22:00 yea the spike field where they store a bunch of nuclear waste is an intersting thing but lets be honest if the world ends and a new people arise and find out i'm willing to bet they will see it as a challenge not a warning "oh look this place is so unique and clearly built but those who came before, there must be some great treasure in it"
I know people war tired of it but i have to remind people thats its not a silencer, its a suppressor. It doesn't cancel out the sound it just suppresses it.
@indiana47
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is a silencer. It is also a suppressor. Both terms are acceptable and refer to the same thing. The guy who invented them in 1902 called them silencers on his patent. I know they suppress and not silence, but both names apply.

@@blacktemplarbrotherlucius1935 yeah, in my opinion, I don't really think it matters which name is used as long as you know what it does. I think more of the misinterpretation of them comes from movie portrayals than the name.

It's also more about suppressing recoil than report. Makes it a lot safer to aim at multiple targets in rapid succession.
I think a problem of communicating anything to aliens is greatly explored in Stanislav Lem's stories. Since the aliens might not have a concept of "words", and have developed their own means of communication, we won't be able to talk to them. If aliens even have their own architecture, it doesn't mean we and them have similar concepts tied to similar architectural structures. And so on.

Personally I think that if mankind encountered sapient aliens we would wipe them out for their land. We do the same to our species, and that's _our own_ species.

Yeah the in the field videos are quite chaotic but also a lot of fun 🤩🤩🤩

I can spiritually feel the editor's pain as these two nimrods talk about weapons. Being kind of a mediaeval weaponry buff myself, that segment was... hard to get through.

Also For people or aliens viewing earth from however many lightyears away from earth, to them dinosaurs could still be real because light has yet to reach where they are, so they could visit earth thinking they saw dinosaurs but once they get here because light has less distance to travel the dinosaurs are gone and its 2023 haha.

@@erinyabucky Right?! How interesting is that, because light travels at a certain rate, if you were to look at Earth from however many lightyears away, humans would not exist yet, dinosaurs would still exist because light hasn't travelled that far to the point humans existed, this is because light that hit and reflected off the earth in those eras is still travelling through space. So if you continuously watched Earth and travelled towards it you could in theory if such a device existed watch earth's history fast forward through time haha
As someone who watches a lot of videos on middieval weaponry, I am glad they called out the scythe for being trash. Nunchuks are also garbage. Swords are also not very effective against armor and not used on battlefields as much as other weapons, but were very popular because they were easy to carry with you and have for self defense. They were the weapon you strap to your waist to fight off muggers in the market. My pick is bec de corbin.
8:53 You can't unsee what has been seen 😂
12:40 in New Zealand we have these little local shops they usually sell the basics but mostly food, we call them Dairys. They sell cheap bags of candy, it's kind of a part of growing up in New Zealand, every nabor hood has a local Dairy.

with the medieval part, there would be a few weapons i would choose like a mace, would love a warhammer but be disappointed when it doesn't have a cinder block square for a head, maybe even a few others, but that stick with a chicken on it would be my choice 'eat this chicken with me and we shall kill each other with full stomach's' lol

get a "bec de corbin" (ravensbeak warhammer). or a halberd
@rayanderson5797

It depends heavily on what sort of enemies your fighting. Unarmored or lightly armored? Can't beat the flexibility of a sword. (I myself am partial to the curved, single-edged ones such as sabers) But if your opponents have armor, you're going to want something different. A mace is ideal, flanged preferably not spiked. A shield for the off-hand, or possibly a dagger if you're confident, because it can be used to target the gaps. If you are also in heavy armor, you can forgo the shield and use something two-handed. The extra leverage will give you the power to smash through armor, and a bec de corbin or poleax will be preferable.
@BioClay88
Жыл бұрын
@@rayanderson5797 i could still stab you with the spear end of the bec, if you're un- or lightly armored. swords are great though. reach is greater though. scottish claymore, or zweihander - can still be outdone by polearms. and yes, always the side-arm dagger for the gaps.

3:50 The funny thing is there *was* an elite gay army in Ancient Greece. The Sacred Band of Thebes was 150 pairs of male lovers. They played a major role in the outnumbered Theban army defeating the Spartans, ending Sparta's dominance of the Greek Peninsula; the Sacred Band was unfortunately wiped out by Alexander the Great's father 33 years later.
2:39 Your voice reminds me of the Russian female voice stereotype plus Chinese and Japanese 😂 like mei from overwatch, it's kinda cute haha 😂
There actually was a historical gay army. It was the Sacred Band of Thebes which consisted of 150 gay couples.
