The US should definitely consider this. They’re replacing the hmmwv with the JLTV for all combat roles. But they say they’re going to keep the hmmwv for everything else. If they are going to keep it for all rear echelon duties, it makes sense to upgrade them to this standard as well. Maybe with more power because the 250hp is still a bit ridiculous

I think they will still use the humvee because the C-17 can carry 10 humvees compared to 2 JLTVs per trip. I dunno if those 10 humvees were armored or not.

It's not an mrap, but as long as it can handle deep mud, river crossings, steep sand dunes and narrow path ways...

why doesn't AM General just sell the JLTV B-RVO to the international market??? even though it lost to Oshkosh JLTV I am sure not every country in the world will want the Oshkosh model.

Operational Time to Maintenance Time was outrageously awful with the HMMWVE! We are talking 8h of maintenance for 1h of driving time! Plus the flat bottom death trap design. I get it, it was not designed as an mine resistant troop carrier, but please, why call it an "evolution"?

got us through and continues to get us through wars. modern war got rougher and the the humvee struggled, but still hung in there.

Looks like they are doing things the Russian way, i.e. improve what you already have.

Not cool at all. They could come up with so many better improvements than that. They should have just started out with a new complete vehicle build they could have used the same footprint at the Humvee took and redesigned everything to something which makes more elastic sense to the modern technology we have nowadays. It's a shame they kept the same engine as well cuz that thing is a dog. The transmission upgrade is a good one, the increase in suspension capability is a good one and a quicker ctis but really they could add so much more if they just started from scratch.

The vehicle is crap. No survival rate when hit with a ied. The interior was too small to move around and to get into and out of the vehicle. The performance was bad and too noisy. The clearance of the vehicle was too low. The MATV was 1000 percent better in all aspects.

Pete N glad you were safe in MRAPS, but the army is now in its enduring fleet which is around 8,222 MRAPS vehicles. That’s clearly not enough vehicles for the next war, because the JLTV is not in full rate Production. Soldiers will still be using up armored Humvees. Might as well give them the best Humvee you can. Did soldiers prefer the MaxxPro or Cougars MRAPS?
