    It's not hypocrisy to change your mind. I think he's wrong, but I don't think he is a hypocrite. Now if you find evidence of him taking money to change his tune by big food or big pharma, THAT would be damning, but if we can't freely change our minds, life is never going to get better and we'll never move forward.

    I don't think he's a hypocrite, but he is a liar. Look, I have no problem with him experimenting with his diet, but he should tell the truth, and be like, "So far I feel great, but I don't know how this will pan out long term, I'm experimenting at this point." I have no problem with him pioneering a new diet, but don't tell people it's safe and healthy when you aren't certain of that. And then literally a couple years in, you're like yeah, it's not safe, man fuck outta here. This guy is less honest than big pharma, at least in those drug commercials they mention the side effects of the drugs they sell. These people make it seem like big pharma is manipulating every single study to make people go vegan. When there is no evidence of this. If there agenda is to get everybody to be vegan, why are there so many studies on the health benefits of fish? He literally said his cholesterol got BETTER when he stopped being carnivore! He was literally saying high cholesterol is good for you, now that it's went down, it's better? Shouldn't he say his cholesterol is worse, because it went down? So even he let it slip high cholesterol is NOT good, because it being lower is better. If paul started eating more sustenance fruits (bread fruit, pumpkin, squash), and replaced all that beef with mostly wild fish and wild game(lean meat), and cut back on all the butter, tallow, and cheese his diet would be damn near perfect. Some butter is good, as it's packed with c15 fatty acid, but too much of a good thing is not good.

    Yep. This 100% happened to me. In my mid 40’s, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (autoimmune disease) my Rheumatologist put me on a strict keto diet. I was on said diet for 2 years. Not only did I keep getting sicker and sicker… one day, 2 years in, after blood work…. My A1-C was 5.9…. My cholesterol was horrible…. Thru the roof… so bad in fact, that someone from the actual lab called me, to ask if it was a fasting blood sample and what my diet had been 2 weeks prior to testing 👀👀 Long story short… keto ruined my health. I went on The Starch Solution By Dr Joh McDougall (whole food, plant based) and in just 3 months I lost 15lbs and my blood cholesterol tested in the normal range…. And my A-1C came down to 5.4…. In just 3 months… Also, my husband is on keto (not easy because I cook 2 different meals usually) and he is now a type 2 diabetic… and his blood cholesterol is horrible… so he’s on a statin… he won’t listen to me about trying Whole Foods, plant based. Carnivores/keto has become an actual cult. It’s happened to my husband, for sure!!

Vitamin A is strongly correlated with skin health but sadly the one found in plant isn't bioavailable, it's beta carotene and it needs to be converted into retinol to be used by your body. The conversion rate is at 12:1 for the best case scenario so you'd need to eat 2 pounds of raw carrots every day to meet your daily requirements. 100g of beef liver would give you 1050% of bioavailable vitamin A retinol. Funny thing is that accutane(isotretinoin) is derived from vitamin A, so just cut straight to the original source and get it yourself from food.

    Well, I hate to disagree with you, but Iceland lowered their heart disease mortality by 80% in 25 years, and the major way they did this was by lowering ldl by dramatically reducing red meat and full fat dairy. I do think there are health benefits to moderate intake of butter, it's full of c15 fatty acid. But too much of a good thing is not good. • @JonAnglewood

    16 күн бұрын

    @@adim00lah The reduction of meat and diary in and of itself does not explain in totality improvements assessed in CHD/ "risk" in populations studied. Unfortunately, we're still stuck making the flawed assumption/association that saturated fat/cholesterol= heart disease over time, as if it just sits in your vascular system when consumed and coats it in fat. Cholesterol by itself is not causative to inflammatory conditioning that give rise to endothelial damage, leading to atherosclerosis . Improvements in tobacco usage, fish intake, medical interventions and physical inactivity are better indicators for the Icelandic people but it still doesn't tell the full story. All the while, obesity and type 2 diabetes is steadily increasing there. Meat consumption is steadily decreasing in the US yet CHD is increasing. Whole foods, whether exclusively carnivore, or exclusively plant based, are not the problem here in assessing "risk" and " causation". Epidemiological studies come with their own problems when assessing population health trends and patterns.

  • @adim00lah

    @adim00lah

    16 күн бұрын

    @@JonAnglewood Meat consumption decreasing doesn't mean chd should go down. We have to decrease saturated fat, and lots of food items besides meat are full of that like cheese. Cheese consumption has gone up, it was actually at an all time high in 2022. Plant proteins are also declining as well, so people aren't replacing meat with beans or tofu, they are replacing it with cheese it appears. If we look at the people lowest levels of atherosclerosis, the Tsimane tribe in Bolivian rain forest, they eat very low fat diets, only 11 grams of saturated fat per day. Most of their diet is made of whole grains rice, maize, sweet potatoes, plantains and beans. Most of their animal protein comes from fish and wild game, both of which are low in saturated fat. You don't have to be a vegan to have clean arteries a matter of fact vegans are at a higher stroke risk due to low b12 levels, just cut back on saturated fat and cholesterol. In Iceland they replaced red meat and full fat dairy with fish. Fish is not plant based, but it is heart healthy as it's low in saturated fat and high in dha/epa omega 3. Obviously smoking and lack of exercise are also factors for cvd, so make sure you don't smoke and get regular exercise.

