Dog screams every time he is touched - so sad to see such a scared dog 💔

Loreta was quick here and managed to avoid a bite, but in two days, I will post a video where she wasn't that lucky and was bitten TWICE - I will post it here: www.HopeForPaws.org ❤️
When we got a text on the #HopeForPaws emergency line, we headed out to rescue #Arnold. It's important to understand that dogs like him don't usually leave the shelters alive... the system doesn't have the resources to provide the support system that a dog like him needs.
After ruling out a medical issue, Arnold continued to our friends at #FoxyAndTheHounds where Terri Fox had to teach him how to love all over again. She did a great job and she really turned him around! She then did something even more amazing, but you'll have to watch until the end 🥰
There are many more dogs for adoption on their website: www.FoxyAndTheHounds.org
I just spoke to Loreta and she asked if there is any way for her to text our subscribers... she wants to send a message to everybody. I told her that every person who signs up here will get her text: www.HopeForPaws.org/Join
Thank you so much for watching our videos! Tomorrow I will post another video 😉

I am Arnold’s new mama. He had the most amazing Christmas and Santa filled his stocking up with lots of toys. Arnold is by far the hardest rescue we have ever adopted however this little boy wants to love and be loved so very much and every day it gets better. Arnold now spends his days on any and all pieces of furniture in the house. He loves taking a nap on his heating pad most days. He has more toys than he knows what to do with and his diet consists of roasted chicken, boiled chicken, ground sirloin, Kobe beef, roast beef, and turkey. We will spoil Arnold for the rest of his life and love him. We will NEVER abandon him or hurt him. He now lives the life of luxury!!

I have had 24 cats in 44 years. ALL of them were homeless before I rescued them. My girlfriend has 2 cats we rescued from abuse & our beloved Betty Boop cat died 3 years ago at 16 & she was rescued from abandonment, covered with fleas & full of worms. She was one of the sweetest cats ever. My girlfriend has had many homeless cats and kittens as well. Her girlfriend took in a pregnant mama cat and now has 5 and a dog. No animal or human should wind up abandoned and on the street.
People actually gave you a hard time on social media? What a horrible world we live in. Bless you
The negative comments about their rescue techniques are ridiculous. The results speak for themselves. Hope for Paws is definitely one of the top 5 rescue channels on YT. The pets are handled with compassion and patience by everyone involved. I support them whenever I can.🥰
Gotta give kudos to the homeowners - not only feeding the dog and calling in help, but following up with questions to make sure the dog is actually going to be well-cared for. (Not that any of us ever had any doubts!)

Agreed! The best part was the homeowners making sure Arnold was going to an indoor home with his own family and not an outdoor dog sanctuary.
I love that the home owners asked a lot of question about where Arnold would go, would he be in a shelter, alone or with people. They are caring people. Thank you Hope For Paws for taking him into your arms, literally, and making it possible for him to have his new best life. Happy Holidays!!

Marie C That is an unfair statement. It is mostly reacting to the reactions of a frightened animal and not relating this to a human that is severely afraid. If they did this, most would likely feel that if it is okay for a human then the animal will be fine, too. Be careful with your emotions and comments you make. Don't feed the trolls. HFP is about helping not only animals, but helping people to be better pet owners. They do not want people angered any more than they need to be. Nor do they want people to be unreasonable or unbalanced in their anger.
Eldad, do not let the people who left bad messages stop you. That is the downside to comments, but the upside is the overwhelming majority understands. Happy New year, and this is the place I donate. Thanks!
There are people in this world that would criticize regardless of the situation! Pay no attention to them! You folks know what you are doing!!

Some chihuahuas are that kind of timid by nature. I used to work with a lady who had two. The male took a week to get used to me. The female too 2 months before she stopped trying to bite because she was so afraid. She had both since they were puppies, and had tried to do everything right for both of them

@@michaeltutty1540 But this owner that abandoned this dog wasn't doing everything right which does make me wonder what all they did wrong. My mother had a Chihuahua so I know how timid and nervous they can be but he didn't yelp every time he was touched. He might growl to tell someone he didn't know to keep away but not yelp like that.
To all the people that left nasty messages you should really educate yourself. These people know what they're doing.

