" oh, I just need a friend.". That line broke my heart. SO true, needed support around her instead of people after the money. Even her father was all about the fame, didn't see the harm. A PERSON died, not just an artist we know. From all accounts she was a loyal friend, sweet , kind and funny. Fame did her in and I'm sorry for her loss. RIP Amy, you deserved better.
When I first heard 'Losing Game,' I blithely assumed it was a cover of some forgotten classic from the Atlantic label, circa mid-Sixties. When I discovered she wrote it herself, I was speechless for several minutes.

and just to add she wrote most of these in her late teens to early 20s... think she was 20/21 when writing love is a losing game ... he writing is so very clever and her ability wind words around a melody ..what needs be said ...

I had a similar reaction - the first time I heard her I was on my lunch break and browsing in a book store and they were playing her "Back to Black" album over the store's music system. I thought for sure it was some singer from the 60's or 70's. I had to get back to work but ended up staying to listen to the whole album! LOL.

I used to love Rehab back in '08 and that song was always on my iPod, but I cannot listen to it the same way since she died.
George Michael just loved Amy Winehouse. He especially loved Love Is A Losing Game and sang it at his concert when she passed.

It kills me that both are gone too soon. I can only imagine if Amy & George had continued to live long lives, the amazing music they would've continued to write. I can even imagine them collaborating together on a song. Two of the most unique & instantly recognizable voices in the world. Rest In Peace Amy & George.

In her song Rehab, when she says "I don't ever want to drink again, I just need a friend", I saw your sad expression, as I reacted the same way when I heard those lyrics. Because when It comes down to it, that's really what she seeked and needed in her life. A genuine friend to be there for her. I remember listening to her song "wake up alone," and I broke down in tears
Amy was a brilliant artist. Supremely gifted. Her death is a tragedy, but her music will live on forever. One of the greatest voices and songwriters of all time.
The funeral scene for Back to Black originally was Amy burying her heart which had been broken. The gravestone read "Here lies Amy's heart." This was removed from the video following her death.
Ugggg. She was just so damn amazing. “Love Is A Losing Game” may be my favorite of hers although it’s difficult to choose. Marc Romson, her producer, was really key in helping develop the sound on her Back To Black album that all these tracks come from. They were a perfect pairing for each other. Her first album has some great stuff on it too like “F Me Pumps” and “Moody’s Mood For Love” and a rare track to find that’s available on KZread is her awesome cover of “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow”

'To Know Him Is To Love Him' is another rare cover of hers, there's a couple of recordings out there. If you haven't heard it then give it a try- it's just Amy and a guitar= heaven ❤
Every single song Amy sung is stunning, but love is a losing game. It's possible the most heartfelt song iv ever heard.
she joins that list of amazing British female singers like Dusty, Alison moyet, Kate bush, Annie lennox, Adele, Bonnie Tyler, Sade, Lisa stanfield etc etc. She may be the greatest female artist of the past 50 years. She is just iconic & touched people on such a deep level.
RIP Amy Supreme artist, beautiful soul!
Absolutely *need* to listen to her album "Frank" now❗️ The music videos from that album are: In My Bed, Stronger Than Me, F Me Pumps, and Take The Box Which are just as pleasing to the ear as her Back To Black album🎶
Love Is A Losing Game is my favorite of hers. Sadly, I can say that will always be true, since there will never be a new song from our beloved Miss Winehouse. As a professional musician, I think it’s her Magnum Opus.
A moment for the pain a poet suffers for their art. When the art is this incredible, the pain should not be wished upon anyone.. Edit: In terms of musicians, it always impressed me how a couple of British girls like Joss Stone and Amy Winehouse both [though remarkably different stories and backgrounds] had some of the best 'real musicians' wanting to play, record and just jam with them. Amy always gave me Billie Holiday vibes, just more sad for happening 50 years later and we still watched it happen, still enabled it. There's always the Harry J. Anslingers, there isn't always a friend.
I wonder if Amy ever knew just how much people really loved her,, miss you, beautiful girl,'RIP
Amazing talent - probably the best female vocalist coming out of Britain in the last 20 years - RIP Amy
This must have been the most respectful reaction vid I have ever watched. You did not interrupt every other second, talk over the music, or make fake face impressions, that is why I still have not find anyone who`s reactions would be enjoyable to watch you really listened, and I want to Thankyou so much for that. definately going to order this channel. My first and only reaction channel, I`m exited to see your other reactions. I liked Amy Winehouse so very much, I feel she was one of a kind, so talented, so raw, and honest in her music. She was a jazz singer, but record company changed her music to more " sellable "-style to records. So watch her live performances where she uses her voice more and different styles, she never performed the same song with the same style, she allways changed it. Watch her first audition to record company at the time when no one knows of her, it is very interesting, she has a guitar and her voice, she is very young there, sitting on a couch and when she starts to sing, just wow. Also, some of her songs with other musicians, start listening the song: "Like smoke". This song is something: Listen a very interesting song she made at 16-17 years old "when my eyes" ( close)". They released it after her death, unfortunately. But these are just a few suggestions, if you ever got time, and you liked her style, you won`t be disappointed! And, thankyou again for making a vid of her,it just made me so very glad :) I don`t want to people to forget her.

