In my opinion, the Denmark VS Peru match will determine who will most likely get 2nd place in this group since France looks like a very very solid team. Both team are undefeated since 2016 but I give an advantage to Peru, I don't think Denmark would had been able to maintain their current streak if they had to play Argentina in Buenos Aires or against Ecuador in Quito which are extremely tough venues. All in all, south American football is very quick and agile moving the ball quickly even in very reduced spaces, and lastly but not least, Peru plays like a team (even without their main striker Paolo guerrero) while Denmark mostly depend on their star Christensen.

Lol all it takes to shut down Peru is to mark your goal scorer. Marking eriksen is harder since he's a flex midfielder. Our defence is better than yours we have Chelsea Valencia etc. With a strong defencive and attacking midfield from box to box. Don't sleep on Delaney he is perfect in the box.

Jake Boyle You are right but it can be argued that Peru is the one with the least chances, they are the only ones with an unsurpassable disadvantage, their very small size; that set them against the odds in each free kick, every corner, or any strength duel, no matter how skilled, they can always be outplayed in the air and controlled with shouldering, specially by big European players (and Australia).

Niidea1986 That hasn't stopped Peru from avoiding defeat in their last 10+ games and they recently defeated Iceland, Croatia, Scotland and New Zealand. All of which have the physical advantages you describe and most of all Croatia's roster and skill far surpasses Denmark's and Australia's. Most people haven't seen what Peru is capable of because they don't have the hype train behind them or the attention of many fans and understandably so but securing the 2nd spot is far more accessible for Peru than people are making it out to be.

Gobando 16 of course, being taller and stronger is something that other teams will have going for them, but it won't get you a win against Peru automatically. At this point I am sure that, being the dark horse of group, the remaining C teams must be following Peruvian team with interest and maybe watching previous match in preparation.

In Peru and Andes region that's the traditional tea "mate de coca" I belive it is called. Tea with coca leaf in it which is legal in those countrys. People of that region drink it almost on daily bases does that make them all drug addicts?

France is def going through, Australia are a decent team but they don’t have a goalscorer. Peru and Denmark is the fight. Denmark’s key player is obvious, if Erkison is never picked up he will cause Peru major problems. Peru’s key player is Guerrero if the CB’s can’t handle him than Peru can take the win. I believe Peru will end up going through because Guerrero’s leadership is unbelievable. If you watched Uruguay Peru he bullied godin that whole game. Erkison is class I just don’t know if the other players on Denmark can finish their chances

Having Kjær and Bjelland in defence gives us just as much of a physical presence as Vestergaard/Christensen would. In addition to that, Bjelland is left footed, so it enables us to play with a left and right footed CB, something that Vestergaard/Christensen doesn't give us. Bjelland gives us way more pace than Vestergaard, while Kjær and Christensen basically runs at the same pace. Lastly the experience of Bjelland/Kjær is very useful in a competition like this. But definitely expect more of Christensen after this World Cup!

+Chris Sandoval these games are friendlies. Did you watch France against Italy? When peru played Argentina it was a miracle peru survived. Also Spain, and germany and brazil are the biggest teams of all. Peru just scraped through in the qualifiers and I watched them play brazil who they had no chance against. I think you arrogant confidence will kick you from behind very soon. Peru first has to show they can survive the group instead of celebrating like they have already won the world cup. Qualifying for the first time in 36 years is nothing to be proud about. It's a disgrace.

I have Peru as favorites to qualify over Denmark and Australia as neither of the 2 had to face and beat difficult opponents to get there while Peru had to get pass Chile and were close to Argentina and Colombia.

Your argument is that Peru had a hard time qualifying to the World Cup because they played against the mentioned teams... but they didn't beat them, so why is this even a parameter? Peru got 23 points in 18 matches, but got a desk win against Bolivia... I'm not impressed by their qualification. They are at the World Cup because Chile fucked up and because they got a desk win.

