Short Drever description:
The Drever is a dog with short legs, long body and drop hanging ears, which are typical for majority of hounds. The average height is between 30-38 cm, which is 12-15 inch and weight is usually between 35-40 pounds, which is 15-18 kg. The females tend to be slightly smaller than males.
The Drever has a thick coat which is harsh, straight and close fitting to the body. The fur on the neck, back of thighs and back can be sligthly longer, but overall, the coat is short. Commonly, the Drever can be found in brindle, fawn, red, and tri-color with or without white or sable markings.

I live in the U.S. and adopted a dog from the shelter when he was 5 months old. I assumed he was a Dachshund Beagle mix...which he probably is, but he looks JUST like an orange and white Drever...he is even the right weight! He is incredibly sweet and incredibly funny and he is a fantastic natural hunter. We live on some property and he has caught birds, rabbits and moles without any training at all! I've always owned hound breeds, but none have been such amazing hunters! Despite his short legs he's also amazingly fast! He is a house dog, but he loves the outdoors and would stay outside for hours if given the choice.

I live in Sweden and have one drever, a fantastic breed with word class hunting ability and a lovely family dog! I would definitely not recommend to buy one if you don't hunt. They need time in forrest chasing animals in order to be happy since their enormous natural instinct.

Well, Drevers definitely have "big dog" personality.
I guess thats why I never saw another dog like mine in California...I thought she was just a weird dog but...I guess they’re just not many outside of Sweden

Great hunting dogs, but not for city people. Mine likes to bark quite a lot. Need great deal of exercise to calm down

I just want to point out that you shold not buy a Drever of you are not going to hunt with it.
