Finding Ferrari | My CNC Motors Story (part 2)
On Easter Sunday I got a tip that CNC Motors was almost empty and it would be wise to check to see if my car is still there or not. I drove 7 hours to CNC and waited until Clay (the owner) got there and picked up my car from service. The last email I got from Casey the service manager was a month ago saying they were working on the transmission. I had no idea if the car was in pieces or what condition it was in, let alone if it was even there.
I was surprised to see it all put together sitting in the service bay. I told Clay that I'm here to pick it up from service. We had never met before this point. He got me the car and I was on my way. He never asked who I was or even for ID. Just handed me keys and a Ferrari.
If you have a car at CNC Motors. I suggest you get it now before it's in an impound yard somewhere in L.A.
I still do not have the title and registration and my bank is increasing my interest rate by 10%. This is not my fault and I shouldn't be penalized for it.
Two other people who saw my last video were prompted to pick up their cars. We had a mini celebration in a gas station parking lot, it was amazing! If you decide to confront Clay or get your car or money, remember to abide by local laws.

The sad part is that if Matt doesn't get the title you really don't own the car. Hopefully, the title shows up in the mail. At least you have the car in your garage.

Run a CVR(California DMV Record) on your car and see if registration has started...file a complaint with a DMV investigator if not. Good luck.
Matt, you certainly will not receive your title from the DMV if: a.) the consignor holds the title and has not been paid for the car b.) there's a lien on the car and the lien hasn't been satisfied. In the case of scenario b.), CNC might pay off the lien in order to free-up the title, in which case you probably will get the title but the consignor will get screwed. Either way, you need to find out if there's still a lien, from the previous owner, on the car. That will be your clue as to what's going on. As far as the transaxle is concerned, if the fault lies in the hydraulic shifting mechanism, it might be cheaper to convert to a manual :-) Talk to NGSC about it !
As a dealership owner myself. There is absolutely NO reason he shouldn’t have your title under consignment. All the cars we own cash, we have title on hand. He has taken out a loan on your vehicle or sold it to someone else. Only time you get a new title from dmv is when you request a copy of it. Or you just got the car. Try requesting a dupe title. But make sure he hasn’t done some funny business with it. Hopefully you didn’t sign over the title to CNC.... during consignment!

I saw that somebody close to the situation said an investment group already purchased the building and property and is leasing it back to him. NGSC says his house is being sold and the last guy he interviewed claimed Clay took out title loans on his cars before he sold them. Sounds like he is getting ready to go on the run, possibly flee the country if I had to guess.
I bought a 996 Porsche for cash from a private party on October 31st and didn't get the title until mid-Jan. i don't know if it compares to your situation but by email the DMV kept saying they were weeks backed up and for me to be patient. It seems someone at the DMV could tell you if it is in progress. They sure cashed my check fast though, no delay on that part. Good luck!
Oohhh that title part might be Clay's ace up his sleeve. If he managed to pull a fast one..the title might already be transferred to a different name (I really hope not).

Hey Matt, I am glad that you got your car back and hope the issue with the title will also be solved soon. Well good start you have it in your possession. Try looking for a good Ferrari mechanic in your area. My gut feeling is it can be fixed without replacement of gearbox.

Call the DMV, give them the VIN and see who does, or used to, own it. Odds are the former owner has not been paid and he is likely still the real owner. Good Luck, hope I'm wrong...
Yay the video is back!!! So glad you got your car back! Interesting they wanted you to ask for permission to film even though they had a sign that basically said “go ahead” and before this issue they never really told people no... Hope your title gets sorted quickly so your bank doesn’t murder you on the interest :(

Yeah, if he pulled this shit in New Jersey, any customer he screwed could be connected to some very dangerous friends.
You need to high-tail it to the DMV or one of the third party service providers with your bill of sale and confirm if there is a lien on the vehicle. Based on the new Normal Guy SC video , my guess there is one and probably by his lender (NextGear Capital it sounds like). Luckily, it seems like CA Law is in your favor if you can prove you purchased the vehicle from the dealer in good faith, but it’s going to take time and money, since it sounds like your lender is about to convert your loan from a secured to an unsecured note. I would also make sure the car is locked up and out of sight while you get the title sorted. Frankly, I would even keep it with a trusted family member or friend, as CNC could very easily share your address with the finance company if they want to retrieve it. If they do, you’ll not only be fighting for a title, but for the car also and be back to square one. This could be a situation where there could be up to three title claims on the vehicle. The original owner, CNC’s lender, and your lender. Crazy!!

Dude. There's another person to this side of the story. Somebody SOLD this car and is out cash and the car. CA law is on his side and he if sues, the law will give him his car back.

Also, can yo clarify how your lender is able to increase your loan rate? The note should have a single interest rate. I have never seen a note that hits you with a higher rate if there is some xyz problem.

Not your car without the title, someone could still turn up on your drive, and repo it still.
Don't celebrate too early. It's great you got the car, but you don't have a title because Clay is unable to furnish one, for whatever reason. The car likely belongs to someone else, or he took out a title loan on it. You may end up having to give that car up yet.

The car does not belong to someone else. He probably took a title loan with nextgear capital fraudly. You will get your title back Nextgear should deal with CNC for money owed.

Good news. But you need that title next.
Nice to see you got the car back. You need to contact the State police and let them know the story. They will let you know who was the previous owner and I have a bad feeling that the owner still has the title or also has a bank loan on it . My guess is this car is in the eyes of the police a stolen car. You do not want to get stoped by the police and find out the hard way it is reported stolen. In all these videos no one has gotten the police involved yet. just hoping this works out is not the way to move forward. Every day this place stays open is more time for this guy to do damage. He is running. Ponzi scheme. I have delt with dealers like this on the wholesale level and it never ends well.

How is the paint on the Ferrari.
If Clay had sent the title to DMV, you would have received it by now (you say it was bought in January?). He never sent it. Hopefully it's sitting in a drawer of his desk, as if they go bust and the previous owner decides to say CNC never paid him for it, he could get the car back from you.... Here's hoping it all works out 🤞
Contact the DMV to see the status of your car. You can run a Carfax to see if it has been registered someplace else. If not, I am guessing he might have handed it to NextGear Capital for money loan. Contact them.

He hasn't reviewed cars there since before the pandemic. From what I hear from other victims, is this shady business practice has been going on for over 3 years.
