We have a magnet for magnet fishing. Daughter was thrilled to mess about with it as a fridge magnet (hilarious) - we noticed our AI that shall not be named kept going in and out - thought it was the wifi, but we realised that it was the magnet!
Thanks Leigh,good teachings.
Almost everyone has a Faraday box in their houses......... a microve is essentially a Faraday cage/box even a broken one will do the job for storing radios mobile phones etc etc

I don’t think the wife would take kindly taking out my radio’s out of the microwave every time she wants to use it.

Good idea for when the microwave breaks, maybe? ----
Very informative. Thank you 🙏
Great video. I bought a metal bin, with a metal lid, with a cardboard liner about two weeks ago. I've added some simple aluminium tape to cover any holes as needed.

Bin will work also but I store my boxes on shelves and easy to grab and go if needed

Brilliant video Leigh , another mega tip ,Thank you mate 👍👍👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Leigh im gonna make another one using your idea thanks for sharing 73
The rubber seal needs to be removed and paint sanded off at the contact points for it to be 100% effective if your not going to use a conducive tape to seal the gap around the lid

There is complete contact between lid and box via the foil but yes you are correct the better the contact the more effective it would be. Fingers crossed we never have to find out. Thanks for watching
Excellent advice as usual. I thought you mist a trick there tho with Yay we're doomed And Don't panic From the iconic dad's army. Keep up the good work, much appreciated.
Great video. xx
1 is none. 2 is one, and 3 is me. "The Urban Prepper"

Thanks 👍
Always good to see someone else showing proper long storage of electrical devices, btw This is good for Disaster prep as well, Often communication is lost in Idsaster zones and most electronics are destroyed, so not a bad thing to have in a weather shelter as it well. I Would like to know your thoughts on this though, I have been told you could use a Space blanket to line the internals of the box, Never tried it but sounds like it would work, curious about your opinion on that.

Not sure if it would work as it would depend how much charge it would protect from but it would be better than nothing
Another great video, to the point and clear demonstration. No bs no fear just good sound advise.
Your're setting my teeth off with scraping that foam. Excellent video btw.
Another great informative to the point video and simple enough for someone like me to make. Lol
Great interesting video!
Tin foil is a conductor Leigh, better to use draught excluder 👌🏻

Tin is to make sure of conductive contact between lid a box and to stop any charged particles getting passed the gap
Most informative and entertaining as usual Leigh. Keep up the great content...Ten 4!😂
Greetings
Thank you for the tutorial, another good value video 😊 i agree radio &mobile phone networks would be down I'd imagine, just a question would the mylar help with the protection ?

You can but it have to lined with aluminium foil
Don't forget to crimp an earth lead the the metal box and ground it with an earth spike

I read somewhere a while ago that for smaller containers it’s not needed as the charge is very small but worth doing on larger containers as the bigger the faraday box the charge it will hold. Thanks for watching
Need a Fred Flintstone car as well as all electronics gonna be fried [ saw it on War of the Worlds ]]..

Old diesel cars should be ok “hopefully” as they don’t have any electrical chips that can get fried by an EMP