The monster that hurt him so much to make him scream the way he did deserves to be publicly flogged then imprisoned for life (a bit over the top some might say but honestly if I was supreme leader of the world that's what would happen)
The unkind comments should be towards the people who initially mistreated and abandoned this poor baby!! So glad he's home now!!!
I can't imagine what happened to him to be so afraid. So glad you got him and could turn him around. Well done guys
I agree with this process.....dogs are unique in getting over trauma faster if they are made to face what scares them and realize they are not getting harmed. As they probably were in the past...
Happy for you arnold... ❤️😇 A loving forever home for you.
I know I'm crying of happiness, but this story touched my soul... For a dog to be so scared of being touched by a human, I cannot imagine the abuse he must have gone thru!

Education is key! Flooding is absolutely necessary for pups like this and people just need to take the time to see that it is not hurtful to the dog, but so important for him to experience it so he will be able move on. Well done!! Little Arnold is the cutest :)

The couple who saved Arnold weren't experienced rescuers, so they did what they thought was best. They believed they were doing the right thing by giving Arnold time to de-stress, decompress, and get used to them by not touching him until he was ready. The important thing is that everyone did their part in getting Arnold to where he is today...the couple who caught him, Eldad and his team,Terri and her team, and his adopters. All those people taught Arnold that he has value, and that they were all willing to work hard to teach him to be a trusting, loving boy because his life has meaning and importance, and he deserves a loving forever home.
Eldad and the Hope for Paws staff KNOW what they are doing. Love, patience, honesty, medical care, food and a forever home.
Respect to the people who were worried about his outcomes, not just handing him over to anyone.
God bless Hope For Paws ♡
I used flooding with my 18 month old rescue dog who is now a very happy & relaxed elderly dog. It enabled her to bond with me more quickly. I think it was kinder because there was one person she could rely on to help her overcome her many other terrors. She was an extreme case and I was warned by my vet about fear aggression - she is sweet natured and has never shown any aggression.
I can't even imagine how tired these poor babies are. Thank you again for doing such good.
How wonderful this is!!! Thank you for all your hat you do, and thanks to that wonderful new family, Arnold is so happy!!!!❤❤
unfortunately sometimes people react negatively to things they dont understand and if that method of flooding helps any pet to recover faster and happier how could you be against that?

Anyone criticizing needs to understand that canine behaviour is NOT human behaviour. Dogs are not people. They react on instinct, not by rationalizing. Watching Hope for Paws should convince viewers they know what they're doing! Great job, team!
I adopted an extremely timid and scared 3lb chihuahua from a hoarding situation. She had never been socialized and was about 1 year old. I didn't know there was a technique called 'flooding' but I decided right away she needed to Face Her Fears. So, for the first few weeks, when I was home, she was in a baby front pack carried around or on a leash so she could not run and hide from me. She lived 14 years and was always timid and skittish but also such a sweet, dear, tiny little girl. She learned to love and trust a few special people. We still miss her.

@@lol-gy9pj not really because there are different therapeutic approaches for dogs And humans, both mammals (the same emotional system). When one method works for one patient (dog or human), it does not work the best for another one I speak out of experience (i got different therapies for trauma - for me EMDR failed, a method very efficient for others. The best for me is what can be called 'meditative tools', for others in turn this can be of no interest) But All therapeutic methods that work are based on the same principles (because the mammalian brain (dog or human) works in a defined way) For ex the 1st stage is desensitization - for dogs and humans. The only critic I think is that a discussion can - ought to - be friendly.

There's a difference between pushing a animal's boundries to allow them to overcome their fears and there mental trauma's. ...
