Losing Game” may be my favorite of hers although it’s difficult to choose. Marc Romson, her producer, was really key in helping develop the sound on her Back To Black album that all these tracks come from. They were a perfect pairing for each other. Her first album has some great stuff on it too like “F Me Pumps” and “Moody’s Mood For Love” and a rare track to find that’s available on KZread is her awesome cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”

A moment for the pain a poet suffers for their art. When the art is this incredible, the pain should not be wished upon anyone.. Edit: In terms of musicians, it always impressed me how a couple of British girls like Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse both [though remarkably different stories and backgrounds] had some of the best 'real musicians' wanting to play, record and just jam with them. Amy always gave me Billie Holiday vibes, just more sad for happening 50 years later and we still watched it happen, still enabled it. There's always the Harry J. Anslingers, there isn't always a friend.

This must have been the most respectful reaction vid I have ever watched. You did not interrupt every other second, talk over the music, or make fake face impressions, that is why I still have not find anyone who`s reactions would be enjoyable to watch you really listened, and I want to Thankyou so much for that. definately going to order this channel. My first and only reaction channel, I`m exited to see your other reactions. I liked Amy Winehouse so very much, I feel she was one of a kind, so talented, so raw, and honest in her music. She was a jazz singer, but record company changed her music to more " sellable "-style to records. So watch her live performances where she uses her voice more and different styles, she never performed the same song with the same style, she allways changed it. Watch her first audition to record company at the time when no one knows of her, it is very interesting, she has a guitar and her voice, she is very young there, sitting on a couch and when she starts to sing, just wow. Also, some of her songs with other musicians, start listening the song: "Like smoke". This song is something: Listen a very interesting song she made at 16-17 years old "when my eyes" ( close)". They released it after her death, unfortunately. But these are just a few suggestions, if you ever got time, and you liked her style, you won`t be disappointed! And, thankyou again for making a vid of her,it just made me so very glad :) I don`t want to people to forget her.

It takes fortitude if you're listening and you're not prepared. But from what I've seen of you I suspect you have that. There is no point in recommending anything for more Amy. She didn't leave us enough that we can afford to be choosy. Just stick your hand in and grab a fistful. You won't go wrong. Then grab some more. Rinse and repeat. If, after all that, you find you've become a smoker and a drinker, it's worth it. Just stay off the hard stuff. I go back to Amy. Amy...is a winning game. She's gone through it so we don't have to.

Maybe you should do live Amy. I Love You More Than You Will Ever Know live is a must but anything live by her will leave you feeling that we really did loose a true star.

Great reactions! Not only is Amy a fantastic vocalist, but her writing to so damn honest, it hurts. The band playing was The Dap-Kings, Sharon Jones' band. They are incredible as well. And much of the credit goes to super producer Mark Ronson. He's a genius (the man behind Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk) and his albums are worth exploring as well.

TY for that info. Looks like Ronson surrounded her with the best, which is everything an artist of her greatness needs and deserves.

If you'd like to check out some Mark Ronson, his album, Late Night Feelings is incredible. He wrote it after a divorce, I believe, with all female singers including Miley Cyrus, Lykke Li, Camila Cabello,. Yebba, and Alicia Keys. It's fantastic!@@KindCountsDeb3773

Hi and a big hello from Canada. I think you're awesome. I saw this and am watching this for the first time. I have to say I subscribe to you after Her song back to black cemma. I am in my 50s. I'm a white women and this song camemount during a time for me with my daughter and a stepfather of hers who was domestic violence. Put it that way anyway. I love the respect that you show this woman. Because there was so much more going on and I think at the twenty 7 when she was found that I think there was much more NE furious things going on. I just wanted to say thank you so much for reacting. And you did it in such an awesome Way with much respect, God bless.🙏🕊

The sad thing is that if she said yes to going to rehab that could have saved her life it’s sad to think that one wrong mistake in life can lead to your downfall

Amy's producers needed a band that had that old Motown sound so they came to America and recorded with a group called The Dap-Kings.
