What happened to you guys

Try to imagine a 5 or 6 year old Michael walking through this school. Walking in, eating in the cafeteria, going to the music room, ect. It looks all decrepit to us, but it was probably a neat place for him over 50 years ago.

It's really sad seeing Michael Jackson school all trashed and vandalized i hope they find that poor 🐶 a good home

I know right! I met one of MJs teacher, I forgot her name but she was MJs 1st grade teacher. "MJ had alot of good grades and was a good student" that's what she told me but I was young when I met her. I think I met her in a dollar store.

Old school bring back so many memories for me as I attended in 70s Graduated in 82 So most of these schools are from my era, Some of my best memories!

The school was closed in the 90s, then reopened as an adult education center called Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy. In 2001, it was closed again, but appeared to be reopened as of March, 2010 as Images of Hope, Inc. There was no Memorial at this school. Went there from 1973 to 1977.

Enjoyed the exploration. Found some info from a Michael Jackson memorial site that explains the dates you discovered. Yes .. New RnK video ! Remembered Josh had a video of this too but it was the exploration of hospital where MJ was born.

The school closed in 2004 due to budgetary constraints and a greatly diminished student population. The final graduating class consisted of only 72 students. The neighboring John H Vohr Elementary School closed too in 2010.

Hey buddy :) Next time when you film a discovery like this make sure you cover outside of the building and the surrounding area as well cuz it makes full sense so that the audience gets the full picture of it OUTSIDE & INSIDE. Don't get me wrong just my thoughts. Anyways I appreciate your hard work and sharing your exploration for letting us discover the abandoned properties which were alive & famous once upon a time.

I wonder if you could have gone to a lobby area that might have a plaque that might tell what year the school was built. From the styling, looks like about 1965.

It's kinda like a mini Detroit! It's crazy! Remember the movie Christmas Story with Ralphie? It's based from Hammond Indiana which is near there! Great vlog! Garnett elementary closed in the 70's and became MLK Jr high until about 2001! Then it became a alternative school for at risk kids until the building closed around 2016!

Crazy because this isn’t the only school Roosevelt high school is fully functional 😒 right behind the Jackson house

There should be a big long wood plaque over the front door that they dedicated the school that has his name on it. It had been taken down at one time because of the accusations made on him but put it back up when he was found innocent in 2005. Long live Michael's legacy.

LOVED this!! I'm a long time MJ fan. I was too young for the J5 but became an MJ fan with Thriller when I was old enough to pay attention to pop music. Even though there wasn't a memorial for him it's really cool to see part of his childhood. Thanks so much for the video!! Glad the dog is ok 😉💕
