I never ask for a customer rating and my customer rating is 4.92, I feel that if we ask for a rating we will empower customers, if only takes a person that is having a bad day for you to get a bad rating and a potential deactivation. Reject a few and you will find PLENTY of higher paying offers. The reason you see crappy offers first more often than not, is because it gets those crappy offers completed by the SUCKERS who accept anything and everything, despite there being lots of good info on the web educating one not to. In other words, WORK SMARTER AND BE A BOSS!!!! I average $10/delivery or more with DD.

For some reason doordash will not let me send text anymore when I'm on the way. I got with doordash and they can't figure out what's wrong but anyway. My customer service score took a hit from a 4.85 down the 4.62 now that I can't text the customer and tell him I'm on my way and thank them afterwards to.

@@toddwruble4461 Todd, when I'm leaving, if the delivery is on time, I have high confidence in the restaurant I picked up from (that they don't make hidden mistakes on the order) and I think the customer is receptive to a 5 second interaction and is smiling, and happy to see me, my interaction is this: "Hey, would you mind hitting me up with a 5 star review?" They always say yes and I know they're actually doing it because my score goes up a couple of points every day. It's gone from 4.50 to 4.78 in the last 10 days.

@@GigCoachJake Calling people "suckers" because they don't do exactly as you do is self-centered. I don't want to juggle 5 different apps. I also had an EXTREMELY bad experience with Postmates and don't wish to work for them and grubhub won't deliver in my area. Plus I have a "regular" job and am doing this part time. I'm happy with the money I make and have good experience with a buck a mile as my go-to. I don't feel like I'm wrong, just different. I'm not calling you wrong either. Neither of us our necessarily smarter than the other, or suckers. Just different with different needs.

I've had to unassign a few recently. Keep getting new offers I've never been to before and when I get there, they haven't even started the order yet. Another place was closed. It sucks we're judged on situations beyond our control.

I had to reassign two yesterday because they told me they just started the order as I walked in. Running multiple apps, I don’t have time to sit and waste because it adds up fast!! 10 minute wait/delivery by 6/day is an hour lost EACH DAY!!!! That’s easily $100+ lost with wait time bs.

If the restaurant is closed and you reassign yourself in the app from the order for that reason, your completion rate won't be affected.

I'm a Top Dasher. I average over $25/active hour driven and over $2/mile driven.

Good break down of the stats and rates of Doordash. Many drivers take the acceptance rate too seriously. I like how you pointed out in the original contract that in the grand scheme of things, those other rates matter but not the acceptance rate.

My rating went from 4.9 to 4.6 because a customer rated me badly from their mistake. They put the wrong address in that lead me in a restaurant as a drop of location, instead of the hotel they were staying at across the street. I tried calling but the phone said “this phone is no longer in service “ and I tried calling multiple times. Finally wile I was on support with doordash the guy tracked me down from maps on his doordash app and knocked on my window asking if I was the dd driver. I said I had been trying to reach him for 15 min and his phone doesnt work and I apologized for the mix up. Sadly he didn’t understand me because he was a foreigner and my score went down that night :(

More often than not the customers don’t even rate at all. Texting the customer after delivery does work and has for me.

I did a couple before and got sucked into dumb drama that I want no part of, so I’ve disassociated with all other creators. I’m the only one doing it with good intentions, instead of financial gain as my purpose. It’s a shame it ended up that way! People will be people though

Thanks! Nope, it’s just where I lived when I started doing Lyft and was a TERRIBLE spot for Rideshare. Always had to dead head to areas with less minimum fare rides. I grew up in East Mesa, and back living far from the main city, and doing gig work successfully without all the offers I saw there.

I never heard of amazon flex until you just mentioned it. Do you have a video on that

I dash in the downtown San Diego and Little Italy areas and it has been extremely slow. I am only getting next to nothing. One day last week I waited for 2 hours for an order during the lunch rush. Anyone else have this problem lately? I do hope this is just phase.

Hello Gig Jake, I have a question just was deactivated due to cx rating right in middle of working a order. I'm at a 4.0 but I was stiffed out of the order I was on because would not allow me to mark delivered. Do you know if you can reapply after a few months? Also I've been battling them for over 4wks for a missing pymt that was refused by my bank when they canceled my fast pay cc. I have updated cc and after my fast pay became active the funds still were not resubmitted. I have reached out to chat they keep advising their escalating but I still have not heard from escalations & have not received the money. Chat says they dont have phone number or email must wait till they reach out to me. Do you have any advice? Now that I'm deactivated I'm trying to get this resolved asap they don't seem to want to pay me

Being top dasher in small towns is very convenient. I can dash whenever I want, at night. Also I got deactivated and when I contacted them they activated me almost instantly because I got +5k deleveries and my acceptance rate is in the 90's. I deliver to the same people regularly, they know me as Dasher Boy. Rating sometimes goes down to 4.9. In a big city you can decline more often maybe but here in CA people are getting poorer by the minute.

