I mean... that's about when my depression went from irrational sadness to full on self destruction, with February 2012 being one of my worst periods of mental health for... 'unfortunate reasons' that I'm sure you can figure out yourself. So... yeah, I guess not. Although, I would probably blame 2013 more for my depression going chronic and self-reinforcing. I might have made a full recovery if I hadn't been hit with a life-changing injury as well :/

Yeah, we are in a golden age of peace and prosperity, historically speaking. if we want to go by old tyme numbers, 2 out of every 3 people will die violently at the hands of another human. This was back in the stone age times. Humans even managed to outdo disease and animals combined back then.

There is no reason to feel pity for people like Camping. He could have stepped down like 20 years earlier and lived a full, happy life with his family, enjoying his immense wealth, surrounded by loved ones. Instead he tapped into his delusions, surrounded himself with a bunch of yes-men and ruined his company, many people's lives and turned something like religion, which ideally should help people find solace and peace into something terrible and hurtful. The tale is as old as time as well. Old f*ckers not understanding when it's time to stop and drag their own legacy and many people's lives down with their vanity. There should be a ban for peole over 70 to hold any leadership position anywhere. These people can barely drive a car well, yet speak to millions, lead nations, rule over massive companies and so on. It's honestly starting to piss me off a bit at this point.
