But anyway, it was odd they scrapped both stickers and emission testing cause both were big money grabs for city and generated alot for " road improvements" and stuff lol. Guess that's why gas prices got taxed hard here and why we pay $1.40 per liter now.

    Lmao @ the emissions mistake 😂. I had a good laugh. I hear you on the plate price here. I'm at $164 for a custom plate. I've heard people talk about the sonata pump. Seems popular. I'm sure some people will chime in. I know for the Evo... the pumps go for around $250ish with the install kits. Thats what I paid. But you're right.... $500ish for a pump seems steep. Unless your going for some big hp numbers/big setup (doubles etc)... Forgot to add. Im sure Hyundai does it to save money. You know how it goes.

    Yeah man haha I remember every time I was going to buy that stupid plate sticker they asked me to do emission test first, so I did it just in case 😆 This is just a simple hpfp swap I don’t see a reason why it have to cost you 400$ and up 🤷‍♂️ like you said we not going for some crazy fuel system setup here! I know Hyundai like to cut corners on some things so we can get best bang for buck but why older fuel pump is better then new one I have no idea 🤷‍♂️

    My OEM hpfp failed in my veloster N which left me stranded with no tunes/upgrades. Went with the upgraded hpfp from n75 because I didn’t want to deal with getting stranded again. Was a straightforward swap, and didn’t need any kind of tunes. Also didn’t go with one off of eBay because I just wanted one I knew was brand new, and would work. Also n75 customer service is quick to reply to questions… asked a few questions through email, and got a response within an hour.

    From N75 counceling and tuning sessions via EK1 lite, I gotten the 2GTA0 fuel pump. I also installed the Xforce 200cel catted downpipe. Fuel requirement will get more important because you will free up the turbocharger airflow through removing restriction where it counts the most (at the turbine side/behind the turbo). The turbo begins to build boost sooner and more aggressively with the downpipe and the stock fuel pump just cant follow the airflow pushed by the added freeflow of the turbo, it adds up. So get a real 2gta0 fuel pump from the dealership, they are cheaper and you make sure they arent copies (theres a lot of copies around....believe me)

    I have a n75 hpfp in my Veloster N, mainly cause my oem hpfp was dying and I didn't want to be stuck because of it. My n75 hpfp came in a geniune hyundai parts box, with an n75 sticker over the PN and since the box was paper, if I ripped off the sticker, it would have ripped off the information. I would say if your current hpfp is good for your power, I don't think you need to upgrade. However, if you are having issues with it, like power not feeling consistent, I would try to get an upgraded one. If you do remove the filter, just make sure that you put it back together correctly so fuel doesn't leak everywhere and catch fire.

    increasing the power numbers with a downpipe or any other part that is seperate from the engine, has nothing to do with your fuel pump. with your tuner that's the deciding factor if you need a HPFP or not. If you were not leaning out during any of your dyno runs, then you have no need for an upgraded fuel pump. Are you still with the Stillen piggyback tuner or are you with a full N75 tune?

  • @PolishBullitt

    @PolishBullitt

    4 ай бұрын

    I see what you say brother and I agree, but even with “opening” your car with exhausts, dp’s and intakes can still change you fuel delivery especially when you car demands more fuel because it detected more air in the system but pump can’t keep up, but I think the real problem that people point out is that the stock hpfp have sudden fuel pressure drops and can’t hold steady flow. Im still with my piggyback from Stillen no real ecu tune yet lol

  • @gionieves2646

    @gionieves2646

    4 ай бұрын

    @@PolishBullitt I hear you but the issues some are having with the downpipes isn't the overall pressure....it's the change in AFRs which DPs tend to lean out because of the higher flow and faster turbo spool. DPs especially catless ones will really mess with AFRs and can even create turbo surges which can lean out our cars without a proper tune and fuel delivery. I think a DP is one of those parts that on some cars really needs a tune for it. Even the F150 ecoboost tuners recommend a tune with DPs because of what I stated earlier. On my 2006 Evo 9 RS I did the downpipe and had zero issues. It really depends on the car.

    Yes because once you tune the car and also say you have downpipe, intake etc, the engine is now taking in a lot more air but the stock fuel pump can not deliver enough fuel to properly mix with that amount of air. You actually are not seeing the hp increases you believe the mods and tune are giving you. This is why it’s also a concern that you could lean the air fuel mixture out on the stock pump and damage the engine. Honestly for the money the pump costs just get one of them if you have increases your power because that’s a lot less money than an engine.
