The greatest non world champion in f1 history

if you take a single season yes...overall not! he was a beast in 2007 and 2008...unfortunatley we will never know what kind of impact his accident had but he looked totally different afterwards (we also had big rule changes for 2010 so who knows)

@@dkolle3446 He arguably was the fastest driver in 2010 and you should have seen him back in 2006, 2005, and his debut in 2004. He had always been consistently a beast of a driver.

Last one is amazing.
What a shame. The 2008 championish belongs to him😔

@Lawrence L. I guess he's referring to the technical failures he suffered from. we will never know how good any f1 driver is for sure but massa was in his absolute prime 2008 while lewis was not. but still if you choose to be in motorsports you should live with it that's why I still think it wasn't very classy how often lewis was referring to his "bad luck" when he lost to rosberg...massa would have been champ easily if he had the "bad luck" lewis suffered from in 2016! not to mention he acted way more classy after he lost it in the final corner. still one of if not the most exciting season(s) ever together with 2007.

@Lawrence L. well most ppl acknowledged all of this during the 2008 season WHILE it happened. but yeah in motorsports you should accept that a high percentage of success depends on the machinery but as in ever sport there is room for a debate. I mean nobody forces you to not stay away from these kind of debates when you're not interested in it or simply can't handle them ;)

@Lawrence L. first: your comments are not gaining quality by using confusing metaphors. second: look up the difference between complaining and analyzing ;) again if you think it's worthless to debate and analyze what actually happens or in this case happened just don't participate. pretty much common sense...well normally

@Lawrence L. apparently it's more like you want everybody else to look at that coin from your angle alone bruh...not sure how often it has to be repeated what the solution is: just ignore the conversation if you don't like the subject! no one here acted as if this conversation would make the titel change hands hahaha...most ppl debate over games, tournaments and their outcomes afterwards...at least if sb has friends. I really can't recall anybody who is like watching a football match or a race and just when it's finished leaves the room without any further comment on what actually took place and what might went wrong. lewis won bc motorsports - especially f1 - is a team sport. he wasn't the best driver individually that season but he probably also lost out (for example in 2010) a championship due to mistakes made by his team! same could be ARGUED for alonso in 2012. now just get into this conversation or stay silent...really basic stuff cheers
Damn, that classic double overtake was truly Felipe Massa's signature move.
His driving style is something i only dream of replicating

Used to do that kind of driving style when playing F1 2006, lol. Aggressive that much.

timo glock had stolen Felipe's title in 2008. What a shame! I know that he did it on purpose.

No, he didn't. The details were revealed that Toyota (who arguably were being Toyota) had gambled on Timo Glock, asking him to stay out considering the track wasn't wet enough to get on top 5.
