The Bernese Mountain Dog is an extremely versatile working dog from the farmlands of Switzerland. They were developed to herd cattle, pull carts, and be watchdogs and loyal companions. They’re one of four types of Swiss Mountain Dogs.

I have my first Berner and she is everything as listed above. She is simply beautiful inside and outside.
Want one NOW! They are gorgeous and very lovable.Good work dogs also!:Live in Australia and I don't know if any are here.Beautiful temperaments, puppies for longer than other breeds. Can't raise voices at them.because they have tender easy to hurt feelings .

They are a bit different, if they actually live on a farm here in the state of bern. They will welcome strangers, generally rather warmly by almost toppling you over. Also had some instances were they were in guard mode. then you better keep your distance, as all gentleness is gone. They can be very clear, one step more onto the farm and you will get torn to shreds. (I live in Bern)
