Like what you did, just a couple of things. The cardboard may be ok, but it is humidity dependent. Also you need a ground to earth otherwise you aren't bleeding of the electromagnetic energy. Instead of cardboard, think of another plastic trashcan that fits inside with the electronics in that. Just a couple of things I've learned through the years working with EMI systems. You don't need to ground the trash can. When the metal is struck by hi voltage, one side is positively charged and the other negatively. They cancel each other out and inside is a zero charge(well almost). I use a method called "nesting". I wrap each electronic device in plastic wrap or zip lock bags and then wrap the device in aluminum foil. I used foam rubber for inside insulation which is easy to cut and work with. I use cardboard for a bottom and skipped one for the top as nothing is going to touch the top. I tape all around the lid with copper tape, but, aluminum works just as well. I hope we never experience a SHTF situation as the world will be setback a 100 years or so.

just found your channel and subbed. Going to be taking my preparation more seriously not that I have a kid on the way. Can I ask, how do you know this would work? Seems like a great, inexpensive way to keep a lot of electronics safe. Is there a way to test it?

Did you test yours? I bet that it is ineffective due to lack of aluminum tape

@emergencyprepper well just go to your breaker box and turn it off... now turn off your water... hide the keys to your truck and spend the weekend with your family and whoever is going to be there for shtf. Give everyone a pen and spiral note book. Tell them to make notes of stuff they want to make life doable. Now each member is active actually preparing for this situation. At the end of the exercise give each member 200 and go to town. This exercise randomly repeated over 4 months about 6 times and your gonna have a great chance of success under your most likely shtf. Weather, gov, death in the family, ect... The Faraday cage is for the saving your electronics. Your wife will love a working bread maker and when you're fresh out the shelter and your house blown away , no power your gonna be proud to have a chainsaw truck and drill for rebuilding. Fuel... ethanol Med,drink,fuel... moonshine People lived without electricity... Your Faraday is the make it easier bucket... What makes it easier? Help HELP via People and machine. Practical advice is live next to folks homesteading. If your serious about surviving shtf you need a community that is serious about the garden the 2A the flocks and herds ... Faraday is the backup plan for communication with ham cb and raido Tools Buy a truck like whatever truck you currently have and take it apart every electronics piece and wiring harness get the Chilton manual and take pictures and print them off and in that process develop your tools and skills to actually rebuild your truck in aftermath of coronal mass eject or nuke or its 2028 and a altinator is 1600 dollars or not available at all. So your hedge against inflation shtf and actively training symotaniously ... Think pantry... stock foods you actually eat and rotate. Put cans in top and pull from bottom... the vending machine style cabinet can be made from wood cabinet with minimal purchased wood and a trim stapler

@emergencyprepper I grew up poor at the end of the last dirt road near Peggs Oklahoma. 23 miles from the end of the trail of tears for the Cherokee NDN. Dad tunnel rat uncle Green Barrett Vietnam War veterans/trucker state side. This environment raised me to know and understand things. On the lighter side. Boredom after exhausting work SUCKS. Part of my prep is mini wiener dogs for racing!!! I have 2 for breeding right now and registered they bring 1600 per pup overhead to raise them is low they are about the size of a weasel, my channel has them chasing dust mop. We're crocheting them nasscar style jackets with numbers and sponsors lol. We have also been hoarding Bible and hymnal and encyclopedias. Used college books and homestead medical books. Refuge medical has supplies that work USA made I'm glad to see you putting out content and furthering critical thinking and how to. Good job sir

You can probably build out an entire channel and branch out to various locations and families. Might get a TV series R U READY with a Korn intro clip then boom family standing in the yard Into the families members bio. Do like a pull the plug scene Reality show of actual reality and maybe the weather or something be the bad guy.
