It's interesting, I revisited this clip because I'm a fan of Eddie, but out of curiosity thought I'd glance the comments. They are spaced out for the most part, the odd comment over the past 14 years, then about a year ago all of the sudden a bunch of trolls turn up to coincide with the current trend to attack trans people for being trans. Thankfully some of us don't fall for the mainstream medias lies and see through the way they pick a minority group to hate on and distract from the real issues in society. Just goes to show who the real NPC's were all along.

Prior to 1743 the values had been proposed by Celsius in reverse (i.e. the boiling point was 0 degrees and the freezing point was 100 degrees). The 1743 scale reversal was proposed by Jean-Pierre Christin. Should we call the scale Degree Christin ? No ! Alright, the comments start in the 90s, maybe the 80s, so I am quite astonishingly late to the party. I didn't know who this person was or, presumably, still is. Wikipedia contends the person is a woman, some of the comments suggest the person is a man. I am not stymied by gender fluidity, though I am a bit wary of gender fluids. This is an excellent example of someone doing something very difficult - making crowds of strangers laugh-- and making it look easy. They said the same thing about Dimaggio and playing centerfield. Funny, funny stuff but casual, conversational, like you're having dinner with a brilliantly witty friend. Genius.

Until 1948, the unit was called Centigrade, from the Latin centum, which means 100, and gradus, which means steps. Since 1743 the Centigrade scale has been based on 0 °C for the freezing point of water and 100 °C for the boiling point of water at 1 atm pressure. Prior to 1743 the values had been proposed by Celsius in reverse (i.e. the boiling point was 0 degrees and the freezing point was 100 degrees). The 1743 scale reversal was proposed by Jean-Pierre Christin. Should we call the scale Degree Christin ? No ! Naming things or concepts after people is silly when there is a perfectly appropriate name in use already. Stop blindly accepting names from senile old academicians who need such useless gestures to justify their positions and expenses.
