Euro NCAP Crash & Safety Tests of BYD TANG 2023

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Euro NCAP performs a series of crash and safety tests on car models:
▶ a frontal impact test where 50% of the width of the car strikes an oncoming deformable barrier, travelling at 50 km/h
▶ a frontal impact test where the car impacts a full-width rigid barrier
▶ a side impact test where a mobile deformable barrier impacts the driver's door
▶ a pole test where the car is propelled sideways into a rigid pole and the robustness of the centre airbag is evaluated
▶ a whiplash test performed on a sled.
A series of pedestrian tests are also conducted with different impactors : adult and child head form, lower and upper leg form. As well as AEB pedestrian and cyclist tests. In 2023 a test scenario for Cyclist Dooring Prevention was introduced.
Active safety is rated based on the performance of the car’s equipment: autonomous emergency braking car-to-car and car-to-motorcycle scenarios, occupant status monitoring (including seatbelt reminders, fatigue, distraction and impairment), lane support and speed assistance technologies.

I have the same feeling. One of my former workmates died in a traffic accident due to a side crash.

73% for safety assist? BYD has a lot to learn from Toyota for safety assist. It's really bad!

HAH? Average value, in fact still much better than VW and Toyota electric vehicles. They can only make gimmick cars, fake ranges, crap technology plus very bad safety aspects.

Frankly spoken: Don't trust chines brand, period. If the government tells chinese companys to let them see into their books and the data of their customers, Data privacy is out of the window quicker than one can say "man in front of tank on a square somehwere in Beijing". There is a reason google and other American companys don't want their softwares on Xiaomi phones. And we all know tiktok is just a spysoftware. Addionally Teslas are forbidden to be near political important buildings, in fear of spying on them. They fear that what they are doing to the rest of the world, is been done to them.

it seems that Volkswagen disagrees with you (they bought xpeng a chinese brand)

@@cocoaiscool2709 I am not up to date with VW. Do you know if they just bought shares (the government usually doesn't let you buy more than 49% of the shares, so the other 51% can stay in chinese hands) or the whole brand? If it's the whole brand VW could argue that it's now a European company, and if that brand is only for the Chinese, or Asian market I wouldn't be concerned, frankly spoken.

@@cocoaiscool2709 Then I guess VW just bought shares, not the whole company. Can't wait for the concern of privacy groups and the realisation that there a back doors in xpeng's software.

What makes you think that? Most of European ev’s like VW and Volvo use Chinese batteries and technology. Chinese cars have come very far, and they are very safe. I own a BYD Han here in UAE and it is so comfortable and everything feels of good quality, and range is good too. Please don’t state things like this when you probably havent even seen a Chinese car before.

@@fingfing6743 Volso is not a European brand anymore, it has been bought by the Chinese company Geely and it's now the parent company. And do your research on the internet, they are stories with people having problems with Chinese cars, problems of poor build quality and reliability, if the majority of reviews are like this then I don't need to drive one to know how it is. Besides this, I would not recommend anyone to buy and support a company that is from a communist country, like China, they should respect human rights.

Puya008, you mentioned the word European, it's a very broad term. Apart from Germany, can your country in Europe make a safe and reliable car if you don't mind me asking and since China can do it now I am assuming it's a piece of cake task to other European states , of course, apart from Germany.
