Hi, Leon! Thank you for your response! 😀👍 The artists really were skillful, indeed. It's one thing to make a sketch (see the one of Gulliver that l included) and a whole other thing to make it three-dimensional and then particularly with sand. The sand is a specific variety, with 'edges' so the grains kind of click together. Nevertheless, they have to restore some parts every day, particularly after the rainy and stormy weather we had last weeks, which is usually even worse at the seaside.

The Three Little Pigs, The Frog Prince, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (?) Beauty and the Beast (?), Rapunzel, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland (though not one of the traditional fairy tales lol) Those were pretty cool! Thanks, Carina.

They had quite a personal view of which ones to include. We thought so, too. 😉😄 We didn't approve of Little red riding hood - that was an adult, not a girl. I didn't recognise the wolf at first! Looked like some monster. For the scene of Cinderella, it was a good thing the sign said so. We would have preferred some scene with her lost shoe. But anyway, it was marvellous to see all of it, and we did admire the artists' skills. Too bad, on photo, the finesse of it is not obvious. Thank you for your comment, Emily! 😀👍

@jenniferd.9817 George and the dragon is also a lesser known fairy tale in Flanders. For us, he is called Joris. Joris was a shield-bearer (schildknecht) in the service of a king. Each year, a fearful dragon claimed a maiden to eat her. One year, the dragon chose the King's daughter. The king offered a reward to anyone who would conquer the dragon so the princess wasn't taken away. Only Joris dared to accept the challenge and after a long battle and some ingenious ideas, he slaughtered the dragon and to prove it, he took the head to show the king. The king was so happy, he allowed Joris to marry the princess and they lived happily ever after... as the story goes.