Yeah agreed. We probably don't deserve to be at this Cup in all seriousness. Struggling to beat Honduras and Syria was embarrassing. In saying that though, I feel the Asian teams have greatly improved.

After beating Syria 3-2 we then had to play a two-leg playoff against Honduras, which obviously we won, 3-1.

Samorry Touray Exactly, especially in the early matches. Griezmann performed in the later matches. He is one of the important element in Euro 2016. He and Neymar have the highest assist in Ligue 1 which also propels Florian Thauvin to be the second highest goalscorer.

France should not feel to safe, they have flopped before, and none of the other teams in the group are easy to play against. Think people keep overrating France, They lag leadership, there coach are mediocre at best and there defense are not impressive. Im not convinced that the offensive talents can make up for all that.

People seem to have misunderstood. Christensen will be going to Russia with Denmark. He also played all 90 in a friendly against Sweden last night.

Interesting group similar to group D and E. All 3 sides other than France can take the 2nd spot. Denmark on paper should get through but even Australia who failed to impress in the qualifiers can be an underdog, as Van Marwijk is so experienced. Guerrero's return from ban also boosts Peru's chance, though aging is a problem for the squad. I'll say Denmark still have a slight advantage as they play France the final group round when only a draw is needed for them to top the group.

Peru has a chance to qualify. Australia and Denmark are not that amazing. But France might win the whole Cup.

mankytoes Well Peru has been ignored by the main stream reporting. They are yet to lose in over 10 games and have beaten European teams with the same physical characteristics as the one they'll play in the world cup. Truth is they being playing good for a while but lack the results to show it but in the lasy year or so they continued their good form and added results to that mix.

Peru are a good team. No doubt about it. All the teams in this group are. It is a toughy. And remember France lost to Senegal in 2002 and failed to get passed the group stage - so until the dust settle, it is all speculation.

Imagine this... It's the 90th minute and Australia's talented goal keeper Mat Ryan saves an Eriksen thunderbolt and immediately launches a ferocious counter attack through Sainsbury who plays a beautiful ball over the top to Rogic. After a stellar nutmeg and shimmy he finds Juric, who absolutley laces one into the top corner! The whistle blows! Denmark 5-1 Australia.

1) France 2) Denmark 3) Peru 4) Australia Denmark will do better than most people think. I like Australia's team but they aint gettin out this group. Peru and Denmark will fight for 2nd spot but Denmark will get it. France will win every game in this group without a doubt.

This group is will be interesting to watch ! I think France and Denmark will go through , but Peru could surprise as well.

I'm Australian and the realistic finish will probably be: France Denmark Peru Australia I have a sneaking suspicion it might be something like this though: France Denmark Australia Peru Australia are better than people think. I like flying under the radar. Be careful or you might end up with egg on your faces.

We always perform well at big tournaments where we are given next to no hope (World Cup 2006, World Cup 2014, Asian Cup 2015) so wouldn't be surprised if we somehow manage to get a hard fought win against Denmark/Peru and draw another to get through.

Sebastian Pacheco Peru is worse than people think. They're the exact definition of overrated. People are predicting Peru make it out of the group but they'll most likely finish 3rd or 4th. People are giving Australia absolutely no chance, therefore are underrated.

To be honest I would swap Luongo for Rogic. Rogic often goes missing, loses the ball far to often and tries to do too much. He will do brilliance 3/10 times and gets praised for the 3, but noone ever takes into account the other 7 times. Luongo works harder in defence and is also quicker and smarter, enough to cause problems for defenders. Just a thought

All i see are bias peru fans thinking they are going to win the group and draw against the mighty France. Honestly, as an Australian, I know our chances are slim in making the knockout rounds and so are peru's against two good euro teams... I even saw someone say that Peru will get all 9 points! WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING?

