    All heart. I heard he's touring now! At 79! Wish I could see him. SF Jazz Club and I dk maybe Vegas. I count myself fortunate to have seen him many times in the 70s. What a guy. He really worked hard for his expertise too. Humble.. an underrated attribute of great worth. Peace

    Elvin seemed to expect very little to come of this interview, but he was wrong. Elvin, you are the best, not least for honoring your mentors and predecessors.

    He was at the same high school, during the sea era, as Leon Russell, David Gates, Gus Hardin, Gaillard Sartain, and S.E.Hinton were. What a place Will Rogers High must have been.

    Got to say I've been acquainted with Elven and his family and is band members for many years. I've been fortunate enough to have had a long talk with him and he is a down to earth guy who keeps it real and he still does.

    yep,he was my neighbor in san geronimo valley years ago....i was a teenager...always liked him. Goofy...and goofy is good.Pretty much lived all over since then. Remember Mark Naftalin's "Blue Monday" at the Sleeping Lady? I was the kid standing as close as I could to gain licks....precious memories.

    A little context here. This is before a George Thorogood concert. 1984 I believe. This is an interview with Bishop, who is one of the guys George had asked to come and perform, during his concert. He invited guys he loved and looked up to. The entire show is available on KZread.

    I just wish they could have made things easier for Elvin in this interview,he is the nicest guy in the world and extremely intelligent with MANY good stories to tell, but obviously the guy was at the end of his patience here,,,

    I was surfing KZread and had the accidental displeasure of accidently landing on a recent Morrisey concert... after that 4 seconds passed I quickly jumped on here with 2 real musicians. Elvin and GT are the cure for anything including seeing what I saw today! 👀 Thanks George and Elvin

    How can this be 1976? Thorogood mentions MTV. Unfortunately MTV wasn't conceived until 5 years later, 1981. This is not an interview in 1976.

    yeah,,Ol"Crabshaw,,don't seem to be digging the interview deal all that much..you'd think george was a detective or some other such..just the facts! Elvin"s a great guy though and man he's played some gigs from Monterey to London and still gettin it! roll on buddy!

    I have a problem with the date of this interview being 1976. At 11:04 of the interview, George mentions MTV, which wasnt launched until 1981. Hmmmm.

    Good catch.....if you watch the youtube video, live version of "one whisky, one scotch....' from 1984, Elvin has the same guitar with that 'patch' in the corner. (Maybe its always there???) But I'll bet this interview was from that concert.

    I saw Elvin Bishop band at the Fillmore East 1971 Midnight show the night Alman Brothers recorded their Album unbelievable 7hr Show police closed it down at 7am

    A real recipe for disaster... 1. Elvin Bishop doesn't care for interviews (who does?) 2. Your average annoying video/audio crew and director who seemingly know nothing of their subject. 3. A disjointed routine, complete with bogus instructions like "Lean on your guitar". BTW: This interview is nowhere near 1976. Dollars-to-Donuts it was July 5, 1984.

    I LOVE Elvin Bishop. That man can play like no one else, he has a style that cuts through a lot of nonsense. But Elvin looks annoyed AF in this interview. Probably wishing he was Fishin' instead.

    Summer of '69 Elvin was top billing over the "Santana Blues Band". Can you imagine that ? Both acts were fabulous, tho. George is a great Interviewer.

    I saw the "Santana Blues Band" in the summer of '69 before they played at Woodstock, they were unknown at the time. They were one of four or five opening bands with the headliner being The Grateful Dead. Great memories.

    Earlier in '69, I was at the Avalon Ballroom with Elvin, and he pointed to a picture on the wall of a band that would be playing there the next week. He said they were gonna be huge. Later that summer I saw them at Woodstock. Of course, it was Santana.