  • @JonAnglewood

    @JonAnglewood

    16 күн бұрын

    @@adim00lah Of course- meat consumption decreasing shouldn't mean CHD or "risk" should go down (because eating meat or saturated fat doesn't cause anything on its own and is actually an optimal source of nutrition, for humans) however, you pointed to the association as if that should be the case universally and as if it's something that we should expect to see in populations who decrease meat/saturated fat intake and- something we should aspire to. I could show a metanalysis that correlates high meat and fat consumption with higher health outcomes, but the study in and of itself is meaningless without context- like most studies are. re: Tsimane tribe. Do you know what else they don't consume? HIGHLY PROCESSED FOODS which contribute to oxidative stress and endothelial damage (Think- highly refined oxidized vegetable oils, refined white flour/grains/highly refined white sugar, in tandem with refined table salt- in excess). This is somewhat standardized as a foundation of the "industrialized diet" whether it be in America, Australia, China, Russia, or whatever country adopts western lifestyles. In fact, in the US, before the 20th century, people were better off eating meat, lard and other animal based fats until the advent of vegetable oil and the industrialization of packaged food stuffs became commonplace - where we can see a rising trend in CHD and all cause mortalities emerge. Also the Inuit and Masai peoples seem to do just fine, despite their relatively higher intake of meat, fat, blood, and milk. The Tsimane also do not live highly stressful lives and are not sedentary in comparison to "civilized" humans, all which contribute to these outcomes. Until the medical profession can establish saturated fat or specific lipoproteins as being 100% "causative" in anything, then the argument is flawed. They can't establish this because in a vacuum ( isolated components by themselves without exterior influence), there is no causation and all of it relies heavily on questionnaires. Evolutionarily speaking, it is a silly argument as well. In a healthy individual, the body will extract and transport lipoproteins to and from cells and organs that require it at the time, and whatever your body doesn't need in terms of, is excreted via feces. Combining a High fat diet with a High sugar diet in tandem with Highly processed food stuffs is mainly the problem here. Once oxidative stress reaches its tipping point, the body compensates with cholesterol to heal damage, but if further damage is done then the problem can metastasize into atherosclerosis/CHD. We simply can't extrapolate results from epidemiology based studies to whole populations with certainty, especially without considering the bigger picture. Saturated fats play an important role in the biochemistry of metabolism if one looks beyond the false associations. The elephant in the room for any modern industrialized sickness is highly processed food and highly stressful social environments.. Not saturated fat. The problem when analyzing these studies is that other " risk factors" are not taken into consideration when examining why a specific population is suffering from X disease. Combined with bad nutritional science, then you have grounds for mis/disinformation. All which has persisted since Ancel Keys. As a side note: I myself, for 7 years, have consumed a near zero carb, high meat and saturated fat lifestyle/diet and my blood work is the best it has ever been. Anecdotally speaking, I feel much better than I have ever felt. Especially coming from a plant based diet low in saturated fat which didn't do me any good.

Atherosclerosis is not a new disease, plenty of mummies had it, it's not a disease of processed food as there was no processed food, a bit over 30% of mummies from around the world had atherosclerosis. Humans have had access to saturated fat for a long long time. Processed food and diets full of refined sugar is new, atherosclerosis is not. My buddy consumed steroids, and said it was the best he ever felt too. Feeling good doesn't mean you won't clog your arteries, ask the inuits.

    Pickles, not cucumbers are fully living beings (cucumbers are only slightly conscious, similar to oysters). Once the cucumber undergoes a spiritual and bodily reincarnation into the pickle, it suddenly becomes sentient and capable of great destruction. It's similar to the vast difference in animation between Magikarp and Gyarados. Many people don't know this, but Godzilla was a massive pickle that became very angry with humans for eating so many pickles. He and another pickle then decided to put an end to pickle slaughter by enlisting carnivore influencers to promote more meat and fewer pickles. Paul Saladino suddenly promoting pickle consumption is no accident; he is lashing back at the pickle civilization for giving him ill health. It is plain if one simply looks: everything goes back to the pickle. There are many unnoticed pickles throughout history. For instance, Bert from Sesame Street was a pickle dyed yellow (dyed as such so as to conceal his true identity). Batman is a pickle (I know; I didn't want to accept this either). Ellen DeGeneres is one--which explains her anger toward her employees (she also is a pickle cannibal, eating her own kind quite frequently). Fun fact--pickles are the original promoters of the idea that there are "lizard people." In fact, these so-called lizard people are actually "Pickle People." Fickle by nature, and causing a downward trickle of the ideals and agendas of pickle civilization throughout global society. Here is a challenge to anyone reading this comment: Can you identify any more pickles from history? -Dr. Pickle
