Malamutes are immensely strong, I mean like the strongest. I didn't take Doc on a walk, Doc took me on a drag. Doc and Blackjack (husky/malamute) would willingly sleep outside in snow, despite nice doghouses. These dogs should not be owned in hot climates, it's torture.

they are smarter than you think and will act dumb to get their way. they are also stubborn. they can also get it in their heads that they are lap dogs big lap dogs. they will think and solve problems quickly mine discovered she could not dig out of the yard so she learned how to climb a 5 ft chain link fence. I wanted a guard dog but I got a comedian.

I have a labradoodle F1B / she is 3/4 standard poodle. I’ve had multiple breeds of dog. She is the best. Smart, picks up on subtleties, easy to train, eager to please, loves people, little people, other animals. Also has a fun personality.

Grew up with a poodle. Why not just get a poodle? Why do you have to do that to breeds?

I have the privilege of owning a 5 year old Lhasa Apso now. My darling Cavalier Sascha died two weeks ago at the age of 5. I was devastated, even suicidal. The vet that tried to save her contacted my brother two days after to say she had a dog for me if I wanted. Free of charge because his owner died and he was going to be sent to a shelter otherwise. I immediately felt a connection to him because he lost the most important one in his life too. So I agreed to meet him and of course I fell for him at first sight. The sweetheart came to me and rubbed his head against me. There was no way I was going to walk away without him. I still miss Sascha like crazy of course. She was my first dog. But Maylo softens the pain a bit. I would also like to think that his owner is up there in heaven, taking care of Sascha and both of them watching over us. He is so gentle and sweet. She must have trained and socialized him really well because he is like that with strangers too. The only problem he has is severe separation anxiety. I will be very patient with him of course. I know he has it difficult too. Whenever I leave, he looks at me as if he believes I will never come back, like his former owner. It breaks my heart. Fun fact, apparently his father was 23!

Ours are nearing the end of their lives. Our male is 12 and our female is 11. The male spent most of his life at about 135 lbs and the female at about 105. Both have lived in the house throughout the time we’ve had them. They’ve lived healthy lives other than one ACL tear 6 years ago in the male. They’ve been incredible around other people and our kids that were born 7 and 3 years ago. However, our male has been aggressive toward other male dogs in the past and had to be pulled away and both the male and the female have killed several small woodland creatures, including birds somehow. All in all, they’ve been amazing, loyal, and friendly dogs their entire lives. If it weren’t for the last 12 years of constant double exorbitant shedding, we would be planning to get Akitas again when these two pass away.

I have a Plott Hound crossed with a German Shepherd……she looks like a longer snout plott hound and is definitely a hunter and likely a tracker if she finds something interesting. She also has the mental sharpness of the Shepherd and takes incredible care of me all the time. She is one of the finest dogs I have ever had and every one of them has been a rescue…..

I think it rather interesting that beside Tosa, also the akita Inu is a rare Barker, but im not sure if they have the same ringfight DNA like the Tosa
