A couple of additions: Horse prices are a linear increase of about 5,000 a day. There's no point raising horses to full 50,000. On day 2, when a horse is worth 13,000, you may as wells sell them then as the cost to time ratio is the exact same as if you waited til day 9 at 48,000. Day 10 is only an increase of another 2,000 and not worth doing at all. You get less in the lump sum but you have a more steady stream of income. The other is, once you have a large number of horses, it's very efficient to line your horses up outsider the paddock when it comes time to train them. This way, when you've finished training a horse, you put it in the paddock and you're not searching for the next one in the group.

you do pay more for transport doing it your way unless you do it manually an thats alot of driving, i tend to set up my horses an then go do something else then come back when they are done sort of like a passive income.

@@balvarinenz It's only 300 per horse. I don't bother with trailers as there aren't larger ones. After two days, if you sell sixteen horses, you're making 208,000. The transport fee would only be 4,800 plus another 4,800 to get new horses delivered. So, overall: 80,000 to buy sixteen horses 4,800 to deliver horses 208,000 when selling horses on day 2. 4,800 to horses. That's around 118,500 made every two days.

@@JonathanJONeill yea but if would do that 5 times in a 10 day cycle so thats 48,000 rather then just buying all the horses once and selling at the 9/10th day, in the grand scheme it doesnt really matter but it is cheaper to buy all and sell on the 9th day from what a can gather

@@balvarinenz True, you'll make less in the long run. If you wait til day nine and sell sixteen horses at 48,000, you'll make 768,000 minus the transfer fee of 9,600 for a total of 758,400. If you do the every two day method, you'll make around 592,000. In the end, it's a personal choice to have steady, constant income or spaced out, huge lump sums.

By the way straw is not required for horses it's only if you want to throw straw in for them depending on where they are sleeping at Also with the horse's feet can start the rot if they are always stepping in there poop for instance in a stable if it can't be cleaned out every day

I know this is two years old but THANK YOU for not using mods, I just got the game and I've watched several tutorials using modded items I have no access or want to use and

just watching the bale thing. but the handler and fork are mostly for wrapped silage bales (because if they're not air tight, they rot) for hay/straw you're better off with the spike.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before but on PS$ we have a certain amount "blocks" that can be used. For instance buying a SEK 802 trailer uses up 6 blocks I guess of memory out of the 1299 allowed per saved game. If you upgrade that trailer at all, the amount of blocks used goes up but if you buy a second of the same, the amount goes down. Some tractors use only 1 block of the smalls and some go up to 32 so we have the REALLY pay attention to not just the money we have.

Another advantage of the collecting wagon is you can put in exactly what you need. I started with two horses and bought bales of hay. They needed more than 2 bales but less than 3.

Arthur it’s been forever. But the silver bail fork needs to be folded once you get the pipes under the bails. Then it holds the pair tight. They still do not work perfect. But I had to say that. Love you all, keep up the great work

I prefer using the Stol Bale handler. It just grabs it. Only one bale but it works great. I appreciate the vid. Im going pick up wagon and barn instead of bale. Also, no need to have a "field" of grass. I cut the grass around my farm. The lawn basically. And Im running 5 fields so all the grass around that land plenty for hay. I dig your vids Arthur, nice work. Im just now doing horses. But not touching any other animals.

I was cutting grass just around my property. I bailed with silage bake wrapper and took those to animal shop and sold 42 to 45 bales for 50 to 55 thousand dollars. Just from mowing grass around property.

@@Vbluguitar I don't think so. Its on normal and I play in real time. Actually. In beginning I hated my lawn grass growed. It bugged me I had to cut it. Then buy baler to bail it, otherwise it just sits there. Should be setting to turn lawn grass off. Lol. But when I baled it and wrapped it, auto loaded on trailer and took to animal shop and 42 round silage bales paid me 55 grand, I was like cool!!

You can plant a field of clover, which leaves a swath of grass, which can be tedded to make the hay, and you get both a sellable crop, and your hay

That is only on maps that support it. The default game does not support clover.

Its 3 years late but you can get water from that little pond on that dirt road that goes under the tracks in between fields 12 and 18

I took a contract to move bales off a small field. They gave you those forks, but no loader arms, you put the fork right on the 3 point hitch. It was still a pain but worked after a fashion. They actually gave me two of those forks, one for the front and one for the back.

if you want to get oats for free without planting and harvesting your own. watch for harvesting contracts for oat fields. you can do the contract, but stop dumping the oats at the sell point as soon as it says contract completed and your money starts going up. anything left at this point is yours to keep without failing the contract and fines, etc.

something i dont understand is the small horse pen is the only placeable that has '1' in the house looking symbol, any idea what that icon means? also if you get the bale shredder 155 something it actually has bale forks as part of it that can be connected or disconnected and used seperately. the bale forks you open them out an skid them along the ground, if you lower them too much it will lift up the front of your tractor an you cant stear, only lift it if you need to reverse then when you have two you can use X on pc to change the operation mode an it folds shut an clamps the bales, its still a pain to use but its not too bad if you cant afford the 40k for the mod trailer or 90k for the loading wagon.

Nope - as long as they have some food, they are just fine - just be sure to give them both types (oats and hay)

Ok, the Warzee has several attachment versions - I depends on which attachment you bought - some attach to front loader arms, Some attach to a telehandler only and I think one will attach right to the tractor. Hope that helps!

when you have the "balething" attached to your arms, the spikes are part of the bale thing. (its a warzee bale shredder). You have to select (using your joystick select button) the middle device and then detach it. That will release the bale spikes from the shredder.

The best version for Switch is farming Sim 17. The other switch versions are crappy mobile versions. So be sure to get 17 for the switch.

farmers cover there hey so it does not get wet and mold, mold will kill your horses.