What’s not to love. Supreme artistry. There are a lot of great technical singers but they don’t all make you feel. Amy gave us both.
Oh sweetie. I love how empathetic you are to the feelings in “love is a losing game.” Great reaction
RIP Amy!!! Simply the best!!! You know someone is special when you can honestly say that her songs are instantly recognisable as her, as is the case with all the greats. She left us far too early and I don't think I appreciated her enough at the time, you just assume it will keep coming forever, but it wasn't too be. I'm making up for it now.
Am I the only one who finds all of her songs haunting and beautiful?! She had such an amazing mystique about her, yet so hardcore. Can I suggest a couple PJ Harvey tunes..."Man Sized" and "Down by the River?" She's painfully underrated
Love is a losing game, Amy's voice a mix of Ella Fitz and Billie Holiday
I cry every time I listen to 'Love is a Losing Game'. It's like a guttural punch. Her voice is gorgeous.

just to add . if you want to see what amy is like ,check out "the day she came to dingle" ... little intimate gig in co kerry in ireland when she was 22 or there about ..you see her fire and passion and love for music ..sweetheart of a girl ...(its here on youtube)... and yes her songs are autobiographical, at the end of back to black its her heart in the coffin ... she always had a sense of humour in her music .. if you want to see amy live and on her A game ,check out anything she did on the jools holland show... dont go to strangers with paul weller .she is outstanding ..
Just simply one of the best voices ever! Such a storyteller - magic happens when she sing. Left us way to early. Rip where ever you are beautiful person. ✌️ Thank you for reacting to Amy Winehouse.

Love Is A Losing Game is probably my favorite heartbreak song of the last 20 years. It's so dramatic and beautifully written. You should listen to Wake Up alone too. It's an album track and she writes and sings that feeling so vividly. Two of her best songs imo.
Her voice reminds me of the brass section in a band. Truly beautiful instrument.
You can’t go wrong with Amy. Pleased you are at an age to appreciate this talented superstar
Her First album, Frank, is definitely something else 💞

The voice of another generation. RIP.
I always like to be a little flippant with my comments but that doesn't play with Amy. Congratulations on making it through those videos. It takes fortitude if you're listening and you're not prepared. But from what I've seen of you I suspect you have that. There is no point in recommending anything for more Amy. She didn't leave us enough that we can afford to be choosy. Just stick your hand in and grab a fistful. You won't go wrong. Then grab some more. Rinse and repeat. If, after all that, you find you've become a smoker and a drinker, it's worth it. Just stay off the hard stuff. I go back to Amy. Amy...is a winning game. She's gone through it so we don't have to.

You really should react to her albums!! They are amazing, so many gems.
You should listen to her sing unplugged. She recorded an acoustic version of "Valerie" shortly before her passing. Amazing.
If Amy had been born in an earlier time, she would undoubtedly have been a jazz/Blues chanteuse.
Another remember sadly of 27 club. Amy was a tortured soul, I hope she’s at peace now but what a loss to music.
I wish she would've been able to sing from life around her experiences. So beautiful and very Talented. R. I. P. Beautiful Amy 🙏🏼

Great reactions! Not only is Amy a fantastic vocalist, but her writing to so damn honest, it hurts. The band playing was The Dap-Kings, Sharon Jones' band. They are incredible as well. And much of the credit goes to super producer Mark Ronson. He's a genius (the man behind Bruno Mars' Uptown Funk) and his albums are worth exploring as well.

Hi and a big hello from Canada. I think you're awesome. I saw this and am watching this for the first time. I have to say I subscribe to you after Her song back to black cemma. I am in my 50s. I'm a white women and this song camemount during a time for me with my daughter and a stepfather of hers who was domestic violence. Put it that way anyway. I love the respect that you show this woman. Because there was so much more going on and I think at the twenty 7 when she was found that I think there was much more NE furious things going on. I just wanted to say thank you so much for reacting. And you did it in such an awesome Way with much respect, God bless.🙏🕊
The sad thing is that if she said yes to going to rehab that could have saved her life it’s sad to think that one wrong mistake in life can lead to your downfall
Another person you may enjoy music from is Duffy, may I recommend "Stepping Stone" and "Mercy".
Please just listen to live performance especially the acoustic ones🙏🥰