I live on the border of the no delivery zone, far from the bigger and busier part of the city. There aren't many big restaurants over here and mostly places like fast food and couple grocery stores. I'm sure you can dash whenever you want at night without being Top Dasher because demand is higher, there's less delivery drivers after 8p, with demand going through all hours of the night.

Yeah, I was reading the agreement a few weeks ago, now accaptance is 50% ballpark. I always send photo with ty text. That way they know there is evidence so never had bogus claim with over 700 deliveries.

I have done 1500 orders with top Dasher and I decline low orders. And work less than 40 hrs to make $700+ / week

Jake, my numbers are exactly what yours are except my acceptance rate is a tad higher. Yet I cannot get access to the schedule at all. Is there any advice or video you can make? I'm at 92% completion rate. So do people like me have to just stay up til midnight to get the schedule?

I'm a little over 1200 deliveries. A year in. As far as the acceptance rate goes.. Mine doesn't go up. It'll sure go down though. I've presented this to Doordash numerous time's & nothing was ever done. This has been an on going issue for month's now. I've had a customer that tried to pull that little stunt that they didn't get their food. Little did they know I wear a body camera on me at all times. I was able to submit that video clip and doordash flag their account. If you don't have solid proof then the customer gets away with it.

I got “Top Dasher” after my first full shift of 2.5 hours???? Weirdly, I tried to work the day before and kept getting the white screen saying they had all the dashers needed in my area, which I call BS on, since I have been a customer for the past 18 months and know how inconsistent, late, and even delivered to the wrong house 2 times. Neither time would the dasher come back... Anyway, ( 🐿 🐕 ! ) If I loose that top dasher status, will I go back to that blocked screen where I can’t get a delivery?

All my ratings are 97% but 86% on on time and I just got dinged on my last order and I've done 48 orders in 24 active hrs

Jake, what are your thoughts on flat-rate tips? From what I can tell most customers are being prompted to tip a set dollar amount vs the standard 10%,15%, 20% etc. Although I believe subtotals over $100 or $120 still trigger the percentage based tips.Personally, I think its absurd.

@@GigCoachJake lol perfect timing. The tips are so predicable. The majority of dashers think it's the customers fault when they get a $7 tip on $95 worth of food. When the DD prompt is $5,$6, $7 etc. DD pulled the ole' bait and switch. As you probably know they (DD) raised the delivery fees and to offset the increases in fees they lowered the tip prompt amounts.

I help other Dashers with doors and such if they’re hands are full on the way out ect

Sometimes I have to wait up to 30 minutes at the restaurant, or even reorder. They don’t pay me for the waiting time and still giving low rating for being late. Any advice? , I just started like 2 weeks ago.

Don’t hesitate to reassign when given long wait times. Keep notes on places that are frequently slow to get orders out and reject their offers 100% of the time going forward. Stop accepting offers that say “Red Card” on the incoming offer screen.

My customer rating has dipped from 4.86 to 4.71 I don't know is that because I'm accepting more offers or something else is going on.

I know someone who is a dasher who has 3.7 customer rating but has not been deactivated. However they don't even have 30 deliveries completed. Are they safe for now because they haven't did that many deliveries?

You're given wide latitude on your stats over your first 50 deliveries. Beyond that, however, a customer rating of 3.7 is a death sentence.

I had a power outage today and it f'd up my completion rate even though I never picked up the food. It went from 100 to 80 in one day because the restraunts couldn't make the food after the power went out. I hope doordash understands

I had that happen to me two weeks ago. I contacted Doordash support. The representative, in turn, called the restaurant and verified that the power was out. The representative unassigned me from the order with no adverse impact on my completion rate and gave me half pay for reporting to the restaurant.

Some of you, including Jake, are acting like first class jerks. Yes, we're independent contractors, but that goes both ways. If you don't want to juggle 3 or 4 different apps, if you're content with making about a buck a mile, that's ALSO as valid as cherry picking. Or if you want to be a top dasher because you like the convenience of being able to dash any time you wish, that's also valid. NEITHER are necessarily suckers or should be castigated as "bringing it on themselves". I don't see Bentley Coup insulting or the people that follow him insulting other dashers. I will turn down any order that doesn't pay me a buck a mile. Yes, I did accept an order that paid 3.25 but it was only a few blocks down the road and when I got there she gave me $10.00 cash. That's anecdotal, but much of his "evidence" is also anecdotal. I think I make pretty decent money part time, I'm not juggling multiple apps and my stats, accept for the acceptance rating are comparable with Jakes.

what are your thoughts on the 70% acceptance rate to be a top dasher. Unfortunately this is the only app available to work in my market. I have a customer rating that hoovers between 4.88 and 5.0 Completion rate at 99% On time of 97%. I used to be a top dasher before the 70% acceptance rate policy. Doesn't this go against their own policy of us being independent contractors? Seems highly unethical to me. Do you see this changing anytime soon? Or is there anything us drivers can or should do to push back against this seemingly illegal policy that has just been implemented. The highest I've ever been able to get my acceptance rate is mid 40%. Too many low ball offers and/or far deliveries. If doordash brought back the $6 market minimum I think I could possibly get to that 70% mark. Just so frustrating. I feel like I am being punished for making smart decisions on my end. Any advice welcome. Thanks for creating another great video.

