Thank you for your videos. I've been doing leather work for just over 50 years now and I still enjoy watching good craftsmanship. Your work is so very clean and pleasing to the eye. To bad your so very far away I would love to work in your shop. Again nice work and look forward to seeing more soon.

Where do you purchase the TOGO leather? What is the thickness of the leather? Where do you purchase the piping cord? What is the name of the clamp used to press the pieces of leather together after gluing?

  • @thelegend-gu9eg

Togo is calfskin. Look up Togo hides on Google and it's easy to find. Normally it's 2.0-2.2mm thick which is suitable for this job, although if using it for other items such as wallets may need to go down to 1.2-1.5mm. Piping cord is available on Amazon, although it does not hold its shape over time as well as nulene polycord which is a piece of hard plastic tubing. When using this skive the ends down to about 1/3 of the thickness and make sure then end is not pointed. They are flat nose pliers.

Unfortunately i am a little disappointed in the pattern. The zipper position is too short to properly fit a 35cm zipper. It seems a 30cm one is needed and not a 35. Piping. Had i known there was piping included in this pattern, i would have chosen another one. But i had no way of knowing what will i need before downloading. The things listed as required are missing a few things there. All in all, i am disappointend in this purchase and will not recommend it to anyone who likes preparing supplies before starting the crafting.

Wish I knew you needed a mechanical skiver machine before I bought the pattern. Pattern needs a scale to ensure correct sizing etc.. Video is mediocre at best. Shows finished edges without any mention, video intended to sell, not instruct. If you are an amateur try something else, this may prove frustrating. Piping supplies used/needed not available as per owner.
