Jets and Brossoit played as to keep it to 2 goals or less so Hellebuyck won the Jennings. Which is really nice accomplishment for him and the entire team. And although Brossoit didn't meet the 25 games so his name won't be acknowledged, he was a huge part of this years defensive success. And yes, it was nice of the Canucks not to push for 3rd goal at the end.

Brossoit has been a concrete example of the type of depth the Jets have had to get them through the difficult times. In the games he played, he actually delivered both a better GAA and winning percentage than Hellebuyck!

I certainly hope that the Jets can hang on to Brossoit next season, but I doubt that will happen. I think there are a few teams that might consider him as a starter or in a tandem situation. He's likely to get himself a decent raise.

They pulled the goalie and definitely pushed for the 3rd goal at the end... failed, but pushed. I was at the game. I seen't it!

Jets also sat alot of people too. Helley(not even dressed), Marky mark, conner, Lowry, Morrissey, Dillan. That's a lot of our top Top players

Kings is my 2nd team to the Caps. Drives me nuts how many multi-goal leads they have blown during the regular season. Too many times they have tried to sit on leads instead of continuing to attack and score more goals.

Fantastic job with these reviews Shannon, only thing you missed about the Jets win was it secured them the Jennings Trophy for least amount of goals against. The Jets were the only team in the NHL to allow less than 200 goals against this year. After the season they had last year, who would have thought that was even possible? Go Jets Go!

Btw jets also rested all their top players even more than the Canucks

Vegas was 3-0 against the Stars. Kings were 0-3 against the Stars. Kings were 1-3 against Oilers, but the games were close. Vegas was 1-2 against the Oilers. Strangely, the Kings/Vegas will be facing teams they had better odds of winning against. Stars have the pressure of knocking out the reigning Cup Champs Vegas, being the top team in the West. Cam Talbot gets a chance to show why the Oilers shouldn't have cut ties with him, when they did years ago. Overall the playoff match-ups you almost probably couldn't ask for better. In the East, Caps face their former coach for 3 previous seasons, Peter Laviolette. Isles/Canes have faced each other before. Bolts/Panthers face each other in the battle of Florida. Leafs face their haunting rival in the Bruins. In the rest of the West, Jets try to knock off the Cup Champs Avs from 2 seasons ago. Canucks/Preds is the battle of the workhorse goalies, Saros/Demko.

Thank you for another fantastic year of listening to your coverage. You have no idea how much better it is to listen to you than any major sports coverage out there. Cheers THG Go Kings Go

You’re absolutely right about Hill THG. He’s let in a lot of softies and Thompson has been the better of the two so I won’t be surprised to see Thompson start. VGK deserved to lose this game though only scoring one goal. I think they tried too hard to get Marchessault his 43rd goal to tie Karlsson. Credit to the Ducks tho for a well played game. GKG

Jets are playing well, and they have a chance v COL. A weaker version of this Jets team did good things in the playoffs v McDavid. Now they get a shot v Mackinnon. Also, of all the teams you listed, only one is western, and both Jets and Stars would have to win to meet up.

Hey Shannon. The Jets rested 4 guys - Including main starters like Scheifele, KFC and Morrissey (1 injured - Morgan Barron) as well. Just saying is all.

And now, the real season begins where watching any random game is enjoyable. A ton of great matchups in round one and only two series that look a bit lopsided which are both in the east. Could almost flip a coin to pick the winners in the west as I don’t see a single series and think, “this team is going to stomp that team”.

Jets had six players out! WE play Canucks if it goes that far! Home ice advantage for Jets and Jennings award for being the most stingiest for goals against! Great coverage this season! GO JETS GO!😎

I was a little upset that the Jets were sitting out so many of their top players because I wanted them to try for fewest goals against, most regulation wins and most regulation+overtime wins, but fortunately the Canucks did the same and thus made it possible for the Jets to win and thus garner the aforementioned bragging rights.

Way to finish the season Ducks 🦆

As a Knights fan, it’s so obvious the Knights didn’t care about this game. They were trying to force feed Marchessault a goal to tie that record, rather than find offense in other ways, and with Hanifin, Mantha, & Stephenson all resting, it’s clear to me they didn’t care in the slightest how it turned out.

@@JonSnuh NHL teams don’t tank. Not usually even for an easier matchup, which the Stars are not. Even in recent playoff history they’ve beaten the Oilers and lost to the Stars, so that’s just really not a thing any team would do.

The Rangers had to go through the Astros, the Stars will have to go through the Knights. And having it happen in the first round, while Seguin and Hintz can still be held together with Toradol, is the best case scenario. Thank you Viktor Arvidsson!

it's true, 4 of the top Canucks resting... but 9 Jets resting, including their ENTIRE leadership core. (nearly 50% of the entire team was resting) no "C" no "A's" basically the Manitoba Moose vs Vancouver Canucks.

I'm just happy my Sharks weren't shutout for their last game. Hopefully we can draft someone good with our 2nd overall pick this summer!

PLD finished the season with only 40pts.

Nah. Dallas needs to knock the G-Knats off their back. They are going to have to absorb a lot of hits in this series, and i'd rather they do that in the first round than the third round. Benn has a major score to settle and i can sense the beast brewing and his legacy calling. I expect Benn to leave a deep mark on this series. Gotta be careful double-shifting Miro with full-length OTs possible. Hoping we see Hak in game 1 but not with Suter. That will not work. I like our chances, but it will be war. Go Stars!

I was a little surprised that Edmonton started Skinner when they were sitting the rest of the team. Can't have been good for Skinner's confidence going into the playoffs.

Stupid Canucks couldn't score at least 3 goals tonight so the Panthers could get at least a share of the Jennings Trophy. Oh well, congrats to the Jets on being the only team that allowed fewer than 200 goals (199). Now it's time for my favorite time of year - NHL playoffs! Let's Go Panthers! What a terrible decision by the Oilers coaching staff to put your #1 goaltender in net against the top offense in the league when you sit so many of your starters! Avs lit up skinner while the rest of the Oilers team played like it did not matter. Knoblauch, do you think throwing your starting goaltender into that game and having to pull him after the first period does anything for Skinner's confidence?

@@TheHockeyGuy It meant something to my Sharks though! If Minnesota could've gotten to OT we'd have had the 13th pick from Pittsburgh (pre-lottery), them losing in regulation means it's pick 14. Minnesota prevented themselves from falling down from 13th to 14th. Seattle it didn't matter for either way, they didn't pass anyone with a win.

@@TheHockeyGuy Shannon, I'm a VGK fan but they're definitely lacking something from last season. Adin Hill has especially looked shaky. At least Hertl has contributed well with faceoff wins and reviving a doormant PP. The challenge for the Knights will be trying to get players who haven't played much together to gel in a playoff environment.

It’s the jets that had 8 guys out. Vancouver had 3. Confused by your statement that the Canucks rested all there good players because that was not the case.
