LOW PAYING Offers: DoorDash New Pay Model TIPS To Make More Money

Are you not happy with the NEW DoorDash Pay Model? Seeing lots of low paying offers, as low as two dollars? You know how the old saying goes..."be careful what you ask for." Many who weren't happy with the old DoorDash pay model that subsidized, but also provided a "guaranteed minimum" just might not be so happy with the new DoorDash pay model either. That's because there is NO MORE "guaranteed minimum" aside from the "DoorDash base fare" of two dollars. IF a customer DOES NOT TIP before delivery, then the offer will ONLY show the "DoorDash base fare," which is what most Dashers will receive upon completing the delivery. Dashers are HOPING to see a "post delivery tip" or a higher payout when they do accept, and deliver these low paying offers. All of you Dashers should have figured out pretty quick that they WILL NOT pay out any higher than the incoming offer screen shows. A VERY SMALL PERCENTAGE will tip post delivery, or in cash. This is similar to what GrubHub delivery drivers have been seeing and dealing with for a very long time. They can effectively "cherry pick" offers though, to ensure they set themselves up for success by rejecting the garbage offers, which then allows them the opportunity to see higher paying offers. Patience pays off sometimes!! DoorDash representatives, and chat support are misinforming Dashers by telling them they won't see higher paying offers unless they accept and complete more deliveries. THAT IS COMPLETE BS AND I CAN PROVE IT!!!!! Don't fall for these companies lies and tricks, I show what can be done with these gig apps, when working like a TRUE INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR!! Watch this video for more information in great detail, and some advice on how to increase your earnings with this new DoorDash pay model. One of the ONLY KZread channels TRULY "PUTTING MORE MONEY INTO YOUR POCKETS"!!!!! Stop buying into the BS

    For all the orders we're declining, I'd like to suggest we select 'Other' for reason, and type in 'pay too low', to get the point across to DD. Of ALL the reasons to select for declining an order, none of them address 'Low pay'. ' Order too small ' probably doesn't have anything to do with pay. In English, the grammar of that phrase has nothing to do with pay, it's to do with order size, like how many items. Technically, there are no reasons to select that say the pay is too low. We need to have that changed, and DD needs to acknowledge that orders pay too low. So start selecting 'Other', and type in ' Pay too low '. 😊👍

  • @EternalTrick

    I would say get rid of the popups entirely when declining an order it should just be one hit of the decline button to reject an offer. It is ridiculous we have to confirm 3 times just to reject an offer whilst to accept it is just one push of a red button that is easy to accidentally press. I don't even think that doordash uses the data and feedback we give when denying an offer to improve anything because at the end of the day I still receive a lot of low paying far distance offers that I end up having to keep rejecting. Also when we have to go through a process to decline an offer that puts drivers at risk as they have to take their focus off the road because 45 seconds is not enough time to find a place to pull over and then evaluate the offer and then decide to accept or reject. Like seriously they should just get rid of it completely.

  • @VeganGroceryLife

    @VeganGroceryLife

    4 жыл бұрын

    EternalTrick exactly! I have to drive and then try to press an option of why I rejected it. For ease and safety, I press “distance too far” because it’s first and the easiest to see. Sometimes I am literally right in front of the business and I reject it lol.

  • @EternalTrick

    @EternalTrick

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@VeganGroceryLife Yeah there has been too many times where I get an offer when I am driving and if I have to reject it I have to take my focus off the road to confirm 3 times which is really dangerous. If I miss the 45 second time frame it will kick me out which is very frustrating. They need to either add more time to confirm the offer or make it detect if you are moving at at least 30mph it won't give you any offers so then you won't be distracted whilst on the road. I hate how it is easy to accidentally accept an offer that puts responsibility on you but they make it a huge pain in the ass to reject the offer. It has to keep asking me if I reject this offer my acceptance rating will go down and all of us who watch this channel knows that acceptance rating is just a bunch of bullshit that takes a hit on our earnings because DD wants us to accept low paying far distance offers. Then they have this reasoning why screen that does absolutely nothing I highly doubt they even use the data to improve the system because at the end of the day nothing is getting done. Doordash's user agreement says that we shouldn't use our phones while we are driving and with this system that you only get 45 seconds to accept an offer whilst you are on the road goes against their own policies. We need 90 seconds at least if you don't want us using your app whilst driving.

    So many opportunities? 1. Been on Grubhub's waiting list since June of 2019. It's now October 2019. 2. Tried Instacart. Same story, they put me on waiting list. 3. Shipt asks you to answer interview questions which you record for them. Afterward, they promise to contact you when something opens up in your area. 4. I always have my Postmates app going while I Doordash in case I get any offers. This morning I started at 7:30 am. I got several DD orders and only got one Postmates order in 3 hours. I haven't tried Ubereats, but I'll bet they're even less busy than Postmates. Also, I noticed Postmates will send me to a restaurant further away from my location than DD-- so bottom line is they are a supplement, not an alternative. 5. I've tried ignoring and declining offers on Doordash. If you decline orders, your acceptance rate goes down so they send you less offers. If you ignore orders, they pause your dash and when you resume your dash, you don't get anymore orders until next dash you've scheduled. I've gotten messages that my Dash was paused because I missed an opportunity, and so that other Dashers can sign on an take advantage of $2.00 delivery offers. I've had dashes where I'm faced with the lesser of two evils: accept four dollar offers and make twenty bucks that dash, or go home pissed off (which I have done) and waste gas money on a dry delivery run. I've been working breakfast, lunch and dinner slots to try to pay the bills with DD. During the weekdays it's so dead. Bottom line is that it's chump change, and I'm putting miles on a good car that would take me five years of continous dashing at 3-4 dollars a run to replace. What a racket. Am I disgruntled much? Hell yeah.

