Hands down, one of the greatest opening scenes (and pilots) of any recent tv show. Perfectly captures the mood and ambience.

The pilot often is. It's an advertisement to the TV channels to pick up the TV show. So you'll see the 1st episode often a bit off.

This show is the life blood of memories and it’s just amazing.

Great opening scene! Foreshadows a lot of things to come. I listen to 'Smash' go on and on about himself... he's so full of it. His character becomes a good story line, a hidden gem... especially when you see more of the Brian Williams come out as a person vs 'Smash' (the no-so-invincible cocky football jock). It's one of dozens of examples of why the show is about so much more than HS football. That's what makes it one of the GOAT TV series (all 5 seasons). Watch it and enjoy (again and again if you wish)!

I agree with you but man we’re lucky we even got a season 3-5. Season 2 almost killed it all. If only they would have finished season 2🥺

Every show seems to be getting a youtube channel now! This show had a huge impact on me. Loved it.

jason was guaranteed to be a star. a lot of foreshadowing and growth in this clip alone. i wish we got a full episode with jason as qb. his injury changed the fates of everyone on the show.

I love Matt Saracen, but it would have been interesting to see street, smash, and riggins together. They might not have lost a game.

Cam Novak to be honest they were on their way to losing the first game. Street threw a pick and the tackle caused his injury. To avoid the injury he would’ve had to not have gone for the tackle which would’ve lead to the other team scoring on the interception which ultimately ended the game

This tv show is one of my all time favorites. It is way better than the movie ever was.

I really hope they do good on this series remake because shows like this are special

I was hooked on this show from this pilot. Gosh I'm getting old 🤣 during the first season, iTunes let you download the pilot for free onto your iPod. I borrowed somebody's and watched this and the rest is history 🤣

Season 4 Introduced so many plot holes Julie and Laundry were clearly sophomores in season 1 but they woulda had 0 familiar characters cause everyone was a sophomore or junior in season 1

Just started watching this show and really like it. But can someone explain Coach Taylor's origin? Some scenes he and his family are new in town and no one knows them. Then others he has been there for years (been coaching Street and was the Jr high coach). Which is it?

I'm guessing he was a JV coach or something. However, on the wiki page of Coach Taylor it says he came from being an Assistant at TMU yet he then briefly goes back to be QB Coach.

A couple plot holes in this show I never understood is that Smash and Saracen were starters on supposedly the #1 HS in Texas and prob in the nation and you’re telling me that they both had trouble securing D1 scholarships like cmon

Smash got hurt in the short season 2. He had a knee injury and that scared the schools away. Why he was working out with coach in season 3, to get back into shape. He got the walk-on tryout at a&m. In season 4 and five you can see him on tv. He still was at a&m and probably got a scholarship. Saracen was benched for JD and politics in season 3. Plus he was a technical more so than flashy and a true qb. He loved art more than football. But with his grandmother, the death of his father as well as having to do so many things from a young age really ate at Matt. The way he was able to play Qb, work a part time job take care of his grandma alone and on top go to school says it all. He worked to be qb but had it taken away season 3 because of JD McCoy.

Imagine Jason street never got hurt

So Coach Taylor was stepping away from being Head Coach after one season (Granted they won State in that one season and he ended up coming back). Man.

In Texas (especially in small towns) you can drive as soon as you can reach the gas pedal and see over the dash. Braking is always optional…

Still don’t understand how Landry is driving with a license but is only a freshman

Kiera Shepherd. Honestly, everyday of School. Completely emotionally desperate or emotionally exhausted. Any kind of personal space, hair dryer, opportunity to not noise|people. Honestly wishing for some miraculous disney change to basic daily story repeat noise stress repeat barely emotionally solvent daily

The thing I hated most about this show is that Jason Street got paralyzed. If they had him injured any other way then I wouldn't have hated it.
