Great to hear that ! Just letting you know: there are different kinds of Indian drums or rhythmic instruments. The one in the video above is called TABLA. There are others like MRIDANGAM, DHOLAK, PAKHAVAJ, GHATAM etc.

You can start anytime to learn a part of it...beleive me I too used to learn when I was a kid and for three years I learnt and stopped it ..now learning again in austrlaia with online classes from Indian gurus and they are great humble and wonderful....u should too...it's an experience in itself...so much science opens up in front of ub

Ustad Zakir Hussain himself an Everest in terms of performance. For the first 9 mins, he was totally immersed in listening & experiencing the divinity from Rakesh sir. India's culture is still alive because these handful guys.. God bless these guys as the entire world needs them..

@@pomdutta8034 It is not a shakuhachi. What I play is Shinobue(篠笛), which is made of bamboo called Shinotake. There are 13 in total, and you can use them according to the scale. This is the first time I hear these musicians and I can't find words to praise them.

This is one of my favourite music sets - and I love anything between heavy rock and electronic, jazz and classical! India has a beautiful, diverse culture. I've travelled their and can't wait to go again. Most of the locals i met were so kind, considering the chaos and constant occupation they were exposed over the millennia. We stand with India. I clicked the video because I’m 22 almost 23 and decided I want to explore the musics of the world. Wow..... The flute music is so damn versatile like a quietly flowing stream at one point, ocean waves at other times and like intermittent rain showers at another moment. Beautifully complemented by the tabla beats like the other elements of nature- swaying trees, galloping horses..... Indian music and musicians are limitless 🙏👌

Oh my God... imagine playing flute non stop for more than an hour!!!!! It’s immense practice...Hats off.

@@karonesechannel2599 there are legends of tamil cholas residing in hilly regions of sumatra while they were going to malacca strait, also many tamil and kalinga traders trade from malcca region and all... may be your ancestors have an indian connection😊... have also heared that before islam and dutch/american christian missionaries arrived in central high lands of sumatra /toba region the clans there followed a mix of hinduism /buddhism and indegenuous traditional beleifs and that many clans in toba region had sacred text books of mantras called "pustaha" which literally means textbooks in sanskrit.. which had sacred mantras and many herbal formulations and magics... and that these text books are all now in dutch museum.. !!

I cranked up the volume and synced up all 5 of my Mac computers to this amazing performance and then also my large screen tv. Then I craked up my synthesizer and rode the bender to accompany Mr. Hussain. My 1 year old is spinning around wildly. Needless to say, my wife is threatening divorce.

Look how Zakir Hussain Ji is slipping into meditativeness while Rakesh Chaurasia Ji is playing flute... Once you're are in sync with music meditativeness is natural consequence... Music is expression of Silence... Shambho..

I first found Hussains music through his rhytm experience album and immediately noticed the mastery in his work. I must say in this live these guys are in THE ZONE! Genuinly having fun playing together and the most intricate music just flows through them effortlessly. This is everything a musical performance should be.

You don't need medicine for anxiety. Just listen to these two legends music. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

My jaw just dropped every time Zakir used the tuning hammer to tighten up the drum while making its sound part of the music and not missing a beat. I was fortunate enough to see this master in concert in the early 90's. He had just flown in from India to New York, came straight from the airport to the concert, was jet-lagged, and had the flu. You could see when he started to play how sick and exhausted he was. But within 5 minutes all signs of fatigue and illness were gone and he proceeded to play an amazing 5 hour concert. Incredible musicians - thank you Zakir and Rakesh for sharing your talents!

Hariprasad Chaurasia - present flutist Rakesh Chaurasia's uncle way back in 1978 at IIT Mumbai (Bombay) about four decades back in time. He is great. How amazing to have been to experience this as a live performance. I live in a small town in New Zealand. I truly hope some day we will have a venue where this type of concert can be supported here, not only by the venue but the people who have never been exposed to this talent.

Hey...Zakirji has performed in Auckland...I happend to be one of the lucky ones to witness the great music yet again.

I had the opportunity to see Pt. Hariprasad (dad of flute player), and Ustad Zakir Hussein live back in 1996, so marvelous, the son is also wonderful, what a amazing duo.

Music reaches beyond countries. It makes us unite and see beyond cultures, colours or boarders. To me music is life. And in this planet at least its made (mostly) by us human beings. And yes, I listen to music from any country and era almost. My taste pretty much knows no boundaries for all expression is majestic creativity and beauty or beast itself manifested.

Indian artists in general don't carry an aircraft load of instruments. They create magic with just a small carry bag. They don't need 200 sq ft stage but a 6 x 6 sq ft is enough to perform..

im a a really big metalhead and thats what i mainly listen to, like doom and sludge metal but I love classical indian and persian music so much. its so meditative and I love to put it on when I write because you can easily imagine some kind of epic story from long ago with it on. this is real storytelling without words. magickal stuff

Great music, I enjoyed that very much ! I was particulary amazed by Rakesh Chaurasias playing, that sounds at least as good as his uncles !

He has mastered the practice of rotary breathing. No stopping is necessary once you learn how to do that.

Ustad Zakir Hussain, who inspired me to learn tabla. I will be always obliged to him. Pranam Guru 🙏 Ustad Rakesh Chaurasia mesmerized me.

Nice coordination between two maestros of classical music.

Rakesh Chaurasia is able to get such an incredible human and emotional sound out of a bansuri, as I barely can get noise out of my self-made bansuri!
