Dog screams every time he is touched - so sad to see such a scared dog 💔

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Loreta was quick here and managed to avoid a bite, but in two days, I will post a video where she wasn't that lucky and was bitten TWICE - I will post it here: www.HopeForPaws.org ❤️
When we got a text on the #HopeForPaws emergency line, we headed out to rescue #Arnold. It's important to understand that dogs like him don't usually leave the shelters alive... the system doesn't have the resources to provide the support system that a dog like him needs.
After ruling out a medical issue, Arnold continued to our friends at #FoxyAndTheHounds where Terri Fox had to teach him how to love all over again. She did a great job and she really turned him around! She then did something even more amazing, but you'll have to watch until the end 🥰
There are many more dogs for adoption on their website: www.FoxyAndTheHounds.org
I just spoke to Loreta and she asked if there is any way for her to text our subscribers... she wants to send a message to everybody. I told her that every person who signs up here will get her text: www.HopeForPaws.org/Join
Thank you so much for watching our videos! Tomorrow I will post another video 😉

I am Arnold’s new mama. He had the most amazing Christmas and Santa filled his stocking up with lots of toys. Arnold is by far the hardest rescue we have ever adopted however this little boy wants to love and be loved so very much and every day it gets better. Arnold now spends his days on any and all pieces of furniture in the house. He loves taking a nap on his heating pad most days. He has more toys than he knows what to do with and his diet consists of roasted chicken, boiled chicken, ground sirloin, Kobe beef, roast beef, and turkey. We will spoil Arnold for the rest of his life and love him. We will NEVER abandon him or hurt him. He now lives the life of luxury!!

I have had 24 cats in 44 years. ALL of them were homeless before I rescued them. My girlfriend has 2 cats we rescued from abuse & our beloved Betty Boop cat died 3 years ago at 16 & she was rescued from abandonment, covered with fleas & full of worms. She was one of the sweetest cats ever. My girlfriend has had many homeless cats and kittens as well. Her girlfriend took in a pregnant mama cat and now has 5 and a dog. No animal or human should wind up abandoned and on the street.

Marie C That is an unfair statement. It is mostly reacting to the reactions of a frightened animal and not relating this to a human that is severely afraid. If they did this, most would likely feel that if it is okay for a human then the animal will be fine, too. Be careful with your emotions and comments you make. Don't feed the trolls. HFP is about helping not only animals, but helping people to be better pet owners. They do not want people angered any more than they need to be. Nor do they want people to be unreasonable or unbalanced in their anger.

The couple who saved Arnold weren't experienced rescuers, so they did what they thought was best. They believed they were doing the right thing by giving Arnold time to de-stress, decompress, and get used to them by not touching him until he was ready. The important thing is that everyone did their part in getting Arnold to where he is today...the couple who caught him, Eldad and his team,Terri and her team, and his adopters. All those people taught Arnold that he has value, and that they were all willing to work hard to teach him to be a trusting, loving boy because his life has meaning and importance, and he deserves a loving forever home.

I adopted an extremely timid and scared 3lb chihuahua from a hoarding situation. She had never been socialized and was about 1 year old. I didn't know there was a technique called 'flooding' but I decided right away she needed to Face Her Fears. So, for the first few weeks, when I was home, she was in a baby front pack carried around or on a leash so she could not run and hide from me. She lived 14 years and was always timid and skittish but also such a sweet, dear, tiny little girl. She learned to love and trust a few special people. We still miss her.

When one method works for one patient (dog or human), it does not work the best for another one I speak out of experience (i got different therapies for trauma - for me EMDR failed, a method very efficient for others. The best for me is what can be called 'meditative tools', for others in turn this can be of no interest) But All therapeutic methods that work are based on the same principles (because the mammalian brain (dog or human) works in a defined way) For ex the 1st stage is desensitization - for dogs and humans. Those people who left unkind messages about the work you do were most likely sitting home on a keyboard. Where were they when this little pup was hungry and afraid. You are magic and kind, continue to help the helpless. Thank you.

Flooding seems "mean" to those who don't understand the reasoning behind it. It is a practice also used in mental health situations where some body has phobias fears etc. and the goal is to show them that they are not in danger . Happy Arnold got a furever family.

Poor baby! To be so scared like that is so sad. He must have been abused. Once you lose their trust it takes a long time to get it back. But Arnold got the best care. I appreciate the owners asking all those questions. They did the right thing. So glad Arnold found the perfect home where he's, loved, spoiled & has siblings to play with! What a happy ending! ♥️

Thank you again for your patience and for saving that precious, sweet, scared dog. Thank you as always for your kindness and compassion. I am a monthly donor and I just wish I could donate more. You are an organization that people can truly trust . There are so many fake rescues eg like Paw Squadron and others , that excuse me , stupid and naive people continue believing in and supporting, allowing them to continue abusing animals (hate what is happening to those innocent , poor animals) , . If a story does not have a beginning, middle and end, very likely is fake. Please people donate to this wonderful organization , they truly deserve it.

I have lost count of the dogs I have watched you turn around with the flooding technique, a method which protects both rescuer and dog and which works, sometimes amazingly quickly. Everyone of your rescues is done with kindness and shows your dedication to helping these abandoned animals. You have 5.44 millions subscribers because we see the immense care and compasion you treat every single animal you rescue. Ignore the critics and keep doing the wonderful work you do.

There's a difference between pushing a animal's boundries to allow them to overcome their fears and there mental trauma's. ... And pushing an animal past it's limits to make it go 'viral' on social media. People stressing out animals for the fun of it and not because it helps the animal in the end. Those are the people I will never respect. But I will infinitely respect and love the things you guys are doing. Don't let the people leaving negative comments on your socials get to you.
