At 6:49 I'm the guy on the forklift. During that time, we were working non-stop to load the trucks with TP. People didnt need to panic, we had a whole warehouse of the stuff. Primarily the media's fault for causing it, as well as people just not thinking straight. I did feel tempted to make a giant throne of pallets though.

The toilet paper kurfluffle actually made my mum laugh hard the only change she did with the shopping was to buy a single bag before it ran out in the local shopping centre and my brother and I grabbed a bag each, we normally have 2 bags of 20 stocked up, so we had 5 bags of 20 stocked up and glad that we did because we were down to 10 rolls left before we could get more bags Edit: the jiggle tho

So here´s the funny part. I live in a Paper producing region, Rhineland Palatinate. And EVEN HERE people fell for it. That was probably the most obnoxious hoax of all time. Because.... Lumber is basically worthless. By Transporting it you can double or triple it´s value, depending on your location. So Australia buying Lumber from another Continent, makes no sense. And the notion of a Country like Russia, Canada or Germany running OUT of paper, is absolutely ridiculous. But even with a Papermill in the next town over and SURROUNDED by trees that are mostly MEANT to be harvested for paper... People saw it in the news, and they took it for a fact, when that is not how the news have worked for two decades or something.

I remember the big buy-out of toilet paper, I bought one pack and walked home from supermarket only to have people shout at me for buying toilet paper. The reason why I was buying it cause there's a family staying over my house soon.

I caught it twice. The first time I caught covid was straight after lock-down lifted, it felt like a very bad fever. Then the second time I caught after Christmas after the THIRD lock-down was lifted and it felt like a chest infection. I worked in isolation during both of then. Sitting up-right at a computer/on the phone Directing logistic as I was the only one ''Alive'' to do it. I stated to H&R. That both break-outs was because of the ''Temp'' staff they hired to handle the over-flow of shipping and delivery's. I never saw them wear a mask or sanitise during the hole time they were with us. IH brings me joy and high-lights the stupid idiocy that people do and makes everyone question were or not we are worth more than a potato.

Possible solution: Get a bidet seatlet installed in your toilet.

Oh yeah the toilet paper thing was such a dumb panic, especially where I live. Here in finland, a relatively huge part of our entire economy is forestry and paper production... I hope people see where this is going. People panic bought all the toilet paper they could for absolutely no reason. The producers sure made a whole lot of money when they had to ramp up their production and run the machines day and night.

Shipping costs a lot of money. I can't really blame them for not paying like crazy to ship away for free.

Man, I kind of miss 2020. Nobody (and I do mean nobody) I knew got sick or died, everybody cowering in their homes meant my commute got cut in half. I spent 2020 sitting in a excavator. Fun times.

One simple fact, Toilet paper will be GOLD in an apocalypse. ALL of our butts wont survive without it.

In my family only my mom and her brother caught it, and it was a mild case for them, neither had to go to the ICU, my mom caught it in a trip I told her numerous time not to go, my dad called and said they were coming back because she was sick, if I wasn't very worried I would've said a very long "I told you so", but don't worry as soon as they were back and she was in the clear I made sure to drill the "I told you so" in their minds

The jab was a weird thing where the side effects seemed to hit people with strong immune systems the worst, but people at risk barely had any side effects, which then made them think everyone complaining was just a wuss unable to handle a sore arm for a few hours.. For me it was a two day straight migraine that kept me from sleeping for over 60 hours. Both times. Never went for a booster after that

You know it's that serious that even a kangaroo is stealing toilet paper

Covid wasn't too bad for me. Mostly some congestion. The absolute worst part was not being able to smell or taste for 2 weeks.

The thing about the toilet paper is that you have to understand how aggressively stupid people can be at the slightest inconvenience. Us Americans, especially. We have a long history of anti-intellectual tendencies and an almost knee-jerk reaction to any sort of authority says... anything. That's how we went from a scientific and economic superpower in the 40s and 50s, to electing a washed up conman of a reality TV personality and having a rather large number of people who believe the earth is flat again.
