Everyone TOLD ME there was NO SIDEWALK HERE so I spent 15 HOURS uncovering it
I had multiple neighbors and also the owner of the home tell me that they had never seen a sidewalk here. So, I spent the next 15 hours completely uncovering it and proving them wrong. This has to be one of my most labor intensive jobs as the sidewalk was covered in multiple inches of dirt and removing it took around 50 wheelbarrows full. Everybody was shocked with the result to say the least and it completely transformed the look of the home and the entire corner.

100%!!! I’ve been watching these channels for 3 days now. I never knew they existed until then. It’s like my new fidget
As a wheelchair user, I want to thank you for doing this for the neighborhood. Even a cracked sidewalk is better (and SAFER) than rolling on grass or having to go out in the street. Some people don't realize how important things like sidewalks are for disabled or elderly people - I'm looking at you, people complaining that the cracked sidewalk is now exposed. I would have been ecstatic if I was one of those neighbors as it would mean I could more easily and SAFELY go on walks (you know what I mean) around the neighborhood. (Edit: I didn't intend to make anyone feel bad about this. I was simply trying to bring awareness to a subject that most people are unaware of. Even if it's something that never crossed your mind before, please don't feel bad; I don't blame anyone who never thought about it. Advocating for accessibility has been part of my life since I was a young child. My goal is just to provide a different perspective that may open someone's mind to a way of life unfamiliar to them.)

Absolutely beautiful and amazing . 💙 I cn truly appreciate your dedication and completely understand the intensive labor and strength such a project demands. 🌹 I am 76 years old and yard work has become extremely challenging for my body. Need to take a couple minute breaks after only aroun 10 - 15 minutes mowing or weeding, edging, etc. 🌹 So fulfilling and inspirational to watch you and your special equipment and tools work your magic. 💙 God bless you for your service. 🥀🙏🥀

Coming to a neighborhood near you! Spencer goes everywhere. You never know where he will be. This has to be one of the craziest sidewalk reveals yet. And how crazy is it that she nor some of the neighbors don't have curbs? 😮 Spence is amazing. Blessing to you and your family 🙏🏽
You are a great Neighbor in the sense that you saw something that would make a neighborhood look and feel better. You did it not expecting anything but a big job well done! It was worth doing because You knew it was. This neighborhood looks and feels nicer and may well have less vandalism and less trash thrown around because it looks like people care. Now people can use that instead of walking in the street. You have made a difference!
No way! The neighbor was so nice coming over to let you know how long that sidewalk was buried. Over 20 years, if he moved in 20 years ago. And the curbs were so bad. I'm surprised the city never said anything about the sidewalk and curbs. My town would have been issuing fines left and right. My town would also make the owner fix the broken sidewalk. If done correctly, they could pour right over the old sidewalk instead of digging it out as well. Not the case in my town. We have to dig out the broken areas and put in new. All those hidden expenses of owning a home. I, like you, fixed up our yard for family functions. We had several trees around 250 years old, and some only 75-100 years old. Sunshine and shade all day. It was a beautiful yard. ❤😊 Great job Spencer. The neighbors and owner are deeply touched by your hands and generosity. ❤😊

Look at the neighbouring properties in the drone shots. Look at the trees and the pathways on the other properties. This isn't a city sidewalk. "Spencer later discovered a previous owner trucked in hundreds of lbs of top soil, and spent hundreds of $$ on grass seed to cover up the broken sidewalks.." From that and what the other neighbour said, and the state of that wheelchair access ramp, which has itself clearly seen better days, and of the front porchway, it is a distinct possibility that a previous owner built the pathway as a decorative vanity feature for the property, and possibly even the wheelchair access ramp too. But it clearly has not been covered up. The grass was growing unevenly following the cracks, not evenly from having turf laid down or some such. It had just been left to decay. There are a lot of comments here about Spencer having made a tripping hazard. On the contrary: It clearly was already a tripping hazard decades ago when the wheelchair access ramp was built. The old pathway does not seem to have been well built in the first place. Notice in the drone shots how the neighbours do not have flat lawns. This old pathway was probably not built with a very good flat foundation.

@@Chris_Comments Not sure about the US but in Europe you tend to have rules where your property line is to the street BUT the city requires a sidewalk. And if any work is done, like a total rebuild of the sidewalk, everybody in that street pays part of the costs for their portion. So if you have a corner property, you enjoy a nice big bill, vs a single sidewalk / less wide home. Again, depends on the country but we have had those nice bills when they redid the sidewalk. Nothing for the street itself as that is public but the sidewalk is "your" property... where your forced to have a sidewalk, yep, bill! There is also a issue of responsibility. If that sidewalk we see above, somebody trips because of its damaged state, it can fall back on the house owner.
