DoorDash Delivery| Are Dashers BUSINESS OWNERS???

In the latest DoorDash Dasher Agreement, DoorDash clearly states that Dashers are in fact business owners that operate a separate enterprise. Did you know this?? In recent events in California, bill AB5 was passed. This bill forces these gig companies to pass what they call the, ABC test. In that test, having control over the workers is a big component they might not pass. This new agreement and wording helps them clear themselves of any responsibility, and to help ensure they pass the ABC test coming in January for those companies in California. Did you also know that you're required to have more than "personal" insurance coverage in most situations? Check your insurance to see what's excluded, and if you see anything about delivery or livery, YOU ARE AT RISK FOR DEACTIVATION among much worse consequences if something bad were to happen. Did you also know that per the new agreement, you're required to have Workman's Comp Insurance in states where it's required by law?? There's a lot you probably didn't know, that I cover in great detail in this video. Don't get fooled into an "employee" type relationship, when you're a business owner and Independent Contractor.

They say we’re independent contractors, yet they manipulate the offers by hiding tips. As an independent contractor I should be able to see the total amount before agreeing to the “job”.

Thanks Jake for the legit info about the gig economy. It's fairly easy for those of us that understand how the gig economy really works to determine who is out there for their own personal gains vs who is truly out to help others. Yes in the end you too want to make money and even some from helping others but you do the work and get the truly useful information by all that you do. You don't read an email and assume you get the first hand knowledge through 1000s of trials vs the others that do it through 40 or 50. I get so frustrated listening to these people day after day because they simply dont realize that none of these apps give a crap about the gig workers. Anyway, Thanks for all you do ... Right but to get around you actually making decisions they hide information like now in my market any tip larger than $5.50 is hidden... you never see an order more than like eight or nine bucks. I just choose based on the distance now, but I don’t like a company that states all this stuff in the contract and then turns around and tries to manipulate me to get me to perform like an employee. Gig companies are a scam if you fall for it and unfortunately lot’s of drivers do..

I tried giving him the benefit of doubt cause I'm not biased and I choose facts or sides... that being said... Nothing he said was factual. Like bro you searched a damn near brand new car to "prove" depreciation of cars wasn't a factor... Bentley... fam... you know damn well everyone doesn't drive newer cars like that. With the lack of FULL TRANSPARENCY, DD can say and do whatever they want in their attempt to get more Dashers to comply with DDs wants. The things DD does to its Dashers do in fact exert control and completely violate the true meaning of what it is to be an Independent Contractor.

Not necessarily, but speak to a tax expert on if it's a better option for your situation. For some people it is. I'm no tax expert, and everyone's situation is very different.

Nothing interesting about it at all. Anyone with a little common sense and experience in gig work know who’s full of it and who’s delivering the goods. It’s dumb to call out the ONLY creator actually making an impact and difference. I have emails from DoorDash, GrubHub, and other organizations that have reached out to me for feedback and help. I’ll let that speak for itself! Clowns will be clowns though, ya dig

That’s impressive and awesome to hear!! It’s very doable, when working smarter, and treating this like the business it truly is. I don’t have time for drama and dumb games. My purpose and mission run deeper than these other clowns will ever dream of. They can fake the funk all they want, but in the end I’ll still be teaching my same principles for success, when they’re nothing but a fart in the wind. They need to stick to bashing on one another and leave me out of their juvenile drama. Losing battle for them, coming at me.

Independent Contractor, and you need to read 1099 a bit more. You need to have a business owner mindset and some do have an LLC tied to their account, not a personal one. Essentially, you're considered a business in this industry. An example for ya. A concrete company is a sub-contractor, but they're not a business???? EXACTLY!!!!!! Shake your head all you want, but facts are facts.
