I understand that the video is limited to 10 min but it would be nice to see a quick/simple solution to avoid these. Just adding like an extra sentence or something like you did with the taxi meter scam one would suffice.

You forgot one of the stupidest ones, where a person dressed up as a character gets in close to you for a picture then demands payment

me and my family traveled to NYC for Christmas, and a Minnie costume-ee literally put her arm over her shoulder even though she went ‘no thanks’ to try and force photo- and don’t forget the fake monks there too

Making the victim of the spiked drink a male was very nice- so many people think women are the only ones who get spiked and we’re not. Men can just as easily be victims, and unfortunately, they’re more likely to not seek help after out of shame. It’s a terrible thing but I appreciate it being brought to light here.

More dangers: people dressed as famous characters like superheroes offer a free picture, before then charging you for the pic. 2: Monk scams: someone dresses like a monk and offers you a bracelet that they say is free, and even if you don’t agree, they’ll try and give it to you anyways. And then similarly to the picture scam, they then try to charge you for it.

Also someone whose dressed like poor homeless person begging for money, some of them actually far from poor financially (Sometimes even owned a big house with some cars on it). To distinguish between actual poor homeless and scammer, we tried to gave them food instead (Not the luxury one, just tasty enough to make stomatch full), and look at their reaction.

If you're going to stay in a hotel, ask the receptionist to check the taxi bill. I work in a Paris hotel and one day a guest was charged an extortionate price from airport. The guest demanded a receipt but the driver got scared, went back to his car and drove off without being paid!

1. Spiked drinks are a pretty big problem in Japan. Especially in the Roppongi area. Japan's defamation laws also make it really hard to report on these. Because the law only uses monetary or reputational damage and not truth it can be very hard to write a review warning against a dangerous bar. 2. Rental scams, if you are in Pattaya Thailand always make sure to keep some water on you, some of the more shady jet-ski rental companies will use paint to cover up minor damage and will then demand payment for "repairs" to keep the tourist police number with you at all times in Thailand. 3.For taxi meter scams if you are traveling in southeast Asia Grab and Bolt generally have the best coverage in terms of taxi service and they inform you the price before you should even get in Uber or Lyft do not generally work in South East Asia. The only variable that may change is if your Taxi driver decides to take a toll road, but 1 they should inform you and it should not exceed 60 bhat as of 2024. 4. Booking accommodation scams in Thailand are mostly done on FB and are targeted at locals, but if you are the type to want to be "authentic/immersed" in the culture be very careful as the popular resorts will normally have some clonned FB account. Normally the genuine one will have a warning on the page about fake accounts.

Just want to say to those now feeling discouraged about travel: don’t be. Yep, these scams are real, but as long as you’ve done a little bit of research on your destination, and maintain a little vigilance you’ll be fine. Unless you’re very experienced and comfortable with it otherwise, stick to the tourist heavy areas at least the first time you visit. In a lot of countries the police/feds heavily guard these areas, essentially telling the mafia/gangs/thieves, “This is our money.”

Not sure if you've touched on it before, but for an idea in your next diseases video I'd reccomend Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) I suffered from it as a kid and its some freaky stuff when you look into the little important things it destroys

There is an official Taxi site in Bangkok. Follow the signs, they will not rip you off.

Tip for some of these: Dress like a poor bum and not like a wealthy tourist to not catch the eyes of the scammers. Or do like many people and me: stay in your Country (I know it seems lame for some but you don'thave to travel to enjoylife at the fullest).
