    Buddy, I'm up to this episode and it has been so inspirational I have started rebuilding my HX wagon. I have taken the chassis off and am now so excited to do this project. I owe you for the inspiration that this video channel has given. I have not touched my car for about 7 years and its been sitting there waiting. Thanks so much, I watch them every night. Keep up the good work mate!

    A little trick you can use when filling small holes, use a block of copper behind it, the weld wont stick to it and it absorbs some of the heat, so no blow outs👍 keep up the great work

    Yes Charcoal canister. Part of the car's emissions controls, this charcoal-filled canister's job is to absorb fuel vapor that would otherwise vent out to the atmosphere, causing pollution. Vapors trapped by the charcoal are released back into the engine through the purge valve and then burned.

    I have the same fascination with the bonnet and nose cone, especially the WB Statesman Caprice. I also love the rear quarters when you get them right, showing the arch from the back to just behind the fuel filler cap. Fond of a nice straight tailgate too.....ahhh who am I kidding? I just love the whole thing. Keep up the good work mate. Love the burnishing tool too. I've been doing a lot of work on other peoples' cars but hoping I should be right to get into mine in April.

    Yes I agree the sweeping line on that rear quarter is a beautiful feature of these Utes as well. It's amazing how many people ask about that tool, it's an absolute staple for any workshop I reckon. Good luck with the on going build mate! I'm aiming for a Feb finish. Fingers crossed

    The plastic plugs are to hold rubber sheets, which stops dirt from the wheels spraying into the engine bay. The canister is a carbon filter for the fuel tank breather to supposedly stop petrol fumes getting into the atmosphere. The rubber sheets can be purchased from rare spares.

    on re assembly having a plastic pop rivet kit is really handy, that problem with the gun sounds like the fluid tip had an air leak maybe needs a tighten up. dont leave the guns to soak in thinners it can bugger up the needle seal. looking good, first time i seen your stuff. if you going to be sanding bog on the bonnet go lightly with the block/DA you can end up pushing down/ vibrating the bonnet skin down far enough that the frame underneath will put low spots in the filler, yeah low spots, not careful you could end up chasing a penny size dent all over the bonnet

    Cheap guns are ok to use, if you can't get it clean ask a spray joint to give it a good clean for you. Immediately after use spray some straight thinners through, then use "gun wash" it's thinners and an acid, to wash all the parts including needle etc, reassemble. Then spray an amount of thinners through again to make sure it's clean and spraying properly

  • @BarnesysBuilds

    @BarnesysBuilds

    4 жыл бұрын

    Thanks mate, the issue was from the start I had not fully disassembled the gun for cleaning so it had built up around the needle. Now I know I would do that every time. Its been a great gun but for the price, I might see if it can be salvaged. Cheerf

    @@RayPlant77 yeah I am going to start stocking them I think, they are a great tool, very under rated and under represented. Yeah you can buy the metalx blades on eBay. Link is in the description on the last episode. If your wanting really accurate panel cuts still use fibre, if your just removing panel rust metal or cutting thicker metal then metalx are great. They leave a burr and cut wider than fibre discs but if your happy with that then they are a perfect disc to lock onto a grinder and leave it on there for months.
