Let's take a closer look at the new Red Bull RB20 update and its new mysterious inlets!
What are these new Halo inlets doing?
Where did the side louvres go?
And what advantage would these inlets bring?

Also: since those additional halo inlets are for the purpose of "cooling" they do not fall under the aero testing restrictions. 🧠🧠🧠

They do fall under the restrictions, what doesnt fall is internal ducts. The openings and their interaction with the air around it absolutely counts.

@@-ragingpotato-937 Yes, thanks for the clarification - I should have been more specific. :)
I‘m not interested in the F1 races anymore. I just follow your explanations, because they show the real race. Thank you for the top work!

I’m loving F1 at the moment. Always complained about not being able to see Jim Clark when he raced, but so glad to witness Max Verstappen’s genius.

Let me guess, when Lewis was winning you were ok with it. But now somebody else is winning, not anymore...

These are great videos, especially because they are short and tight. Thank you.

Totally agree, most seem to just reguritate quotes from the press.
Clever and terrifying at the same time! Will be getting up early to see this one! Great video.

Great insight, please do the new side pods that Aston Martin has copied from Red Bull. It seems they did nothing about the boundary layer.
Very clever air channeling that not only aids the cooling but exits both these ducts heated and compressed, creating smoother boundary laminating layer that draws down a close follow up of the over-body flowing colder and less pressured turbulent inwash air stream in combined and more directed, densely focused placement towards the beam wing trough the new outboard inlets and the rear main wing plate via inboard inlets and the horizontal engine cover vanes resulting in increased downforce gains. The mastermind who can see air, never failed to fascinate! [Re=2320; Re2320 turbulent fluid flow (Re-Reynolds)]
I certainly hope, that there will be "close" racing on sunday and Red Bull not miles ahaed. But then again, i really love this concept, as i'm "fully" able to understand why there are these sausages for the cockpitlosses and the duct towards the beamwing and i wouldnt mind them to be super successful with this car. Also thanks Martin to make me able to appreciate this kind of art of engineering! Grüße aus Berlin :)

Gracias.well read. The air flow really does matter inside the body panel.
they pull air down just to push it up at the back with the beam wing to create downforce, i dont think i understand aerodynimic anymore

More pressure above the floor the better i think

If you guidelines trougt on something for cooling purpose only! Redbull definitely don't need 6 hole while others enough 2 . FIA just nuts, they don't have balls
@groundedgaming

I'm not an aerodynamicist though I aspire to be (yet have a long way to go!) but I think it's because beam wing's main objective is to help drag up air from the diffuser which creates the downforce. There's only so much air below you can get into the beam wing, so they pull as much air they can into the beam wing.

What are the metal poles in front of the inboard inlets?
Awesome
Thanks, great insights as always. I enjoy learning all this new stuff with you, makes the races more fun and informs my paddock surveillance much more than the mainstream wafflers.
Low key disappointed that they did not bring the rumored zero pod concept! Nice video. Red Bull is still clearly a step ahead of the rest with these innovations.

Would be totally against their entire concept using their sidepod to generate massive outwash.

@@nulian Yes, I know, I was slightly sarcastic, as this was believed to be diretion would take according to news sites and fans.
They really said “hey other teams, this is the secret now get your shit together and challenge us”
Rear bodywork slope seems kinda extreme. Isn't this will cause the separation?
Are those antenna rods on the mirrors? 0:38
Amazing video as per usual, is it legal under the current regulations to use this opening just to pass air directly at the beam wing and cool nothing with it?
The rear quarter of the car is the source of the most skin friction, especially with these long cars. Improving flow in the rear corner is key, because that is when APG is greatest, simply due to skin friction.
Tx 🎉
Soooo that makes it 7 air inlets in total .. 😮
@dorukisikk

Hamilton would prefer to have 8 in his mercedes
This may he a stupid question. If you want to create the lowest pressure underneath the car, why are there intakes in front of the floor, to accelerate the airflow, but why is reaching for more air better than the flat 2020 floor?
won't boundary layer losses be really bad and make this useless for that tho??
Honestly tho when Ferrari showed their 2022 car it looked like the rear cover was sculpted after a female body part most of us are extremely happy looking at. Meanwhile seeing the RB20 from the back top it kinda looks more like a thick veiny sack
Everyone hope it's zero pod but Red Bull just adding more hole lmao
Chat are we cooked?
I still hope RBR bring back the zeropod concept. I loved how this was
So Max will finished 1 lap ahead of Mercedes?
Its like f duct ..
This car gives me a chubby.
Copying Ferrari inlet:p
They messed up these new regs. Cars are too aero reliant, too big, too fast for good racing. Sport will never have a championship battle with more than 2 drivers. Everyone else turns up for parade.
