Hi Selma: I enjoy your episodes. Thank you for your creativity and walks. The hot tips for your sewing is to lengthen your stitch length and invest in a walking foot. Both will help in the puckering of the fabric. Your excitement in these projects is contagious! I especially love the salty air tee on you. Beautiful knitting on both sweaters. Enjoy your time off. Such a smart thing to do. Taking care of ourselves is very important. ❤

How I love that promise of autumn... there is a particular smell that is so comforting. We are far away from it but I am so looking forward to it. The project bag looks so fun.... a quilt would be really nice as well, just saying. The lace projects are so elegant and you wear them beautifully. Hi Selma from North Carolina! I think the walk at the end was my favorite part. What a perfect day, and a perfect place to walk, it was gorgeous! I've read all the Inspector Gamache books, they're fantastic. I've also read all the Bruno books by Martin Walker, which are set in France, very good. The Joe Pickett books by CJ Box are really good set in Wyoming. I'm knitting on the first sleeve for my Novice cardigan, I think it's going to fit and it's going to be very cozy and warm. It's mostly alpaca, the Peru yarn by Valley Yarns in the color starry night which they've discontinued. I have both sleeves to do on my Tolsta tee, I can't wait to wear it. Have a great weekend!

The Poisonwood Bible is a wonderful book imo. I read it though, so can't comment on the narrator. I get your point about switching to more wooly based knitting. Time just flies and fall will be here soon with all that scrumptious warmer yarn.

Fantastic photography on your walks, Selma! Those wild turkeys (?) looked huge! Eek. Thanks for the discussion in cotton blends. My skin is highly sensitive to most wools, but my hands don’t cope well with knitting the non-wool fibres. I a,so don’t like how cotton, and sometimes bamboo, just don’t hold their shape. Combining fibres may be the way. Love all your projects- the tea cozy turned out great and the patchwork bag…so good. I have seen several lovely Salty Air tees lately- very tempting, but like you, fall knits beckon. Glad you took some time to recuperate from the ordeal of your mum’s recovery (or lack of recovery). My mum died from multi infarct dementia (many years ago now) and her last few years were so challenging and emotional watching her slip away from the mum that I knew. Challenging, also, to know whether the decisions we are making are the best- just need to trust our gut and do what we can. Your mum is so blessed to have you advocating for her and sticking it out with her. Take care and relish the good moments! ❤

#1 -thrilled to see an episode from you today, always such great content! #2 -fabulous tea cozy and story behind it. Subtle coloring, all that I would expect from you! The bodin cozy idea sounds lovely, then you’d have a matching set, but how about doing something with your felted fabric in the way of mittens? #3- cute and creative bags and I feel your apprehension about getting back into sewing.
