    I own a Livewire, but I must say, I laud energica for having the balls to make a bike in the one category that would highlight electric motorcycle's limited range - an adventure-tourer. Go electric!

    If you’re going under 60 mph then the range will be amazing. Sure that sounds like cold comfort to people envisioning Iron Butting the interstate, but if you’re going off road or riding south of the border where the speeds are much lower, this bike makes a lot of sense. I’ve ridden down there and you rarely go far and fast in one day. Fast chargers may be lacking, but just charge the bike overnight from a common outlet at the hostel and you’re good by the morning.

    I'm glad to see another faired electric motorcycle presented to the market (vs the Zero SR/S). I would like to see a more streamlined option. The highway range of 130 miles could probably be boosted to 150 miles with a rounder luggage option.

  • @slartybartfarst9737

    @slartybartfarst9737

    I agree some one needs to have the balls to intergrate the luggage system so take advantage of the the aero capability instead of bloody great ugly leaky square boxes stuck up in the breeze. I used to run Honda ST1100 which was partly there always respected the Pacific Coast. Just like EV cars are getting the aero sorted bikes need to do it now, aero is the future look.

    Looks really nice, but.... why a chain drive? Having to constantly adjust and lube a chain seems like the opposite of what I want in an electric bike...

  • @simmottos

    @simmottos

    2 жыл бұрын

    I need to adjust the chain every 9000kms on my ktm 890. Automatic chain luber means that I need to add lube every 4000kms to the reservoir. Electric engine does not cause peaks to the chain like internal combustion engine does so it likely does not even need chain adjustment that often. It is not that big of a deal or what?

  • @ttfilter

    @ttfilter

    I use a Regina HPE chain on my Ribelle, already done 7000km without oiling and adjusting. You pay more for this chain but it saves you a lot of time on chain maintenance.

    When you are happy about the Range, keep in mind, they, Zero and Energize, always want you to charge only to 80%SoC. And at the end of the day, start searching for a Charge 30 or 40km before it's empty. Only just to keep in mind. But a eMotorbike is nice to drive. . .

    As an electrical design engineer, I really appreciate this technology. As a motorcyclist since 1963, I also really like the looks of the Experia - but on this vid, the sound of the motor / controller is irritatingly shrill. I truly hope that a real Experia does not sound anything like that! Fingernails on a chalkboard.

    Battery only has 1200 charge cycles, so if you’re someone who uses their bike every day, this purchase wouldn’t make sense for you, unless you’re okay with buying a new bike every 2-4 years. Not sure if you can buy just the battery from Energica…

    The idiots who are most likely to crash in the first place usually are listening to really loud music anyway when driving, relying on the sound your bike makes to keep you safe will get you killed.
