    Well depending on what the food is sometimes depending on the time it is best if they make the food when you step into the store. Lot of the time the food is cold it's not just the drivers I need to think about it's also the customers because without the customer we wouldn't have a f****** job. What do you want your food cold? Not saying this for every order but I guarantee the amount of time that the food is made once you step into the door is very rarely cuz I've done 1500 deliveries and my on time is at 97%

    Thank you Jake. 📵📵📵📵 great video. I'm first going to start off with yes I do have the Dasher rewards because I do take pride in my job and treat every customer as if I was them. There are way too many people who just don't care they take this job for granted and think it's just easy money and don't have to do nothing. Just from your videos I could easily tell your work ethic skills are way above the average person. I always text a customer I always check the orders I always greet the customer and say thank you at the end it's all those little things that count. And for the people with the low ratings they don't do any of that they just grab the food handed to the customer without a bag without checking it without saying thank you and go on to their next Dash and complain that they got a low rating.

    One tip for my fellow dashers, I been dashing for almost 5 years now at one point almost two years straight full time just Doordash. Keep your dasher rating 4.90 or up. Don’t accept all the orders come in your way. Go to your schedule one the app and click setting button and only select the area you are dashing. Everything else is invalid and just slow down the amount of orders come to your way because you are selected all the surrounding area by default when you download the app. Know your restaurants, pick and choose your orders for example I stay only in one area don’t accept orders more than 4 miles. As long as you are doing everything right as explained in this video and your customers rate you good chances are next time when you are dashing and that customer orders through Doordash you will get that order as the app knows that last time customer was happy with your service win win for everyone. Hope this will help a lot as no one ever told me about unchecking all the defaulted areas on your schedule setting to just one area. Now 90% of my orders are with in 1-2 miles within my pick up point and I am able to average $35 -48/hr. Good luck y’all

    Here's a 'tip'. Be very friendly with large office groups that order Starbucks daily. I've been delivering to this office everyday for 2 weeks now and then whamo the lawdog finally caught me parking illegally as I always do and dinged me a $62 ticket. So I let the office caffeine addicts know I won't be going to their Starbucks anymore and they're like "oh sheet, you're the only one that brings the correct orders and extras everytime and elevators the order up instead of sending a "I'm downstairs with your order.." text. Receptionist took up a collection and bang, $72 cash tip. :-).

  • @BrianHarrisDrummer
    @BrianHarrisDrummer4 жыл бұрын

    I fully support this video! I’ve been dashing for about 8 weeks now and I have made my own little 2”x 4” tags that I tape to their bag that thanks them for the order and asks them for a five star rating letting them know that it directly affects the orders I get. So if they were happy with my service today, to please consider giving me a five star rating. But I also send a text when I get the order, to let them know I’m on my way to pick up their food, and will let them know when I’m on my way and how long it will take. I also include a thumbs up Memoji of myself, which adds friendliness & playfulness. Sometimes I get a Memoji back from them. And then when I’m on my way, once the GPS lets me know how long it will take to get to their location, I let them know how many minutes it will take. I always add one extra minute to compensate for traffic, traffic lights, or bad roads. Often people will thank me for letting them know that I’m on my way. Some people never respond at all (weird). I’ve had a few people tell me how impressed they were with my communication. In fact, the other day when I said that I was on my way and it would be 7 minutes, the customer said “wow five stars already!” So yes...it’s extremely important to have good communication with your customers, be friendly in person and inside of the texts, and thank them in some way, whether it’s another text after you leave their location, or the little bag tags that I use. IT REALLY WORKS! I’m currently at a 4.93 rating

  • @BrianHarrisDrummer

    @BrianHarrisDrummer

    4 жыл бұрын

    Deb Carsey I suppose you’re asking me that question? I often get $3-4 orders and I immediately decline them. I won’t accept anything less than $5 per order and the number of miles cannot exceed the dollar amount. For example, I will take an $8 order for 5 miles but not $5 order for 8 miles. The only time I will take less than $5 is if it’s a stacked order and as long as that second order is at least $4 and the number of miles does not exceed 4. Most of the time it’s less than 2 extra miles on my route. I have even been in line at Wendy’s and got a second order that only paid $3 and I declined it. Another order came in about five seconds later for the same amount. Declined!You have to teach DoorDash how to treat you. If you accept the low paying orders, they will continue to send you the low paying orders.

    I don't think that's fair to say because everybody's individual just because somebody orders fast food doesn't mean they're a low life. I've worked fast food for most of my life yes it was a manager but I had so many people always judge me my telling me I'm not educated or I'm stupid even though I did go to college and have associates degree. Working at McDonald's making six figures isn't too bad for somebody who's a lowlife. I did watch the fast food orders in my ratings at 4.8 maybe it's cuz I work fast food and I know the ins-and-outs so I always get the orders right. Treat everybody individually not people as a group and maybe things would be different

    At first, I didn't really believe texting could make that big of a difference, but within only 2 days of sending texts for every single delivery... My rating went from 4.6something and "medium" (or yellow) to 4.78 and "high" (green). It definitely works asking for a rating. I'll continue doing this as it seems people really love it Thanks for the tip

    I send a text after every delivery & stay consistent around 4.86 rating even if I get a bad review for any reason. It works, most people don't think about it & that just puts it in their head & they are happy to do it. I'll request the restaurant to review the order, but I personally do not check orders because in my state food handlers permits are a requirement & I don't have one to deliver food. I'll do a count the best I can but I never open containers to look in.

Also, what is general rule of thumb on mileage of the restaurant itself...such as Chili's....Chinese restaurant ect...or what is your rule of thumb on combined mileage of restaurant and customer?.. Do you ever call ahead to the restaurant to have them wait before starting that order? Thanks so much.

    These are all common sense things and it's amazing to me that you have to explain it to some people. Crazy people wondering why they got rated poorly when they showed up, half the order was missing, it was cold because they didn't use their bag, and they're rude. I hear from customers all the time about how piss-poor the other drivers are and it actually makes me feel better because I know that person appreciates decent service when they get it. They may not know what decent service w/delivery is until they actually get it. Anyway. Crazy times. Crazy people. Use your noggin people.

    I have a question so some restaurants like McDonald’s & Burger King in my location they seal up the bag to insure the dasher not to interfere w it & they do have the receipt out to display it for the dasher. You check the accuracy on the receipt & on your door dash app. So let’s say it’s 100% accurate right? What if you successfully delivered it & the customer receives it. Once you leave they open the bag & find something missing? What do you do then??? If you’re not allowed to open the bag & you check the receipt & done all in your part.

    We've got a big market here in the metro detroit area. HOWEVER , trying to deal with all the construction zones is really putting a cramp on delivery times not to mention the congestion of traffic. I decided to get a regular part time job and it seems like I'm making out better . Considering less wear and tear of my car and miles. Not to mention dealing with making your own Tax deductions that way you dont get in a bind. Has been kinda nice. I find it hard to really make out in the end through these Apps. However your right about multiple apps running simultaneously. I had my gf run her app and it seems that we both make it work . But Damn..... we really run through alot of fuel. It seems like people who run these apps. In a area where most trips are no more than 5 miles Seem to make out better. Unlike here it's just so damn busy it's hard to squeeze in more than 6 runs in a few hours because of the congestion with construction.
