We were glad the zookeeper got them a surprise. They were very playful, much more than other times we saw them. I guess the catnip actually triggered them! They kept going back to the tubes! 😉😄😻 Thank you for your comment, Jennifer! 🤗👍

It wouldn't have occurred to me that they like catnip too. Happy birthday to Nestor and the cubs! They seemed to like the gifts, though like most kitties, they're easily distracted lol.

Indeed, apparently, they were stimulated by the smell of the catnip, as our kitties are. They got distracted several times, but all of them kept going back to the tubes. Except for papa Nestor, he was just lazy. 😉😄👍 You and l recognize similar behaviour too, l guess. Big cats or small cats, they play and amuse themselves in the same way. 😀😻👍 Edit! When do they start growing out their manes? And does it get bigger and fuller as they get older?

It had been since June that we had seen the cubs. We noticed one of the cubs is bigger and has some fluffiness on the cheeks already, so that is Xesar, the male cub. As you can see, Whisker has got quite some manes already. He's 2 years old since June. Not as much as papa Nestor, of course. 😉😀🦁 Fortunately, Whisker still accepts the dominance of his dad, but there will come a time soon that he'll have to move to somewhere else. He's quite our favourite, so then we will miss him so much. He's always been such a caring and playful brother to his younger siblings. They all adore him and go to him whenever they feel the need to have some playful moments. Thank you for your comment, Traci! 🤗👍
