A perfect way to experience the merging and interdependence of mantra, shabda, swara, naad and Raag. An early morning raga, Bhatiyaar has a restful and meditative aura, much like the way we see Mahayogi Shiva. I began my journey of Bhatiyaar with this essential connection to Shiva.
My meditative and inward journey was also supported by the bandish "Shiv Shiv Shiv Shiv Shankar" which has a very wide range and allows one to delve into the deepest vibration of the voice to the highest note, making it a very cathartic but at the same time calming experience. These and more musical thoughts shape my upcoming release "ShivDhyaan" on March 1, on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. This video is a short introduction to "ShivDhyaan".
