If this game played out as it was portrayed the refs in this game were absolutely brutal towards Permian. Tons of missed calls against Carter for unsportsmanlike conduct amongst other things but in the end they hit Permian for a weak holding call? Carter would’ve needed to be checked for paying those refs off.

According to the documentary "What Carter Lost" Dallas Carter did not play dirty and the score was low until the final minutes. It could have gone either way.

It was a sloppy game in real life. It was cold and a downpour throughout the game. The most accurate thing in the movie that really happened was the blown call of an incompletion that was ruled a catch.

The ones that weren't arrested a few months later did indeed. Jesse armsted went to the U and then pro The qb played at at Texas Tech Two of their top 3 however, Evans and I cannot recall the other, one committed to Tennesee and the other was another big name D1 school, were among those arrested Kids came from very good families and seem to be good men today, unfortunately they made a lot of very very bad decisions in a short period of time and they missed some great opportunities. The mistakes they made were not they type that could or should be brushed aside or handled with kid gloves as there were firearms involved and the threat of violence was made to one or two dozen innocent people.
