Nice video, but the money should have been spent making the dash work correctly. How about something easy, like remembering the last screen it was on? That can't be hard to do. My wrist watch from 1970 can do that. How about fixing the heated grip setting? It used to stay at the same level when the bike was turned off. Now it always goes back to level 2. The light sensor is terrible. It switches back and forth too easy. Finally WHERE IS MY CENTER STAND????

I used that same Magic Dock Tesla Charger in Scotts Valley, CA to charge my HD LiveWire motorbike last November. Looks like there are still only two locations in the entire state of California to use Tesla chargers for our non-tesla EVs. I believe Tesla has already transitioned away from adding new Magic Dock chargers in favor of adapters, but they only work for EVs tesla has approved. So far that’s only Ford and Rivian, I hope Energica and Harley Davidson will make deals with Tesla so we can use more of their chargers.

While it's great that you can (should be able to) do this, don't believe for a minute that Energica can just keep releasing bikes with CCS in the US. You have to update the new models to NACS. The Magic Dock is a stopgap solution until all new EVs have NACS here, and the Magic Dock will probably be at only a small minority of Supercharger locations. For EV motos with very limited range, having access to every Tesla charging site is crucial and is basically what I'm waiting for before I buy one.

Tesla will likely open Supercharger access to all CCS enabled vehicles this year, possibly this summer. You would just need to procure a NACS to CCS adapter like the Lectron or A2Z units, and Tesla may eventually sell their own.

@@GregHassler Fair point, and that would solve the bulk of the issue. But would you want to buy any EV that rocks CCS after the rest of the market has moved to NACS? It doesn't inspire confidence. Energica will have to move eventually, if they are still around by then (which I hope they are).

I was thinking of getting one but they are $200 and the closest compatible supercharger according to the tesla app is 80 miles away. Not sure if the app is indicating it has a magic dock or if any supercharger would work with the vortex

I have one....but the charging speeds on a DC charger on a warm day are not satisfactory at all....maybe a proper thermal management of the battery would be of great interest too for the future

yeah, I will trade more charging speed and sacrifice shorter battery life - on touring if you hit 60km/h avg speed this is the max (in gas bike you can easy hit 100-120)

@@duniek86 well, on my EVA I roughly make around 500 km a day! But higher charging speed doesn't mean less battery life! With other chemistry (like Lifepo4, a 18-20 kWh pack could be constructed that fits in an Energica as well as having liquid cooling) and Pulse-Charging you could make batteries that outlast the whole vehicle (Lifepo4 cells usually achieve 4000 100% DoD cycles, with 200 km range on one cycle that would be 800 000 km...with pulse charging and not always charging to 100% the cells will do hundreds, if not thousands of cycles more!) And 40 kW of Charging speed with a 20 kWh battery would be great....20-80% in 20 mins flat and then go for another 120-140 km....! Would be great

@@huey-fan8335 when I toruing in mountains (poland/slovakia) in 22*C, charging speeds were great - every stop i got 22kW and easily I made 150-160km (60-70% total of Soc) but last month i made trip to middle Poland (flat surfaces, no curves) just boring ride also was 25*C) so I had to stop every 120km and spent 40-50min on charging (also it was holidays so traffic is smaller - almost no semitrucks) - 3-4 times i had to do A to B 300km - then drafting behind semi is the best - NO WIND - so music is ON - so 250km in about 3h and take only 50% of battery on gas bike you probably can FLY 125kmh const speed for 2hous - get10min stop for fuelling and ride again

Why do you advertise? I’m in one of the biggest m/c markets in the us (Miami). I have three electric motorcycles and I tried to get a test ride through your website. Everybody must have been too busy to respond. I gave up. I can’t imagine trying to get service from you if you actually got lucky through some weird alignment of the planets and made a sale.

There are four dealers in Florida, just give them a call, can’t be too hard… In Australia, we only have two main dealers. One email and I flew over 2000 miles for a test ride - Perth to the Gold Coast, the guys at the Australian Electric Motor Co were excellent. Had it sorted, half day test ride on both Ego and Ribelle on some of arguably the best roads in the country (Alex, you ride too slow!) I was hooked, order placed. Say no more, great product great service.
