@@suqfuq5931 it's certainly is, what do you think ot is if it's not an h1. Also the tires are 37x12s stock and give 30 inches of clearance with it being independent suspension the brake rotors are also not mounted by the tires but the inside end of the axle which is pretty cool so your not ripping out brake lines mudding. I know because I have one. The mechanics are mostly Chevy parts.

Florida Rule - Never hit mud slowly. As a lifelong Jeep owner (7 now), I am utterly blown away by how that HMMWV just absolutely REFUSED to quit moving, even though every experience I've ever had in my life said it should have bogged to the ground in the holes the driver dug it into. What an extraordinary piece of engineering.

The HMMV was not built/designed to be great at any one thing, instead they were built/designed to do everything good. Some of the design features that make it capable are but not limited to how wide the vehicle is, it is built that way too make it more stable on and off road. Another feature is it's independent suspension front and rear. They choose independent suspension so they could give the vehicle as much ground clearance as possible without changing the vehicles center of balance. Then they optimizer the ground clearance by adding portal axles which greatly improved the overall ground clearance and gave more wheel well clearance so they could fit a 38" tire which again helps increase the ground clearance. The other great thing about portal axle is that it lowers the gear ratio which makes it easier to turn the larger wheels and tires and helps reduce stress on the transmission and helps the transmission alot once they add armor to the vehicle (base hmmv weights 5,200lbs and the up-armored hmmv weights (gross) 12,000lbs i loved being a 63B (all wheeled Diesel mechanic) in the military cause i got to drive all the different military vehicles i did it for 8 years.

I was a passenger in a HMMV that got stuck. We were following a path that an APC half-track made around our company area. The muddy water hid just how deep it was, and when we came to our final stop, I looked out my window to see nothing but a wall of mud. It was on both sides of the vehicle. A 5 TON with a winch pulled us out. Makes me wonder how awesome a track vehicle would do here.

I got in far enough to get all four wheels stuck in their own little holes up to the height of the floor. I couldn’t move an inch forward or back. I thought the humvee was invincible but there are limits I realized. Plus I was stupid for doing that:) Anything can get stuck if you don’t know what you’re doing. When the jeep got stuck the first time we all knew he wasnt going to make it, was way deeper then the video shows so he just creeped into it and bottomed out like we all knew would happen, but for shits and giggiles he went in anyways. Then the humvee part we all looked at how deep it was and was like nope, then he said well i dont think ill make it but lets give it a go. So not knowing how soft the bottom was or how deep it truly was he went in easy. So it was only 10 minutes of a whole weekend we showed. New tires would help, but do the right thing and just “psssssssstt” a little air out the tires and that oughta be just fine!!! Lol great video. Btw, the Jeep needs a higher lift, it’s basically a bottom-out queen.

Yes sir airing down would have helped a lot, and the jeep was easy to bottom out with the 33s lol it didnt take much. After this trip we started carrying a air pump so when we headed out we could air back up, this trip we didnt have one at the time and was more worried about the 15 mile trip to the nearest gas station with 20pis so we opted out of airing down.

That thing is a monster. It weight a ton but it has more power than his weight. That's how a 4x4 should be now you have things that weight a lot and doesn't have anything of torque. Even some older cars even not being 4x4 are better than some of the actuals 4x4 driving for tough roads because they don''t weight nothing and they are simple the engine as much more power than the weight of the car and the tires are pretty slim.

We do to, it just depends on the area. This was a off road park so there is no knowing how deep that hole was just by looking. If it was in a field with clear water and we can see the bottom then yes we would have hit it like that. But this was in summer and the hole was still full of water, in Texas this isnt a common thing. So standing water with clay at a off road park we were taking it easy, being able to go to a park and take it easy will teach you how to drive in the real world while in the middle of nowhere. As slow as possible as fast as needed. That is how we learn what the rig can and can not do along with what holes and speed. This was just a fun weekend of playing and testing.

I've found people do it different all over the country. I'm from Wisconsin and people from the Midwest know how to drive because conditions are often much worse. In the southwest people pull over when it rains simply because they never even see that. First time I saw rain there I asked my passenger why everybody was pulled over and was told the rain and that I was crazy. I never laughed so hard inmy life but I've actually seen people pull over to look at Mud puddles there. It averages 2 inches of rain per year in most of the Mojave.

@@Power5 yep been off roading my whole life, been out in Tacoma's, jeep, broncos, z71, ram himes, rangers, land rovers, atv, uts, Humvees, 4 runners, frontiers. You name it and from AT to MT and no matter the rig without the right tires your fucked everytime. I dont care what anyone will say on here, there is all kinds of different terrains soil, sand, snow, gray clay, red clay, rock, gravel, shell, if you dont have the rubber even with both diffs locked up your still fucked. MT will get you stuck in sand fast as shot from digging instead of rolling. AT will get you stuck in clay the tread in to tight to clear the sticky clay in the tracks even with high wheel speed, airing down helps yes but all you fucking clowns act like its the end all be all fix and its not there is a lot more at play then airing down. And driving fast? Sure if you want to dive into a hole you dont know how deep it is and just take the chance of breaking shit or flooding out go for it, but ill play it safe with as slow as possible and fast as needed, once this Texas clay gets wet after getting hard all summer and is packed in hard it becomes ice when wet, it will pack your tread and have as mutch traction as driving on glass with oil spilled on it But thanks for watching 👍