keep dreaming with your team facing pogba, kante, greizman, umtiti, , lloris, mbappe, varane, mendy, tolisso, matuidi, lemar, dembelle. not to mention they have players like martial, zouma, sissoko, coman, lacazette not even making it... More like a tough 3/4 points at best

Actually quite excited for this grouping from an Australian perspective. Sure, it's tough and qualifying is probably still a dream, however there's usually no such thing as a 'Easy grouping' in a world cup, especially from Australia, a real underdog. Considering Bert Van (Aussie coach) is only coaching Aus for this world cup, he'll be looking to field his best possible side as theres no point for him to bring in players for exp. To put it short, Australia will be fielding its strongest team possible against Peru, a roughly even matchup, and Denmark, a team we could give a run for there money. France is France, they'll qualify.

In the last season, of course Erikssen is without any doubt a better player than Guerrero, but in this decade the peruvian is probably at the top5 centre forwards of South America when you are talking about NTs, among players like Higuain, Suarez, Cavani and Falcao. He is not at his prime anymore, but this WC is his lifetime opportunity of getting the recognition he deserves as the world class player he is when playing with his NT.

How on Earth do you leave out Christensen? Absolute joke of a manager!

Bjelland played better. But Bjelland is now out of the squad due to injury, so Christensen is expected to start (as he did in the last friendly).

Australia have been quite underrated going into this tournament. They have a tough group but I expect them to give a strong showing. I think France might go the way of Germany in 2010; an exciting young team that can score lots of goals against teams until they meet a strong team who has good chemistry where they’ll go out. They will probably be strong contenders in another 4 years though.

New coach is irrelevant. Czech are crap there is a reason they didn't qualify! Denmark are full of quality. And its Peru that are underrated! They went against Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Ecuador and still qualified. Australia qualify through an area that is the worst quality wise and aren't even the best there!

Peru are overrated. Beat a tinpot team in New Zealand (and struggled to do so), and we all know South Americans don't like playing in Europe. Will be heading home early for more lines with old mate captain

Dan Yes that’s what many say. But we have our own 10 team league (expanding to 12) and this is our 5th World Cup and 4th in a row.

I have a feeling that this will be the Group of Death along with Group D. Australia has improved really quickly with Bert, and Guerrero has returned and brought motivation back to Peru. I honestly don't know who will advance anymore, even France will have trouble.

MASSIMO LUONGO!!!! QPR have a player in the world cup, it says it all that this is the seasons highlight. XD

Gx HAVOCZz No way lol, with Vestergaard & Christensen okay they might have a chance.. But with Dembele & Mbappe the fast wingers we could easily get past Denmark's defence. With Griezmann the goal scorer and good midfielders like Pogba,Mbappe,Matuidi.

eddie humareda to start of “soccer” doesn’t exist. It’s called FOOTBALL. And this is my prediction. France is way ahead of all the others. I think Denmark, Australia and Peru are all at the same level, but I think Australia is going through.

Dan I’m not a follower of Australia or Peru National teams, but I know Australia smashed the Czech Republic 4-0 a week ago, and I doubt Peru could do that. I think they’re both at the same level, and Denmark is a bit better, but I believe Australia will be like the underdog in this group

France should walk through this. Don't think Australia are good at all so it'll probably be between Peru and Denmark to go through second

MrBobbybobson the way we were playing under our previous manager Ange Postecoglou was embarrassing and painful to watch, any Aussie will agree. Under Bert we seem a lot better and more exciting to watch, however I doubt we’ll get past the groups, it is possible to get 3rd however

All depends on Denmark - Peru on the 16th of June. If Denmark wins (which I honestly think we do, I may be biased but we did beat Poland 4-0), Peru will have to beat France in the next match where Denmark is facing Australia, which are bad odds for Peru.

Rasmus D peru is better than poland they have veen undifeated since late 2016 and have beaten teams such as Uruguay. Brazil, Croatia and tied with Columbia and Argentina. So dont compare them to poland becuase unlike them peru is a teams that really on each other and not on one player
