Billy I LOVE your videos! I don't know how I missed this one but I'm here now! Even today there are still people who don't know who Scotty Moore and Bill Black are and that's such a shame. Scotty Moore's guitar MADE Elvis' original signature sound. I loved it. What Scotty did on Heartbreak Hotel blows me away to this day. Bill's slap bass licks lent so much to Elvis' sound as well and along with DJ Fontana, they influenced the way Elvis sang as well as danced/moved when they performed live and recorded. Elvis' entire body would move to the rhythms he heard and you can see it. On the early Sun recordings, Elvis' used to joke about the "echo" on the records but I love that reverb/tape delay! For me, between Scotty's innovative guitar chords and licks (it's so innovative it almost sounds current), Bill's slap bass, and DJ's metronome-like playing, wow what an amazing signature sound! Of course we can't forget Sam Phillips' brilliant production. We musicians know their names but I wish more people did as well. You're drawing attention to Scotty and these historical sites and that's so important. This is not only Elvis history; It's music history as well. Fantastic video and I love the way you draw comparisons between the original site and what it looks like today. God bless you Billy. Tighten up and TCB🎸👏💖💖

Thank You, Mr. Spa Guy. It is truly a blessing that you have taken the time to document, for Elvis fans, the places that need to be preserved for future generations of not only Elvis fans, but for music fans in general. These Historic places are nothing short of fantastic. It gives a little insight into the workings of Elvis, Scotie, and Bill. Thank you once again for not only the Elvis videos but the others as well!

We a fans know. Elvis is kinda like a prophet status. He had a faith & info has it he wanted to do some gospel concerts in 1977. He sang because song & music was his passion. If Elvis never got famous or rich he would of kept singing till the day he died. Who does 2 concerts in Vegas & then wants to get his friends together & sing for 2-3 hrs more? Only Elvis. God's Hand was on him though he erred. The recording in a Sun studios Million a Dollar Quartet

HEY!! (Story Time) In the mid 1950s,mama worked as a movie theater usher in Memphis and later at Collettas Café, where Elvis ate at often. She saw him at different times there. She MAY have actually worked with Elvis in a theater, but I can not confirm that now. MaMa passed in 2004 :( ANYWAY, see if you can do a piece on Collettas Café there. She had the jukebox man put the 1st Elvis records in there. Ms. Colletts came in that day and pitched a FIT about Elvis music on her juke box, and had them removed. Sometime later, I GUESS when he hit it nationally, Ms. Colletta changed her tune and FILLED the juke box with ALL of his records. hahahaha ALSO-----------Mama said in the mid 1950s, that when they got off work late at night, they'd all drive over to the old Cotton Club(?) in West Memphis. They said that Elvis was spotted over there sometimes as well. With my mama's memories and your research....this might get REAL fun!!!! LOL OK later 'gator! Thank you for doing what you do. Herb (FYI: I was born at Baptist Hospital Jan. 17th, 1956)

This is such a great great story!!! Imagine Scotty bringing Elvis in that room upstairs way back on the 2nd floor of a laundry to practise. One would think Sun records would of had a room for them to practise in at the studio. Maybe they felt more relaxed at that room knowing it was more private. Plus it's just mind blowing Tammy at 13 yrs old saw Elvis there as her mom had a job at the location. Hope you took or bought a cloths hanger too. Great they kept the name the same. Owners of present cleaners. Roof is new. Building must of been in great shape in the 1950s. Amazing it has not been torn down & a new build.

Spa guy, read all this stuff in Scotty’s book Thats alright Elvis. Always wondered what it was like for Elvis to walk from his house to meet with Scotty at 837 Belzer on that very hot 4th of July. You answered all my questions. That was very cool to actually see Scotty and Bobbie’s place and to see inside the house plus knowing Bill Black was just a few doors down, near the Firestone plant was cool to. I always imagined what that day was like, thanks to you i now have a better picture. Thanks!

This is off the topic of this video. I have been watching all of your videos. I was thinking if you ever go to Waikiki can you try to go into the Hilton Hawaiian to see the Elvis suite. There is a room he stayed in the top corner of the old building. I go every summer and I look across at that balcony from the Hale Koa Military Hotel. There are photos made of him on the balcony. In the Hilton Hawaiian they have a display of Elvis photos. I bet you could go trace a lot of Elvis steps in Hawaii. I go to the Blaisdelle Center where the Aloha concert was and they have an Elvis statue too. I would love to go into that building too. Another one is Hunama bay where they hut he had in the movie Blue Hawaii. I tried to locate that too but it is very difficult. I love your videos. I am a lifetime Elvis fan same age as Lisa Marie. I even had a small fan club when I was in my 20s. :) Thank you Becki

Thanks Spa Guy...cool trivia !!!!!!!!!!! If I ever get to see Graceland it won't be during Elvis week ! The crowds and so forth. How many changes through the years of the building ? Sad that they are all gone now...Elvis, Scotty and Bill. Hopefully jamming in heaven ! In the summer it would be a oven ! Wow ! Tammy Wynett !

I got to meet Doug Poindexter in 2004 at 706 Union during the 50th celebration of That's Alright Mama. He walked up to the studio by himself. He and Scotty got to talk briefly. I got Doug's autograph (and Scotty's too). He left by himself unassuming, nobody else knowing who he was. I also have a story what Scotty really thought about modern Gibsons, ha ha. .
