How did the cake turn out for you?

I bake cakes and I can say you did a great job. It is good to listen to people on how to do it. That way your cake will get good review from family and friend. Thanks for sharing. I always like to watch different versions of classic recipes. I will say this just as advice, flavoring should be added after the eggs, and once you start adding flour the mix time is short. Cake being overmixed makes a heavy dry cake. Pound cakes baked at 325 go for 1hr to 1hr 15 depending on your oven. ❤

My grand mother’s 7up cake recipe was pretty close to your recipe so thank you. I was going on memory. The coconut flavor is the true special secret to this cake. I used 1 Cup of Crisco and 1 stick of butter then after mixing up my cake I then found your recipe . 10:10 pm we shall see🙏🙏🙏

Good looking cake. Short list of ingredients and easy cake, but the explanation was too drawn out. I’d suggest telling peeps the oven temperature setting at the outset as opposed to just before you put cake in the oven. Pan could be also be prepared and quickly referenced before you begin actual preparation. At some point, it would help to note that this cake does not require baking powder or soda or salt, so that peeps do not think its an oversight. Or, whether you used salted or unsalted butter. Thank You.

Hi Lillie! I let my cakes cool for about 10-15 minutes before removing from the pan. Also, I don't add any salt or baking soda to this cake. The Swans Down cake flour has everything you need. This is why this cake is super easy and fast to make, ( although my video is super long) lol. The entire recipe is listed in the description. Hope that helps 🙂 Let me know how it turns out for you

Hi Bernadette! That's a really good question. Honestly, I've never paid attention to how long I mix after adding the flour and sprite; I just mix until it looks about right 😆 Meaning it's smooth and creamy and looks like cake batter should look with no clumps or dry areas from the flour. I hope this helps..

I believe I got it from Meijer.. I'm almost positive

Always put your Lemon 🍋Extract and coconut after you put your Eggs in.than always start with Flour and end with flour.

Do you really need to use 3 cups of sugar or can I use less because I don't like very sweet cakes. Can I get away with maybe 2 cups of sugar? The cake looks delishious!!!😊👍

Hi GJ! I'm pretty sure putting 2 cups of sugar would be fine. Just don't put any less than that, because you don't want your cake to be dry. Thanks for watching 🙂🙂

@@aprilshowers3623 I am originally from Germany and the European cakes and pastries are not as sweet as the ones here in the US. I just never quite got used to the sweetness of cakes here. I do not like icing for instance, that to me is like eating pure sugar! Can I freeze your cake after I slice it up?😄❤️

@@gj9736 I am not a fan of icing either, which is why I love this cake so much. I'm sure you'll love it; and I'm sure it will taste just fine with two cups of sugar. I've never put it in the freezer, so you'll have to let me know how it tastes after frozen. 🙂

Hi Fredia! Yes, you can, but then you'll have to add cornstarch as well and that's just one more step; that's why I prefer to use cake flour to make it a little easier. Hope that helps.. Thanks for watching! April
