Thanks for all the summer knits inspiration Selma 🤗 I often find myself knitting all types of pieces (e.g. winter, fall, spring & summer projects) all year round. Although, on the really hot and humid days of summer, I definitely gravitate towards knitting with plant fibres. Can't wait to see which tops you end up making! 💕

@@littlebigknits not yet, I got one which is some wild summery fiber blend, quite light, where I made up the pattern with a racerback and a front draped neck. Haha, after watching I pulled all my old summer shirts out.. I got a few that are short sleeved and made with a cotton viscose blend, that icord knitted type of yarn similar to one you showed. I did decide on one pattern, I’ll see when I’ll get to it. I have to finish one with crochet elements on the shoulders first! 💗

Oh so many beautiful patterns and yarns. I'm excited to see what you'll choose! It's lovely that your wrist is healing so that you can indulge your hobby without pain. I enjoy cotton in a small diameter and make a lot of facecloths in pure white so that I can bleach them - It's a great way to try new stitches and sometimes that's all I can manage to finish. Happy Monday.

Wld love your recipe for the summer top. Am just starting to think of how to use quite a bit of stash summer yarns! Your tops are both lovely, even the white. You might try a light bleach to brighten it as both cotton and linen will take the bleach. Worth the try rather than discarding.

The Lamana knitted a bit longer in the lavendar colour silk yarn would look lovely. The Siesta Tee would be nice in the darker blue or bright pink. The Andrea Mowry perhaps in the burnt orange. But not a fan of that style. The Anka Tee would be nicer. I will have to knit the Corran. The colour reminds me of a lace cardigan I knitted in my 20s for my mother who has long gone for 30 years.

I enjoyed your recap of past tees and newly favorited patterns. I made a Vellichor 2 years ago out of koigu wool and spincycle dyed in the wool. In wool it creates a warm and cushy fabric. Since it’s wool, I wear it as a vest or Slipover, but it would make a wonderful tee in a lighter weight fiber. It’s a very easy pattern, but it took a bit longer to knit than I had expected. I’m currently knitting Wild Flowers by Tif Neilan in a fingering wt merino/cotton blend. It has flown off my needles. I’m almost down to the bottom ribbing and I’ve loved every moment of knitting this pattern. I’d make it again! The pattern is very clearly written and I enjoyed the interesting shoulder design which added to the fun. I highly recommend both patterns.

What a great episode! I, too am so excited to start summer knits. I'm currently making the Pyramid in-the-round by Minimi knits in a 2 wt, cotton acrylic blend. Her sample is made in a wool and I prefer no wool during warm weather but wanted elasticity in the yarn. I do love the cotton/wool blend but for fall/spring. It is very warm and humid where I live. Your summer top showcase is wonderful! So many ideas. I think the pink mesh top would look fantastic on you!

I always enjoy your podcasts Selma - you're an amazing inspiration - each FO and started project is a beauty! Yikes, I'm just about to finish the raglan and start the body of my first Lento, I need to figure out how to (if possible) avoid that issue; like you, I didn't look at a huge number of completed projects on Ravelry prior to the start (although I remember thinking I wish the schematic was more detailed). 🧶It was interesting to hear how you're choosing projects for the Nutiden yarn, I have some in stash and am anxious to select the appropriate patterns - this insight is helpful. Have a great spring and thanks for another great episode ❤

I think the issue is likely mostly due to the yarn. I think a more drapey yarn would not cause such a problem and also a size with less ease. And thank you 😊😊

You give me such inspiration! I, too, am in a blue yarn stage right now. Some of your summer yarns would be lovely in a top that's a favorite of mine...check out Urchin by Libby Jonson. I've knit two so far and find them very wearable in a cotton/linen blend or all linen yarn. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh I like the Ankers. Just FYI you might want to consider adding short rows. It feels a bit high on the neck in the front but that could have just been my tension making it too tight at the top. Just a thought. :)

Thanks for this inspiring video. The Flex is on top of my list and I have the same yarn (Lino by Lang). The Velichor is a wonderful knit! I often wear it as a vest in spring and autumn over a long sleeved Tee or even a blouse. I can only recommend it ❤ It will be a nice new item in your vest collection

So much summer knitting inspiration! Are you familiar with the designer Hinterm Stein? Her designs are so beautiful…very modern and elegant. I have her Beyond the Dunes pattern but have yet to knit it. It calls for DK weight and has a cool shoulder detail. It looks like it’s on sale now for 25% off.

Thank you for a great episode to inspire our summer knitting. I love a lot of your summer knits, especially the Daring, Jana 2, Talulah and Nila tops. I made the Rota Sleeveless Top and absolutely love it! I made it with Sandnes Garn Line. There is a sweater version that I am interested in making too. Have a great few weeks, and I can’t wait to see what your summer knit will be. Cheers!

Loved all the summer recommendations! Planning to visit Ottawa sometime in probably May. My daughter-in-law just started knitting and wants to take me to the yarn shops in Ottawa. I was telling her about the ones that you have recommended before in your podcast.

I have a pure cotton yarn I have purchased. I wonder if I could add a light linen as an extra strand and get gauge for worsted. It is a sport weight yarn. I have not found pattern for guage I get in swatch and linen may add structure. Can't wait to hear what patterns you choose.

Alrightey darling ma'am, I've watched many of your recent vlogs and I really must know (specifically, please!) where you bought the silver earrings you've been wearing on camera since your NM trip. I was there with family about 2 years back and now wish I'd purchased some as well -- but I did buy local paintings, pottery, spices and yarn!

They were in a gallery in Taos called the ranch at Taos which had mostly art but some great jewelry as well. These earrings caught my eye when we were walking by and I had to back a while later because I could stop thinking about them

Hi Selma, such beautiful knits! Is the Butterfly yarn the EL.D. Mouzakis Butterfly Super-10 by any chance? I used to be able to buy that at The Mill End Store in Milwaukie, Oregon years ago but now I can’t find it. Such gorgeous yarn and so nice to work with. 🌷🪻🌸🌻🌹