    Kinda of an extreme example based on your specific location with regard to you declining the $21 offer. I'd imagine almost 100% of the time it would be smart to take it. If your specific situation was not one of those times I can't tell you otherwise. There's always time taken with regard to pickup/dropoff/wait time regardless of how "close" an offer is so something like $21 on 10 miles is still better than doing a $6 for 2 miles or something along those lines.

  • @stmaldon

    @stmaldon

    Agree 100 percent. My area minimum was 6. I have kept my minimum I will accept at 6. Several of the 6 dollar orders now are for more miles. We have to be careful. I used to have a good acceptance rate. With bad offers and bad stacked orders they have retrained me. I'm at 12 pct right now. Also like you said if you can't sign into your dash from a delivery address they offer you never accept it. I'm sorry to those customers that don't technically fall into our map but I am not driving back for free. What I have learned in my area Jake is while every offer used to be a Communist 6 dollar order for the most part now it's feast or famine. I'm getting great offers or terrible offers with little in the middle. This is better for us. I have no idea who will pick up these 2 to 4 dollar orders. Maybe they will get sent at higher offers the next time around. Maybe dashers are willing to do 2 to 4 dollar orders. I can't tell you who is picking them up I can only tell you who is not picking them up. Thanks Jake. Great video.

    I am so happy I came across your channel! Those people who disliked this video Is missing out! My first day I was accepting everything and anything. 5-7$ orders that were far and out my zone. I already work 2 jobs, so I'm doing this in the dead of the night. After rejecting just a couple low ballers my second day, I started getting deliveries in my zone, mucblh higher pay and even doubling up. Not sure if it was this video or a previous one but texting them after the delivery is a huuuuge help. No one was taking my survey and now its 5.0.

    I only just discovered your channel. Very interesting. I kind of jumped into doing DD+GH full time (didn't have much of a choice) with no gig experience besides part time Lyft for supplemental income when life was very different. From what I'm seeing, you work almost exactly the market I work, use GH to get me back into my DD zone. Interesting that our philosophies are near identical, with a near identical market, and a similar mindset: when you work for yourself, you owe it to yourself to be the best boss and best employee you can be. I'm not doing as well as you money-wise. It's improving slowly though - even with the "slow down" I've perceived this month. A couple weeks ago I thought of trying to start a little channel and offer ideas, advice, little tricks I've discovered. But I think you pretty much have 80% of what I would have to say covered already. Nice work dude. The thumb up is now blue. The subscribe button is now gray. Edit: Y'all, when he says SPREADSHEET AND TAKE NOTES, he means it. If you take no other advice from this video TAKE THAT PART. Spreadsheet. Every. Data. You. Can. That Cheescake Factory is auto-reject for me. Should I change my mind? This video is from 2019 so maybe its messier now.

    I’m gonna be a little radical here and suggest that people get too wrapped up in dollars per mile. I’m more concerned with time than I am with miles. For instance - 10 miles on the freeway takes a lot less time than 10 miles on city streets. Something to think about.

    What doesn’t make sense for me, does for some others. There’s a lot of factors that go into accepting or rejecting an offer for me, so $ amount isn’t the only thing I weigh. The mileage shown doesn’t include empty miles to return back to a good area. Especially, during rush hour traffic in the middle of the city.

    He is absolutely right if you don't cherry pick you are going to hate it and think it's not worth it. I started cherry picking after a few days of starting which was only 3 months ago. It took me a week to know my area better a where not to deliver. Don't work for doordash, grubhub make them work for you. Last but not least do not rely on one platform. Run all you can! The key is drop off pick up, drop off pick up trying not to find your self in dead time.

    I mostly accept all offers, sometimes I politely decline the $3.50 ones. The way I figure it, most of the time it is likely a higher-paying offers immediately after the low-paying one, sometimes even a stacked delivery. It’s orders that take me 10 minutes into the next zone that I’d like to shy away from.

Well I got 258 last night so I need 2 more for the 260 by August 25. Plus the guy that referred me is giving me half of his referral bonus of $600. $500 total made. Seattle market horrible traffic. Can average 5 orders every 2 hours. Most orders are 10$ to 15$ in my market, yes people tip nicely but DD is paying up to 10 for base pay. I'm tired of these other creators making videos of DD trash or OMG is DD crazy for all these 2$ orders. We all know those offers are out there but they never show the high paying orders. Stack orders are only smart to take when they are 5$ if Its the same restaurant and literally next to the higher payout orders. You can Make that 10$ offer turn to 15$ but like I said has to be same restaurant and literally the same path to the original order. .... thx for the positive video and not trying to scare drivers or ask for money. My opinion is door dash will pay you the full tip that the customer is giving you and if it’s a large amount of money they will make it back from you by stealing your tips later on. Same thing with promos, if you’re making decent money with promos, then later on they will get it back from you by lowballing you By way of keeping your tip and other orders.
