That was a fantastic episode Barnesy, some great info for everyone else. Loved the KBS sound deadener and how it looked easy to fit. Great of them to support you. Also loved that you told us about what your next plans are. Looking fantastic, not far now!

Gday Barnsey, one thing you do and is appreciated is let viewers know the cost of what bits cost, this is in no way a cheap hobby but the end result is well worth it, it’s great to see kbs is supporting the build, awesome job mate, cheers

Thanks mate, I try and keep it realistic and as you know it requires a lot of financial sacrifice plus a huge amount of spare time to restore a car.

Most likely $30-35k + tools that he started with barely any of. Engine + Auto would be the bulk of it.

we also added sound deadener to the inside walls of tub, both sides, not all of it but just bits and pieces just to quieten the door close noise as well as drum. The gauge I miss out of all of my cars is the vacuum gauge that my skyline had, could always tell the state of tune of the engine and fuel usage, no turbo fitted, but it was so handy.

That's not a bad idea, I was going to do the doors but had not thought about the inside of the quarter panels. Love the old skyline as well!

Was throwing the stone down the hole at the start a visual metaphor of a money pit 😂 I know restoring anything can sometimes feel like throwing cash in a money pit. One day when your old you may want to take on a small restoration job, maybe you could restore the ceiling fan with an old car you had laying around 😂 happy Easter, keep em coming 👍

It was a bit random I know😂 basically I include snippets of what I've been doing, I found an old mine shaft that was just an open trap for someone to fall in. Extremely dangerous so I was testing how deep it was. Maybe that fan will get it's fix one day but will live on forever in my Ute!

G'day Barnsey. Loving the build and the series. Great to see the Aussie content. I would be really keen to get hold of one of the rubber "spare wheel winch hole covers" that you showed in the video for my own HJ Ute resto. Can you share where you got it from ? Great idea. Always looking forward to the next install. Cheers, Pete.

Hey Peter, thanks 👍 I am looking at getting some more produced so will hopefully get them done in the next few weeks. I plan on producing a few unicorn parts with some new small run manufacturing methods as I feel there's a lot of those floating around at the moment. I will post in the next couple of episodes as to when these will eventuate.

Hey mate, love the build been following since day 1, great to see the progress you make each time learning yourself each time. just a heads up as well that shifter you have is out of a TE gemini, would still work but not the original WB ute shifter! also wondering where the 'Hell yeah" hat is from keep up the great work Mate

  • @BarnesysBuilds

Thanks Matt, someone did mention about the shifter, the Ute was certainly put together in an interesting way! Maybe those shifters were better than the stock WB ones. Not sure. The whole drive train came out of a WB statesman I'm pretty sure but they must've swapped out the shifter. The hat is from FYXO cycling, came in a showbag and is just a great hat.
