​@Aloso930 he definitely threw it away, drove poorly at Australia, spun on his own from second at Malaysia and crashed out, inherited the win in France because Raikkonens exhaust broke, spun 6 times at Silverstone, was destroyed by Lewis at Hockenheim, took Lewis out at Fuji, and was off the pace at the penultimate race in Shanghai and got past Kimi by a team order. Massa blew it in the best car that year and did not deserve the championship.

Did you notice the Massa in 2 of the biggest overtakes in history? One in Singapore and another in Canada, And another in Canada in 2008 when he overtakes 2 cars... Massa could have won this race if it weren't for Ferrari's brilliant strategy

Hi @multi8506, Robert Kubica’s is a heartbreaking story A fantastic driver but his rally accident cruelly ended what could have been an amazing career behind the wheel. Off the top of my head I can’t think of anyone involved in F1 who didn’t rate him as a future championship winning driver. When he had the huge accident in Canada driving for BMW Sauber I initially believed him to have been killed. I was pleased to be incorrect and very happy to see him on the top step of the podium a year later. As much as I admired his decision to return to F1 after suffering what were horrific and devastating injuries in his rallying accident, I think he would have been better off rejecting the opportunity. It was an extremely brave decision to come back, but his injuries left him a shadow of his former self. Fortunately most will remember him as the fearless, massively impressive driver that we witnessed in his first foray into F1. Also a very amiable guy and the owner of a very dry and sarcastic sense of humour.

As a British person I can agree that Massa derserved 2008

He deserved it at the GP of Great Britain in Silverstone where He spun three times and Hamilton won. No He deserved it, because Flavio Briatores Cheating Benetton Schumacher Mafia...i mean Renault F1 Team ordered Piquet Jr. to crash on purpose at the Singapur GP of 2008 because Alonso made his pit stop. Ferrari fd'up the pit stop of Massa and Hamilton was 3rd in the race. Hes deserved it because Ferrari devolped their car in favor of Massa and left their reigning World Champion from 2007 Kimi Raikkonen high and dry.

2008 he had most wins. A driver doesn't always need championships to prove himself.

The sauber lost to much momentum bouncing over the kerbs whilst massa took it more smoothly and got better drive to the line .

Lance stroll literally did the same thing last season with Bottas Is stroll one of the best drivers of all time now? 😵‍💫

I think I saw Stroll do this same move in 2023.... Went back and watched the race highlights, I was right, Stroll pulled this same move, funnily enough also on a Sauber.

He really was an amazing driver till mid 2009, until the accident. From 06 to 08, he was one tje best, and I still think that one of his best seasons in f1, was on 2015. But after the accident of 09, he never was the same, not even close, unfortunately.

Massa was amazing before Hungary 2009, He could fight for wins and pole positions however, his major problem was that he wasn't really the best in the wet as seen in Silverstone 2008 but on his day he could win it... I still believe that even if given that messy 2008 opening races, if the engine blow up in Hungary or the fumble in Singapore didn't happen, he would've won. But of course, that was 16 years ago so let's leave it be

Den Sieg gekostet hat, in monte Carlo mit riesigen Vorsprung in Führung vom Team unnötig an die Box geholt wurde, dann sind das schon 30 pt. Die verschenkt wurden. Und am Ende ist er wegen 1pt. Nicht Weltmeister geworden. 😢, das war eine große Ungerechtigkeit, er hätte es verdient gehabt.

If I remember correctly, Massa couldn't make the turn after the finish line but didn't matter obviously. It's a great overtake considering wet track, tricky chicane and needing to keep it tidy while following another car.

V8's in this video but yes great atmosphere with the roaring engines

He never won from further than 2nd on the grid and only won races with a top 2 car on the grid. Made plenty of mistakes to throw away his 2008 title run including spinning from an easy P2 at Malaysia and his 5 spin masterclass at Silverstone that year. Massa was never that good, and was never quite the same after he took that spring to the head in 2009.