Kevin Covers it’s not illegal. The contract states that we have a right to accept or deny as much as we want and DoorDash cannot deactivate us for it. They are only offering incentives for those who have a higher rating, nothing illegal about it. Like Jake said you just have to be smarter and choose your market wisely because honestly top dasher doesn’t matter.

The only way it will change is more people rejecting crap and complaining, like we did about the old $1 delivery pay model that was a crock, no matter what anyone says.

Great video Jake thanks again..when I first started dashimg I would accept every order thinking that would make me stand out and I would recieve better orders but I soon found that to be false I was getting alot of crap orders from slow resteraunts that were far from the 1.00 per mile minimum..I then changed my game to cherry picking..my acceptance went down but my ratings went up..I'm.able to deliver the food faster because I know the good merchants and in this game time is very important..I make more money now cherry picking because I get higher paying offers I don't get alot of orders but I get better quality..if I can complete a order for 15.00 in 20 minutes versus taking a 8.50 order that's gonna take well over 30 minutes then I'll cherry pick all day lol I'm not hating on the top dashers either..i just wish they would open their eyes and reject more so doordash would raise the payouts lol

I just want to say , I believe u , u don’t have to tell me ur credentials.ur doing a fine job , I say let the fools the drivers do whatever they want to at the end of the week they should know is it worth it . Hear in Florida, there playing games ,if they tell u 4 dollars it could mean 8 dollars .myself , I will not except 4 dollars, only way I will except 5 dollars if it’s 0.9 same with 6 dollars .u are right to except a higher pay but, they are doing this, if it’s high payout, there is something wrong with the order , example, I accepted a run for 12 dollars for circle k .I went there, asked if I can pickup my order, this was beer. 🍺 the man said they were out of stock. this was the first time I did this run ,it will now be on my no fly list . The funny thing was right across the street was another circle k .i just got half pay on that .not my show .at Christmas time, I did postmates only because they were giving a 5 dollar bonus for every order and I knew most runs are 4 to 5 dollar runs .witch made sence to me .was doing good that day until they sent me to Publix this place was closed down for renovation, and they didn’t pay me For that run .the other one was 7/11 this was after the Christmas rush ,if I would of thought more ,as they had 8 items on there list only thing the store had was the slushees .i knew if I went with this partial order I would get a bad rating ,this was what postmates told me to do .I had this reassigned.the last one that pissed me off was a pizza order but, I had to place the order .i had another run at that time , I placed the order by phone ,postmates told me it was ok and I told them I had another thing to do they said it was ok .I said after the thing I had to do I will pick it up ,as it took 20 minutes to make .the restaurant told me .while I went to do another order drop off and went toward to get this pizza ,they gave this to another person ,it pissed me off because all the guy had to do was get the pizza 🍕 I ordered with no waiting . I did call postmates and they were like who did u talk to ? yes they played stupid and I told them I am turning the app off on them tonight ,I couldn’t believe that they were screwing me on this ,I am from the old school where u shouldn’t have to worry about ur job screwing u .unbelievable

They verified this in an email when they reached out to me for a phone call to get my feedback. Told them they have my feedback in all of my videos. I have the emails to prove this, of course.

most people dont leave a rating. Some asshole gave you a low rating and you might only have a few people who left one.

With a high amount of Dashers, I doubt there's anything you can do at this time. Those are automated and they usually don't budge on it. Sorry to hear!!

Doordash is a publicly traded company. It doesn't have an owner per se (except for its stockholders).

I take nothing less than $2 a mile with a minimum $8 order to even move a mile.

And still have a 5.0 on customer rate

The only thing wrong with what you’re saying is this, when you’re not a top dasher you need to except whatever area they offer to work in. What that translates into is this, if you can’t work in the area you want to the area closest to you that is going to pay good, then you have to travel really far away to another area maybe 20 3040 miles away. Being a top dasher you can work anytime you want wherever you want. Either way you slice it you’re being controlled. Do you think they haven’t figured this out? If this is the only platform you’re able to use, you’re at a disadvantage.

I write to doordash to update my completion and on time rate and they won’t do anything

you should tell people that honestly dd only cares if u get customers there orders on time,all the other stuff doesn't matter,l don't even think customer ratings matter.l say that because l been given numerous times to customer who have given me low ratings if dd really cared they wouldn't match you with those customers ,like the way lyft does.

They actually aren’t that rare IF you know what to look for, but you’re quite wrong. I run multiple apps, and I give plenty of $8-$10 DoorDash deliveries, with earnings statements to back that. The offers on average, are simply that bad. I’m not chasing down ANYTHING under $8. That’s what’s necessary for my situation and business.

GrubHub sends a lot more offers of $15+ where I don’t have to play guessing games or decrypt algorithms as I do so well. I can keep it simple, but too much wait time on GH where DD makes for a great filler.

One thing i noticed is if u have a Muslim name no matter how u try your best they will never give ua good customer rating that's the sad reality. So change the name
